TL;DR: Bait-and-switch on my stylist, butchered haircut, arrogant stylist with zero personality, and "solution" from the owner. I've been stuck with this disaster for nine months. Avoid this salon at all costs. Pics 1-3 the day of the butchering Pics 4-6 the awful growing out phase (Full review below for those who want details.) I booked an appointment specifically with "Sara" after doing my homework and reading her glowing reviews. But when I showed up, they told me to go sit with Daniela -- no notice, no consent, no explanation. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how shady their business practices are. She didn't introduce herself or ask my name, she actually seemed annoyed I existed. The haircut itself? An absolute train wreck. I brought clear inspiration photos, which she completely ignored. Instead, Daniela hacked away at my fine, thin hair with heavy, random and excessive point cutting. She never once showed me the back of my head during the cut -- just kept cutting and cutting randomly. Me being naive, and trusting this stranger/professional I thought- oh this must be a new technique. The end result was butchered, choppy layers that I never asked for. The only way to hide the damage was by styling my hair into "waves" -- which I rarely do b/c of the heat damage from the curling iron. I walked in with a sleek straight blowout (the way I actually wear my hair) and left with waves I didn't ask for, just so the flaws wouldn't be obvious right away. The second I wore it straight again, the disaster was clear. To make matters worse, while she was butchering my hair, she bragged about how she does the best hair in the salon and how the salon uses her work on their Instagram page without giving her credit. I actually felt badly for her before I had seen the mess she made on my head. When I called to complain about paying over $120 for this mess, the owner's "solution" was to wait a couple of months for my hair to grow back and then come back for another "free" cut. Seriously? After you bait-and-switched my stylist and destroyed my hair, you expect me to trust you again? It's been nine months, and my hair still hasn't recovered. I've wasted hundreds of dollars in styling tools and products- trying to disguise the damage. Nothing works, because the cut itself was fundamentally botched. The shortests layers are so short I would need a full chop by my ears and I just could not. This salon brags about helping you "achieve the look you desire." What a joke. They do the exact opposite -- deceitful booking, sloppy work, zero accountability, and stylists who spend more time bragging than actually doing good hair. If you care about your hair at all, avoid this place like the plague. read more

Disappointed. I was very clear explaining what I wanted to accomplish. Unfortunately the result was quite opposite. I expressed my disappointment almost 2 months later as I was hoping the hair would recover a bit with time. Not much can be done to reverse the damage caused. I let my hair grow out and recover a bit longer before I visited a new salon. I posted a pic to show what condition my hair was in prior to the visit and after. I am also adding a pic of the quality of work done the yellow line, it shouldn't look like that. Baby light show dimension, here it was lost. I did ask to have my color more platinum and received brassy yellow undertone, the right side different shade of blonde of the left side. I had a hard time posting a negative review, and I did email the owner. She said she will get back to me but never did. I am not angry but I am posting an honest review of my experience. I feel that the young lady that did this to my hair is not qualified to work independently and on this caliber and price point. Do not fall for the Groupon scam. I was offered a discount of approx $140 for Keratin and conditioning and the stylist added a toner and snipped some of my ends without asking. I walked out of there paying $270 which was no less than a normal treatment. She was also brutal brushing out my hair like she was angry and to the point I had to tell her to stop pulling so hard a couple of times because it was painful and breaking my hair. That said, they were fast but I don't like the bait & switch tactic that they used. Never going back! They were rude and had a factory mentality. read more

Really really overly unhappy with this salon. 1. I specified when making the appointment that I wanted to blend my outgrown balayage with an ombré hair (2yrs of no dying) because my wedding is less than a month away and the blonde ends look terrible in a updo. The person who I spoke to over the phone INSISTED no problem bc they had a "master colorist" open. 2. When I got there I met my stylist, Christine, who said maybe about 4 words the entire 3 hrs I was there. 3. I sat down to explain what I wanted and before I could even pull out a picture she got up to mix the dye... how?? 4. It took over an hour for her to do a "balayage" which was basically poor placed highlights going either too the top of my head or an inch lower (with MULTIPLE PATCHES!) 5. She started with the back of my head first, after and hour I got put under the hairdryer... so guess what, I got white streaks in the back of my hair 6. the toner was left on for less than 5 min and when she asked me how I liked the color after blow drying the front, I told her it was too ashy and her response was "come back a week before the wedding" ha!!!! Never 7. The worst part which bugs me the most... she alone (no other person in the salon) did my hair from beginning to end. So Christine had the nerve to blow dry my hair and pretend not to notice the terrible Kobe she did. I will absolutely never go here again and make sure everyone I know from here to NYC know not to either. And did I call them after realizing the mess they did? No bc Unless they want to refund me there is no point. No one in that Salon is properly trained. read more

