As a 40-something year old, 5ft tall , female I can tell you that I've experienced my share of being spoken to in a patronizing and condescending manner. I can tell you with great relief that this was not the case when I purchased my CrossTrek at Gresham Subaru. They were busy, but I did not feel uncomfortable or that I was being taken advantage of considering my disdain of big purchases. Luckily, I had a Costco membership so that pricing minimized any stress about what the fairest price was on a new car- Nicholas (Jr.) was able to offer me the exact model/color I wanted minus any extraneous fees (they had to bring it in from another dealer), or bullying tactics. I felt that Eric and Nicholas were very straightforward and transparent in with their communication. Whether a person is under pressure to sell or not is not my problem, as long as our exchanges were mutually respectful. David, while still a salesman, was actually a nice guy and showed me the ins and outs of the car. I wasn't there for a group hug and I suspect that these guys interact with a lot of frustrated people, so not crossing my arms and growling was a good way to start our deal. I did my research with Edmunds, CNET, MotorTown, KBB, etc, discussed the purchase/price over the phone (!) and was met with a price sheet at at the exact terms when I showed up at the dealer. If it helps, I received two prices sheets two months apart from a different dealer in town... Great selection, Excellent service. We checked out several Subaru dealerships before landing at Gresham Subaru. Their selection of cars is superior to any of the other dealerships we went to, and their salesmen are great. I've always owned Toyotas, and had never even sat inside a Suburu until I started shopping for an AWD vehicle. The staff did a great job of explaining the differences between Subaru models, as well as the difference between different years of the same model. I never felt any pressure from the salesmen, even when I told them I would need to sleep on it for a night. I went back the next day and purchased a Subaru Outback. The staff were very quick with the paperwork, and were able to get us in and out in no time. Bought my Subaru a year ago, along with a GAP policy. I'm in a good equity position now and decide to cancel it. So I call the dealer and speak with someone in finance. He told me it was no problem to cancel, I just need to come in and fill out a form. I ask if they can email it to me because the dealer is an hour's drive away. Guy tells me that I have to bring the car in so they can inspect the odometer. Fast forward an hour, I get to the dealership. Dude is expecting me and hands me the form. I ask "Don't you need to come inspect the odometer?" He answers "no, we'll take your word for it." Cool. Thanks for wasting 2 hours of my day, guy. read more

If i could give them 6 stars we would. Our awesome experiences with Bryan in service convinced us that we needed to be a Subaru family. So yesterday we decided to trade in our VW for a Crosstrek. We were able to schedule an appt ahead of time and they already had a number of used Crosstreks ready for us. We met with Beshara and talk about customer service. He really took care of us. They gave us a great deal and not once did we feel pressured. From Brent in Finance to James in management, our experience was amazing. Contacted the dealer through the Costco Auto Program, supposed to be a hassle free program, just give us a price. What a scam, the Gresham Subaru dealer wanted me to spend three hours, I am not making this up, three hours or explain the Costco process. What a rip off what a scam. My son found a new Outback he was interested in. Salesperson Lance turned us over to a new salesperson because he didn't think we would be approved. He didn't know I was going to co-sign for my son. We landed on a advertised Certified Pre-Owned Crosstrek 2021. Or so we thought. Turns out they posted it and advertised this car as a CPO but then they told us it wasn't. The car was lifted so they said it couldn't have a CPO done or an extended warranty. Later in the deal they offer my son an extended warranty at cost to make up for the mishap. Another sales manager Crystal tried to tell me during our negotiations of the price that there was no difference in a regular used car versus one that was certified. Which is absolutely false. We didn't land on a agreed price, so my son went to lunch. They sent him a text lying to him that someone else was interested in the car and took it for a test drive. Little did they know my son camped out across the street and the car never moved from where he parked it. Lies lies and more misunderstandings. This dealership has absolutely no integrity and does not know what good customer service actually is. I would not recommend anyone to this dealership what so ever! I had been eyeing the Crosstrek for a while and finally decided I was going to test one out. Tracey helped me out from start to finish with an immeasurable amount of kindness and respect. I originally wasn't planning on buying that day but it worked out really perfectly that the car I had been looking for was right there. This being my first time buying a car by myself and going alone I was very much in the dark even though i had done my research and knew what I wanted to pay. Tracey worked so hard to get me the best possible deal I could get for this car, and he did! Like I said, I wasn't planning on buying a car that day but they worked out a deal for me that was way too good to pass up. Tracey was very knowledgeable, kind and genuine, I felt like I was treated with a great amount of respect the entire time I was there. I am so grateful to ahve been treated so well as this was my first time buying a car by myself and i was treated with nothing but respect. I would highly recommend anyone interested in a Subaru to check these guys out! Also I think its important to state that doing this during COVID, I felt very safe and comfortable knowing that everyone was practicing social distancing, wearing masks and sanitizing regularly. My brand new 2011 Subaru Outback wagon was involved in an accident recently and we took it to Gresham Subaru Body Shop for repair. JIm has been fabulous to work with and we are very pleased with the way the vehicle turned out. Jim was very diligent in helping us to identify a rattle that started after the impact, a few trips back and forth and it is finally gone. Bought a 2014 Impreza from Tracy last year and a 2015 STI from Maurice this year. Will be back again! The service department is straightforward and honest. The sales department does not play games. I went to Gresham Subaru to purchase an Outback after I attended the Portland auto show. I was looking at cars outside when no one came to help us, we went inside, stood for 10 minutes expecting to get some help, no one helped us so we went back outside to look again for another 20 minutes thinking someone will help. There were employees standing around talking. No one acknowledged us so we left and went to Gresham Toyota and purchased a RAV 4 Limited. I would give zero star. read more

