I have known Greg for over 40 years. I would not do business with him or his company for anything. My most recent experience with him was, I called and made an appointment for him to come and do a recharge on my air conditioner. We scheduled the appointment. I called him a day or two prior to the appointment to make sure he was coming, as to not waste my time being home for nothing and not getting something else done. The day of the appointment I waited for him to show up and after an hour of waiting I called him to find out he was on someone's roof in Burbank and had no intention of coming to my appointment today. I was a little frustrated at the fact he did not call me and let me know he was not coming as that would be the respectful thing to do if you valued my time as important, apparently not. I made another appointment with him and asked him to please call if he would not be able to make it. "I understand" things change. To this date I have not heard from him, not to mention he never showed up. This was over 6 months ago. I forgot to mention at the time I was trying to get this service call, we were experiencing record heat and it was well over 100 degrees inside my house. When I would talk with Greg he would say all the right things and express so much concern for my situation of being without air conditioning in a record heat wave and then he would not show up or call me to let me know he was not coming. After my experience with Greg, a friend of mine told me of her experience with him which was very similar to mine. He would say he was coming and never show up. If his prices were severely reduced I could maybe deal with the lack of professionalism and irresponsibility. These guys have one star and a shitty reputation for a reason! The first time they came out, I was greeted by this technician who tried using a bunch of technobable to sound smart. Needless to say, he didn't know my background is IT, and after spending about 20 minutes looking dumb, the owner, Greg Estel, comes by and ends up replacing my thermostat for a problem with my floor heater. Well, the problem isn't totally solved, so Greg comes himself about a month and a half later (because their receptionist kept telling me he'd be by, and he'd either no show, with the reason being that they had "more important" jobs that came first). When Greg did show up the second time, he spent more time looking at my liquor cabinet than he did looking at my heater/thermostat. He claimed he didn't drink when I asked him which of my whiskys he liked, but I heard from some neighbors who have hired him in the past that he was both an alcoholic and a former tweaker. Lovely... So what really prompted me to finally write a review on them (and not have to worry about retaliation) is when they came for a third time to fix my problem. Apparently, the thermostat they installed the first time around was faulty, and my problem is solved for the most part, but one of the two convict-looking techs stole my Tag Heuer watch - while I was home. They showed up super early in the morning, so I wasn't quite awake enough after studying the night before, plus there were two of them. When I confronted the owner's wife (Laura Estel, office manager) about this, she was very hostile and said I needed to provide proof of ownership and have an attorney contact them. Really? So you're basically admitting you took the watch and you want me to prove it's mine? Trust me, I wouldn't have chosen this joke of a company if it weren't my landlord's choice for sending them out, but buyer beware, especially if you're not able to defend yourself from 2 ex-con's who will try to pick up an extra bonus while at a job. read more

If I could give this guy a zero I would but if you like being ripped off then use Greg, He dosen't return calls quickly, makes appointments and is a no show not just 1 time but several but my biggest concern is how he charges,he serviced one of my units and it took 19# of 134A the charge for just the freon no labor was $701, I looked up the cost of a 30# cyl of that product and it could be purchased for $89,now I understand making a profit and don't expect him to work for nothing but I wish in my business I could purchase something at $89 and sell at $701. Greg at the end of the conversation said he would call and let us know when he would arrive the following day. Made arrangement to be home Greg never called and follow up attempts went unanswered. today i called greg's refrigeration to set up an emergency appointment to fix my refrigeration issue (1030am) , when i called i was answered by a call service, as a business owner my self i knew that he must of been busy so i left my info, later at around 11am ish greg calls me and we discuss my problem with my unit and he advised me that he was busy at that time but that he would be free and at my place of business at around 1pm....therefore i left my l.a. business at 1230pm to meet with mr. greg at my other business in the san gabriel valley only to be stood up....i was furious because of his unprofessionalism this guy never even bothered calling me to say, by the way i'm running late or by the i've been delayed, or anything in that manner to make a new possible customer appreciated....but not a freakin phone call so final i left back to my other business back to la..at around after 5pm because i was tired of calling without any luck of reaching , just ring ring ring .... then on the road i get a phone call from greg form greg's refrigeration...and verbatim he says to me ...yeah this is greg and i got busy today but if you can put your food on ice i can be there tomorrow morning to check out the problem,,,,,,are u serious i said how about im sorry or hey man im sorry...for not answering your calls earlier for what ever reason.....but nothing at all...as if his time is more valuable than mine or yours as business owner...listen i dont know if this guy is good or not at what he does ...im just want to get my point across , that this is not good business practice...if you are not going to make a certain appointment ....take 2min and make that phone call...dont waste our/my time.....and aon top of it you wanted the fee was.....$84.00 to come to my business and $84.00 an hr for each hr after that......good luck mr gregs refrigeration......................i've found someone else,,, cheaper, reliable, and on time..............go!!!!!! glendora refrigeration repair read more
