Excellent brunch in Edinburgh that absolutely hits the spot!
We went to Greenwoods in Edinburgh after a transatlantic red-eye flight. We found out about it from just googling "brunch in Edinburgh" and read a spate of positive reviews across many platforms.
As a party of 2, we were seated quickly around 9:30am on a Saturday morning. The space can feel cramped, but the staff does a good job making sure that all seats have enough room. The ambiance is cool too, with several trendy artistic touches and Scottish portraits on the walls. There were several other diners present.
For drinks, we got a Latte and a Flat White, both of which were excellent. For food, we ordered The Veggie Breakfast and a Scrambled Eggs. Both were tasty and hit the spot perfectly, with the paneer and potatoes in The Veggie Breakfast being particularly notable. The portions were sizable, and especially as vegetarians, we definitely got bang for our buck, which is only sometimes the case at many UK restaurants (in our experience).
We got the Apple Tart for dessert (ended up packing it for takeaway), which was also very tasty and a fun treat to cap off the morning.
Throughout our time, the service was prompt and friendly. We will absolutely return if back in Edinburgh. read more
