The place is pretty small and we got take out. Prices are reasonable and everything was delicious - I ordered two matcha drinks and the fried chicken entree - sambal sauce was definitely spicy but so good, the green chili is a lot milder. Service was good.

Stopped by after a day out in philly for a quick pick me up. Tiramisu latte & strawberry matcha. It was so good! Great way to end the day.

    breakfast platters & matchas

I loveddddd this place. Would recommend anyone to come to South Philly for it. I definitely want to come back to try more of the menu. Not many Indonesian spots I know of so this place is a gem. Delicious chicken rice platters for breakfast but they also have more classic American egg & cheese sandwiches. Amazing matchas with fun flavors- mango coconut, pandan, tiramisu. The coffees and chicken congee also looked good. Small but has outdoor dining tables. I wish they were on Doordash. 10/10

Delicious, fresh, flavorful, and filling. Not too busy on a Tuesday afternoon Strawberry matcha was a great sweet treat to drink on the way home

Cute restaurant tucked in south philly! I got the matcha latte with oatmilk and it was good, I think my friend got it with whole milk and her's was less sweet and nuttier compared to mine which was a bit sweeter. My bf got the es kopi susu and it was on the sweeter end but still delicious. Foodwise, I thought the ayam geprek was okay, portions are definitely generous and the chicken was juicy and crunchy, however I felt the sambal bawang was spicy yet lacking flavor. The rice was also a bit on the mushier side as well. The lamb skewers were really good though! flavorful and i liked the nutty sauce. It got packed as time went on, we went on a sat morning no reservations & you just sit wherever there's seating. You order at the counter and you pick up the food up front to your table. Overall a cute little place worth stopping by!

I've heard a lot about this place, and it's been on my bucketlist for a while! Finally had a chance & came on a saturday afternoon and it was packed -- definitely come early or expect a wait! This spot is half indonesian comfort food, half american brunch. It gives off a similar energy to Caphe Roaster but make it indonesian - cozy, packed, very neighborhood café vibes. I can see why it's a local fav I got their smash chicken since it's one of their most popular dishes -- chicken was crispy and tender, and you can choose from 5 sauces. Also tried the chicken congee -- shredded chicken, fried dough, peanuts, yellow chicken broth. Suuper thick, really comforting, this would hit on a cold day. For drinks I was so torn, I wanted to try everything and ended up going went with the matcha mango coconut -- refreshing, not too sweet. They've got a whole lineup of matcha and hojicha drinks that I'm definitely coming back to try! This neighborhood spot is worth checking out if you're in south philly - they also have outside seating too here.

Obsessed with this little brunch spot! The food is incredible and unique with amazing Indonesian flavors if you're seeking something different from your usual breakfast/brunch. They also have amazing drinks, including matcha and hojicha. The space is very tight and seating is quite limited so that is something to consider on a busy weekend. You order at the counter and wait for your food, although some people did decide to snag a table before they ordered which can affect seating availability too. The staff are great!

FINALLY made it to Griddle and Rice after seeing it all over the place! I came in on an early Friday morning. I literally wanted everything from the menu from breakfast items to their lunch items but alas it was early so I settled for the Supreme Sammy which comes with 2 fried eggs, cheddar cheese, beef bacon, hashbrown, arugula, umami sauce on a beautiful butter brioche bun. I also opted to add a side of homefries + side salad. I ordered the dirty milo to wash it all down which is the milo dinosaur drink but with a shot of expresso. It took a bit for them to cook the food since its made to order but oh man when it came out I was so happy. The sandwich itself was HUGE by the way. Very tasty with every bite. No skimping on ingredients. You can tell this food was made with love :) The hashbrowns had fresh sauteed peppers and onions and the salad was nice and light. I couldnt finish it but even as leftovers it was great. The dirty milo was also very good but not very strong coffee taste. Overall a great breakfast meal. Ill have to come back to try them for lunch/dinner. 5/5 stars!

If only this place was closer to me! I visited on a weekday for lunch after having this place on my list for quite awhile. Walking in, I was hit by a cozy and bustling cafe vibe which was definitely in stark contrast to the chilly quiet outside neighborhood corner. At the counter, I ordered the ayam geprek or smashed chicken rice dish with sambal on the side. For a drink, I got the kopi gula aren. It was quite crowded inside but I was able to find a seat for myself immediately. I felt like by the time I had taken off my coat and gotten settled, my drink was ready, and then my food was quickly ready after that. I've never had smashed fried chicken before, but it was just what I needed. It's what you would think it would be like, and the sambal really gives the dish a nice finish. It was definitely a good portion size. The iced coffee was nice too and not too sweet. I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu!

I feel like we need this type of place in every neighbourhood! This place does great breakfast sandwiches, and also Indonesian dishes. I went here with my daughter and ordered Supreme Sammy, Chicken Congee, kopi tubruk, and unsweetened ice black tea. They do not skimp with portion, the supreme Sammy was packed and I was genuinely full 3/4 of the way. Chicken congee was also very good and it is an ultimate comfort food. Unsweetened ice black tea was very nice, and kopi tubruk was strong, but very smooth (it is unfiltered so when you get this you have to let it sit for about 10 min for the coffee ground to sink to the bottom). It is a very small space, we were lucky we got the window counter seats, but there were enough people coming and going for pick ups so it gets kind of crowded.

