Oxtail with rice and peas, and fried plantain, a great deal at only $8.88! Enough for two meals and it tasted good!

Freshland is not just another Asian supermarket. This place is huge, bigger than most that I frequent in the east end. Unfortunately, it's not close enough to home to be my everyday market. Darn! I've been here a few times now, almost always for the cooked food. They offer the usual Chinese BBQ, Chinese food, dim sum, and sushi found at most Asian markets. In addition to that, they also have Filipino food, available as Kamayan Feast, Caribbean favourites, and BBQ. There's lots to choose from! Wandering through the rest of the market, there's a large section of Halal food, seafood, meats, great looking produce, and lots more. You kinda have to see it to believe it. Prices are very reasonable, especially when the end of day selloff starts for the cooked food. Even their regular prices though, are considerably lower than restaurant prices. Try it. You won't be disappointed!

Used to be a No Frills at this location, which has been relocated to the McLevin Rd. Good example of Asian supermarket adjusting their selection based on the demographics and it is a success. It has a good selection of Chinese Indian Caribbean and Filipino items (maybe there is other ethnic goods but I haven't noticed yet) Another highlight is their delicious food court: Standard Chinese takeout Chinese BBQ Caribbean takeout Japanese sushi Bubble tea Some of which may be closed right now due to Covid 19. And takeout only ofc. Good variety at deli court too, with fast and helpful staff They have a halal meat section as well I think it's better than other ethnic supermarket in this area. Mask wearing and hand sanitizing is also enforced by security when you enter the store.

It's great! This supermarket is huge and very clean. They have everything and a food court. I was surprised to find a deli/cheese department, which is super rare for a Chinese supermarket. Another surprise was the presence of security guards. Make sure to check the flyer for weekly deals.

Very spacious and very clean Chinese grocery store. Hot foods section has a great variety of food. Chinese food, dimsum, Chinese bbq thats always got a long line up on the weekends so you know that already says much bout their food. Their world cuisine also has pasta, Filipino food, rotiserie chicken, Jamaican food.all tasty meals. And also a sushi bar made in store. Great tasting menu for half the price of restaurant bento boxes.

These days, I tend to hang out around the Malvern area (Tapscott and Neilson) fairly regularly,…read moremainly because there's a Circle K that I like. It has hot drinks and hot dogs. Across the street from this magical store is a plaza with this No Frills. I checked it out for the first time in late July. The parking lot does get busy with shoppers, but it's not horrible. I found a parking spot and walked in. The cart requires a loonie. As usual, I didn't have one. Instead, I used a small basket for my items. I needed celery and avocados. The produce section was excellent. Everything looked fresh and in decent condition. I found my items and continued shopping. This neighbourhood has East and West Indian communities. You see food catering to them at this store, from Indian snacks to plantains, both in the produce section and in chip form as snacks. It does have a decent Asian section. I loved seeing shrimp-flavoured chips that are highly addictive and an impressive assortment of ramen. I ended up getting some coconut oil. I had just run out of it. This store also has an impressive assortment of juice flavours. I saw guava, lychee, and mango juices, just to name a few. I got a cheerful cashier at the checkout. I had brought a bag, so I stuffed it as she ran my items through the scanner. I paid with a debit card. Done! I thanked her and happily left with my grocery items on a rainy day. I have since returned whenever I'm back at Circle K. It's a good No Frills. I like it better than my local one because staff are friendly and it has everything that I need. (349)

Not all branches do food - for example the Mississauga branch doesn't. Got a sugar cane for only $3. It came with options to add lime and/or ginger, which I declined. It seemed to have a bit of a sour edge, so it probably had lemon added. It was good, though it wasn't cold. On the flip side, that meant it wasn't cut with ice either. It was a bit small, though it was described on the receipt as "12 oz. Now bigger qty" so I guess it used to be even smaller. The paan (stuffed betel nut leaf) was actually pretty good - moist & a good mix of flavours, with a maraschino cherry pinned onto its outside with a toothpick. Masala butter pav was pretty good though the bun was soft & not crispy. Small samosa (for which they undercharged me - 20 cents though the menu said it was 25 cents to get you to buy 5 for $1) was actually pretty big. It was ok; though pre-made it still had some crispness. Batataka vada was large but plain & neither crispy nor warm so it wasn't good. The "jumbo" vada pav came in a burger bun. The patty was not crispy because it was pre-made & cold but it still tasted OK. The chutneys were nice. The patty used potato that was a bit coarse but still tasted ok; compressed into the bun the chunkiness of the potato was not so noticeable. The spiciness of the dish hit in the aftertaste especially hard. Some items are only available in "summer", but there's summer and there's summer; when I went sugar cane juice was available but not the ice golla.