And while my car was in service, one of my friends was there looking to test drive cars and looked at my car! Highly, highly dissatisfied with Gresham Subaru Service Department. I had Gresham replace the FT windshield (recall 2015 Outback) along with suggested auto maintenance (oil, air & cabin filter change plus tire rotation). I specifically requested the cabin filter to be changed to the initial intake person (Bryan). Hours later when checking out I noticed the invoice did not show the cabin air filter had been changed. When I asked about this no one (including the service manager) was able to verify it had been changed or not. ??!! It is no easy task to change out that particular filter and by this time I was anxious to finally leave. I did not pursue the matter with Gresham. On the way home I noticed black oily hand prints left from the person that installed the windshield. The prints covered both light gray columns inside the car on either side of the front window and worse still there was a 2X1" glob of dried glue on the outside paint. I take pride in keeping my car clean both inside and out and prior to going to Gresham I had just hand washed and detailed my car. I was 100% sure the glue came from Gresham. I stopped off at another Subaru dealership on the way home to have them check the windshield installation and they were shocked to see how filthy both sides of the new windshield filthy was. They cleaned it for me at no charge. Needless to say, I was upset to see Gresham has no concern for keeping customers cars intact while in the service center. I tried several products but nothing would safely remove the dried glue. I finally had to scrape it off risking damaging the paint itself. Later when I returned the service manager (who reminded me of a creepy used car salesman) made a feeble attempt to remove the black handprints with Windex but only managed to remove part of the oily grime. I had to work to remove the remainder. Even the mileage was logged in incorrectly on invoice (1122 mile discrepancy). Further, I noticed my camp headlamp which I ALWAYS keep in the car console was missing never to be found. I'm the only person that drives my car and the only persons that had access to my car was Gresham employees. Theft alone is reason enough to never go back, but factor in the service glitch, the total disregard for keeping my car clean and undamaged while being serviced and the flippant attitude of the manager I DO NOT TRUST this dealership. I'd drive 100s of miles out of the way to avoid ever returning to Gresham Subaru dealership. If you find yourself having to use the service department I highly suggest you take anything removable or of value out of your car before handing ONLY the car key over to the service department, get everything in writing beforehand and double check the invoice BEFORE AND AFTER plus very carefully inspecting your car before you leave. Better yet....go elsewhere to more reputable and organized dealership. read more

Jeff and Ivan rule. Straight up, this was the easiest car buying experience ever. Just call Jeff up and tell him what you're looking for and he'll be super straight with you on pricing and get you a good deal. I contacted him and told him the car I wanted. When I came in for an appointment, he showed me the invoice price, the MSRP and we worked out the price in like 10 mins. Being a recent college graduate, I'm still establishing my credit. On paper I didn't qualify for Subaru's best financing, but Ivan got me qualified for the APR I wanted and the finance term in less than a day. I worked with Ivan for the rest of the process and in person when my WRX arrived from Japan. The whole experience was 100% pleasant and I'll be buying my next new Subaru from Jeff and Ivan as well. Also, I want to add that the parts department at Gresham Subaru is awesome as well. They actually are passionate about Subarus and know what they are selling. read more