This is small place with good amount of seating for the crowd- might have to wait a few minutes for the table though. They have outdoor seating as well. Moving on to the food- it was amazinggg! We got the Crème Burlee French Toast and Smash Chicken Rice, both were tasty. This was probably the best French toast I've ever had. Ration of the crème burlee sauce and bread was perfect! The Smash Chicken Rice came with a fried egg and Sambal (spicy chili based sauce)- very flavorful. The portion size was good. For drinks we got Matchamisu and Dirty Milo, both were good! Definitely will go back again.

Interior-- like I said, not too spacious, but good enough for small groups!

Dined in for breakfast on a Friday morning with a large group. Even then, we were able to all seat together by combining nearly all the tables in the space for ourselves. If there were any more people eating in, we would have definitely had to split up, as the seating space is relatively small. We were able to order and get our food quickly! The space has a nice fun vibe, and there's nice energetic music playing the background on an early morning. One of my pet peeves are places where the music doesn't match the mood of the weather, time of day, or type of restaurant. But they were on point here! All the food was fantastic. I ordered the nasi uduk--breakfast rice platter-- and a pistachio latte. One of the people in our group recently came back from a year in Indonesia and he attested to the legitimacy of the food we ate. I don't normally do well with spicy, but I ended up downing all the sambal on this plate-- delicious!

We went for late brunch today after seeing this place pop up a few times on my feed. We got the smashed chicken with garlic sauce, chicken congee and two matchamisu lattes. Everything was incredibly delicious and flavorful! Limited seating but we got lucky and found a table immediately after we placed our order. Staff was friendly and helpful with suggesting what to order. One thing I noticed is the floor was very dirty and because of my obsessive nature, I was very uncomfortable and constantly checking whether the hem of my jeans or my coat, which was hanging on the chair, wasn't touching the floor. That could be a "me" problem though. I imagine it would be better if the floor was cleaned between seatings but also I understand it would be difficult to do so if they constantly get traffic. I would definitely recommend it though because the food was bomb!

We have eaten at the high tops, in the main dining room, and at the tables extending into The Harper lobby, and each area feels like part of the same unified experience. The colors and lighting inside are especially warm and inviting, giving the room a glow that feels cozy and uplifting, especially during a Philadelphia winter. Food remains at the center of the experience, and my order is always the Jerusalem bagel with egg and cheese. On the rare occasions when turkey bacon appears, I add it as a welcome delicacy and a little extra sustenance, though the bagel is already delicious on its own. The cinnamon sugar kubaneh, the chocolate chip cookie, and the Bloody Mary are excellent. K'Far has also expanded its selection of bowls and salads since we ate here most regularly, and they look consistent with the quality of everything else. These days, a full breakfast here does not always fit within our budget, but I still make a point of stopping in for OX Coffee, which is delicious and, happily, roasted in Philadelphia. The Yemenite latte is another distinctive pleasure, aromatic and satisfying without feeling like a novelty created merely for attention. The staff is consistently charming, welcoming, and composed, and the team's continuity and energy suggest that people genuinely enjoy working here. When our budget allows, I will absolutely return to eat. Perhaps the clearest expression of K'Far's brilliance arrives in one memory from a cold, radiantly sunny Saturday, when "Inspector Norse" by the Norwegian producer Todd Terje comes through the speakers as the restaurant buzzes around us. The track, the worldly crowd, and the aroma from the kitchen create the elusive feeling Steve Cook and Mike Solomonov understand so well: people go out to eat because they want to feel seen and be briefly transported into a more vivid version of life. I already love K'Far and The Hoxton as separate brands, so seeing them come together at The Hoxton in Williamsburg feels like an unusually natural and exciting partnership. Creating this kind of social magnetism inside a bakery and café is a subtle achievement, and Philadelphia is richer for having a place with this much flavor, warmth, and personality.

Our server Rachel was lovely and gave us a rundown of their specials and the menu's top hits. Our drink selections ranged from as boring as a Diet Coke to as fun as a seasonal lemonade. We were all content with our choices, though we puttered around making suggestions from their large drink menu. I typically go for a savory breakfast, but the stuffed brioche French toast was speaking to me. I can never turn down banana! The rest of our table ordered avocado toast (x2) and fried eggs with bacon. Everyone was really happy with their choices and an added bonus was that our food came out quickly. I insisted everyone at our table try a bite of my massive stuffed brioche French toast and the consensus was that it was ridiculously good. Though this spot is tiny, it is not to be missed.

Luckily, we found street parking right next to the restaurant, which was a nice surprise. When we arrived, the wait for a table of three was about 45 minutes. That's somewhat expected for a popular brunch spot on a weekend. Once seated, the service was prompt. Our waiter stopped by quickly with waters and took good care of us throughout the meal. I ordered the House Angus Burger with sweet potato fries. It was solid, flavorful, and definitely filling. My friend got the Bella Vista Omelet with home fries, and we both agreed that while the food was good, it felt like standard brunch fare rather than anything particularly memorable. Based on the long wait and the hype surrounding Sabrina's, I think we were expecting the food to really stand out. In my opinion, the dishes we tried were comparable to what you'd find at a quality chain brunch spot like First Watch. That's not necessarily a bad thing, the food was satisfying, but it didn't quite justify the lengthy wait. That said, the menu has plenty of more unique and creative options that we didn't try. I'd be open to coming back and ordering one of those specialty dishes next time. Overall, I left satisfied with the meal and service.