They have excellent samosas and kachori. I recommend to go there for these tasty and convenient…read moresnacks!

This place is huge, and sells all kinds of things. Parking is a bit hectic, even at 1:45 on a Thursday afternoon. The parking spots right in front of the Food Mart are very small, and scary for a big SUV like mine. But there is very frequent turnover, and if you just drive around the lot for 30 seconds, someone will be pulling out. The parking spaces in front of the stores facing the Food Mart are larger and a bit easier to navigate. This mall is great fun to go to. They have all manner of foods (fresh noodles! Great fruits! Asian stuffed toys and cosmetics! Fresh meat and seafood! The list goes on and on ...) and an excellent prepared food counter, and a Chatime outlet. We bought some mochi, some enormous strawberries, and a variety of dim sums from the food counter. Our selections included fried dough sticks (they actually reheat well in the air-fryer), fried squid, scallion pancakes, seafood and pork dumplings, some delicious pork and shrimp mini-pancakes. The squid was the way my daughter likes it (chewy), and I enjoyed some as well. Everything else was great, although the dumplings were a bit past their peak, and should have been switched out for new ones. We also enjoyed some delicious bubble tea from Chatime, which always has new, seasonal selections to tempt you. Basically, a trip to the Asia Food Mart is really fun, as they have such a diversity of products. Next time, I'm coming here to shop "for real" (meaning actual groceries, as opposed to lunch or snacks). The butchery and fish counters serve really fresh food at a good price, and there are some great deals on produce. You can't get around the fact that this is a snack haven. You should check it out now!!! It's open 24/7.

My family and I had just eaten at the Pacific Mall, but man, wish we had saved ourselves for this spot. As far as an Asian grocery stores go, this is one of the cleaner, and better organized ones that I have been to, maybe ever. Not only are they clean, but they have a great variety of snacks and drinks, as well as your standard fare for everyday cooking. To me, the star of this place has to be their prepared foods area. Evidently after 8pm, they mark down lots of their prepared food items. From dim sum, to noodles, fried rice and other entrees, you can score plenty of items for $4-6 which were normally 2-3x that. I felt like a kid in a candy store and began snatching and hording all the things. I had to stop and remind myself we were on vacation, and would be living out of hotels for the next few days, so I limited myself to just a handful of items. We got some noodles, fried rice and dumplings, which we would end up eating for breakfast over the next few days. While nothing was mind blowing per se, the food was solid and certainly economical. If I lived in this area, I could see myself coming here on the regular just for the prepared foods. OVERALL - almost wish I hadn't come to this place, so I'd never knew what I was missing. Thank you Canada for showing me what's possible. CELEBRITY RATING - Simu Liu

The store was very clean and very well laid out. Quite a few good varieties and selection for every item. The prices are reasonable. We didn't purchase a lot of things. There was a table full of samples to try out - you can select which sample you want to try and how many times. We did try quite a few items and surprisingly we liked quite a few of them and almost all of them were store brand and we bought many of them. We also bought khaman dhokla - which was very disappointing. Not fresh and also as it was dipped or topped in a sugar syrup. Coming from a Gujarati store, khaman was very disappointing. Same for Khichu - it was so dry and unflavoured. We topped with some pickle masala and still it was not pleasing at all. We bought chappatis and they were absolutely amazing. Soft, fresh and well made and reasonably priced. Part of the taste was because of a lot oil was used when the dough was prepared. Only thing we didn't like is there were no ingredients on the packaging. If management is reading this please add ingredients to as many items that are store made.