Went in with the idea to buy but a specific style. Was met up by a very judgmental and rude associate. Never stated his name but once he found out we were interested in the STI he called us "rice-ers" and said he never sells these cars because he hates them. Asked if we were trading in a car and once he found out our car is in California he said he hates working with people like us, that we probably need a co-signer and want to test drive cars all day long. He then stated he wanted us to be honest with him and if we aren't going to buy a car then tell him so he doesn't waste his time because he has to make a living and if we are going to be persistent about test driving then he'll find someone else to help us. read more

Don't ever think about buying a car there are giving them your business. There's many other reputable dealerships that will stand behind their mechanic work and their cars. This place is a joke.The worst experience I've ever had buying a used car. Nicolas Hourani was the rudest person I've ever met in sales and should not be a manager of any car lot.I went there thinking I would get a quality used car. Took it home started running rough coolant leaking etc. Took it to Mini Cooper Of Portland because it was a Mini Cooper they found all kinds of stuff wrong with it it's like they didn't even check it over first. So they addressed the repairs 5000 miles later it's done.. Plus the dealership won't work on the car then when you sell a car you guys should work on them when they sold me the car they said they were able to work on it that was a lie. Very shady stay clear you might as well go to the gypsies on 82nd St. because they're just as bad.. very very disappointed and they're very rude also. Don't waste your time even new cars are way overpriced. And next time I buy a new car I will buy it online and skip the dealership entirely.. read more

I went into Gresham Subaru to test drive a vehicle and was treated with very poor customer service. I was immediately bombarded and asked if I wanted to buy today. I took a test drive and thought on it over night. The next day I walked into the suburu dealership once more with a sufficient amount of cash in hand to purchase a vehicle. When my mother and I made an offer a counter offer was presented. From there they refused to negotiate further. The price they came back with was not reasonable for the vehicle. While having a check on the table they also offered for me to take out a loan... kind of insulting. I was more than willing to negotiate with them but they were not willing to negotiate a fair price with me. I believe this was due to the sex of my mother and I "SEXISM" and the fact that they believed they would be able to stick us a firm price and not budge believing that we would fall for it. I went back later in the day to talk about my experience with "the boss" and he was even worse than the sales man. He had the attitude of speaking to people like they are stupid (condescending)...and that our opinion or voice isn't valid. I believe that was due to the fact that he was speaking to two 20 somethings "AGEISM" When hearing my opinion on the sexism he stormed off and became very defensive. This overall was a terrible experience and I don't believe I will ever go near this dealership again. If you don't like sexist or agist car shopping, don't give your money to these people. read more

The showed me a clean CarFax with now accident history but now that I'm going to sell it, there is a substantial damage report from just over a year before I bought the car. I reached out to the dealership by requesting a test drive via their website late Monday night. The next morning I received an email from Cybil offering to meet with me. It was great that she provided a cell phone number for easy communication so I could let her know we were running late and even ask questions in the meantime. When we arrived, we immediately jumped into our vehicle of choice. She was accommodating to the fact that we had our 1yr old with us so my husband and I had to take turns test driving. They even provided me with their private conference room so I could nurse my son and not worry about him falling down steps while he ran around. Nice touch ;) Cybil was very personable, friendly and didn't pressure us into anything at all. She came across as genuine and that's more than I would ever expect from someone selling me a car. Once we made our choice and moved onto paperwork/financing, the process was time consuming.. but in my experience this is always the case when buying a car. One caveat! And this has nothing to do with Cybil. I do wish they would streamline their pre-qual application process to save steps on the lot. We had filled out an app on their website Monday hoping to be pre-approved in an effort to save time (with our awesome 1yr old and all) but we ended up filling out the same paperwork at the dealership when the time came. Not a big deal, just repetitive. Overall it was a pleasurable experience and we are very happy with our purchase :) read more

I sought Gresham Subaru's help with an issue with the steering on my brand new Subaru Outback (350 miles). I had been to another Subaru dealer in the area who had refused to do anything to assist me with repairing it, aside from claiming that it was normal and that I didn't know how All Wheel Drive vehicles were supposed to operate. After that earlier experience, I was becoming seriously disillusioned with my new car and the brand. Gresham Subaru completely turned that around. From the time I called, to the time that I came in, and to now, the treatment that I received from everyone there was exceptional. The service department is filled with people who clearly love their jobs, who love Subaru cars, and who genuinely care about their customers. Everyone there went the extra mile to figure out what was wrong with my car and to restore my faith in my car and the brand. Unfortunately, it is a very long drive from where i live to this dealership. Its about a one-hour drive each way, and so if I go there, drop off the car, drive home, drive back, pick up the vehicle, and then drive home, its a four hour endeavor. If they need to order a part, which they did this time, that means I'll spend EIGHT hours on the road. Of course, this isn't their fault. It is Subaru of America's fault that they don't have a dealer with the Gresham's quality over on my side of town. If I lived locally, I would definitely come here for service. And if I decided to get another Subaru (which I'm not sure that I do at this point given the low quality dealerships in my area), I would give the sales department an opportunity to earn my business. read more

Just got my 2019 Ascent Touring last week and want to say I will go no where else for buying or servicing a Subaru! I traded in my 2017 legacy limited got a fair trade in value and my sales person did a awesome job and was in contact with me through the whole process.. fast forward to today had a check engine light come on called Kanoe and she told me to come right in and meet her at the service sept. I was out of there in 15 minutes! No big deal with car just computer was sending codes goofy , anyways awesome sales people and awesome service dept!!!(have used before... always stellar!! The worst experience I've ever had with a car dealership. I came here to buy my first car, a 2018 Nissan Rogue. They helped me set up financing and I drove off the lot the same day. The next day they called me and asked me to come in because "a signature was missed". I drove back because it didn't seem like too big of a deal. When I got there, they told me they couldn't do the financing and I would have to either agree to a 5% rate INCREASE or return the car. Luckily, I stick up for myself, something they clearly did not expect of a 19 year old woman. The finance guy panicked and disappeared to talk with the manager. He finally figured out and approved a different lender and gave me a discount off the (already inflated) warranty on the car. I won right? Wrong. About a month later I decided to cancel the warranty since it seemed a waste of money. I had to call many times before anyone got back to me. They assured me it was off the loan balance, but more than 6 weeks later it was not done. I had to call, email, and text to get someone to resubmit the request. When I bought the car, the sales associate had given me two key fobs, one with a dead battery. He assured me it was an easy fix and I just needed to replace the battery if I ever needed the backup key. He then sent me off with the gas tank empty on the car I had just paid almost $20,000 on. Over a week ago I lost my primary key. I ordered a new battery for the second one. I replaced the battery (easy enough), and then realized the key is not programmed to my car. Now I have no way to move the car which has to be programmed by a professional. I've been contacting the car dealership since Saturday and keep being told "the service department will get back to you when they can", but no one ever contacts me. It's now Tuesday. I've had to borrow a car from someone so I can work. These people clearly don't care about you once they've drained you of your money. I am livid. They should be paying to reprogram my key. Now I'm going to have to pay a locksmith to come to my rural house. Worst experience ever. Buying a car off craigslist would be better. read more

I rarely write reviews, but this situation has really irked me. My roommate went to this dealership today and bought a 2015 Subaru Impreza. They informed her that they would give her a $25k car for the price of $21.5k. We discussed this deal back at the house and I looked up the car to compare the features from the base model she was considering to the Premium model they sold her. Come to find out $21.5k is the MSRP of the car, not $25k as the dealership had informed her. We called the dealership and what they told her is that there was a $2.5k ADM (Additional Dealer Markup). So the dealer is charging even more than the MSRP which already has profit built into the vehicle cost for the dealership. This ADM charge was not disclosed to her at all even though they say that they did. All they told her is that she was getting a $25k car for $21.5 making it sound like she got a deal. In reality she got a $21.5k car for $21.5k. I asked them to email a copy of their ADM notice that they say she was provided and they would not. They would only discuss this if we came into the dealership. They did not care and would not do anything to correct the situation. I will ensure that everyone I know is aware of this dealer so that they do not ever purchase from them. read more

They put up deliberately misleading offers on their website as a ploy to get you to come to the dealership.