Catherine has been my stylist for a while now, and I'm so glad she's at this salon! Her work is amazing and this salon allows it to shine so bright with the brands they use!!! For the color sessions my hair takes to do, a few hours in the chair is QUICK versus most places. Catherine is careful and precise with color mixing, placement and honesty for adjustments based on your skin type. Pricing is amazing for what I get (bleaching, coloring, cuts) for my vibrant rainbow tones. Not to mention, right now, she's working on a healing broken ankle! I'm back with another 5 star review. My last visit to the salon was the last time I got my hair dyed with caramel balayage. (Don't make fun of me but it took 10 months for me to finally bite the bullet and cut my hair). THATS how good of a job Sara did with my hair the first time around. The coloring lasted through all the inches it grew between then. I debated going to try new places that were more convenient and also shop around for prices, but to me, it was obvious that I should just go back. And I'm happy I did! I wanted something bolder this time around. Purple. Yup, purple. I came in on a Saturday morning and told Sara my choice of color. Very specifically I added that I wanted something bold, but in between "bam in your face" and "subtle." And she did just that! I was so happy with the outcome of the coloring. A lot of people do a double take when they see my hair but it's always been followed with a compliment! They also gave me three different samples of hair treatments with purple dye in it to help prolong the color in my hair. I'm very glad they did! Some colors don't stick as well as others and purple is one of them. I've been using a shampoo to help the dye stay in and stay vibrant. It still looks as good as new. Thanks again Sara! Very rude and unprofessional hair stylist. When I got there i was told that we can't do what I had in mind with my Hair which was disappointing but understandable. In fact i appreciated her honesty, i wish i would have been told that on the phone in advance before driving over there tho. But then she walked over to her coworker and was venting about how I was expecting her to do this color when it's impossible to achieve with my natural hair color which i thought was unnecessary and made me feel uncomfortable. Then she kept pointing over to a blond customer saying that with my hair color I could never achieve that kind of light shade. Then I asked her what are my options what can I do and she got snappy and rude. She was like.." what do you want?" Pretty much trying to get this over with. People go to the hair salon not just to get their hair done but to also pamper themselves and have a positive relaxing experience. NOT WITH THIS LaDY!! I don't know what her name was but she had curly blond short hair, avoid her if you can. She seemed mad that I would even ask her for a 2 color ombré look probably cause it takes too long and she wanted to go home. Horrible! So I purchased a groupon for the cut + balayage deal, looking for a new salon closer to CT/NY area. I called in about a month in advance, receptionist was able to schedule me for the exact day and time I needed. I also had no issues upon mentioning I had a Groupon. Looks like if you reasonably book in advance, Greenwich Top will work with you. Groupon buyers, don't expect much flexibility if you are looking for a next day appointment with any salon.. and if you do get a last minute booking, consider that a blessing, not a right. Checked in, everyone was very nice! Toni helped me with my dried out messed up head of hair. It turned out great, not to bright or dark plum. Let me start off by saying Sarah is a miracle worker! She is hands down the best hair dresser I have ever had work on my hair. I came to her a few months ago with brassy orange, yellow and brown hair, a different "certified" hairdresser ruined my hair. Luckily, I found Sarah who gave me a consultation and then lifted my brassy, blonde highlights to a much cooler toned baby blonde, in ONE session, without damaging my hair! Sarah is a very professional, experienced hairdresser. She has worked her magic on me and now I am a lifelong client! I am delighted that Sarah has opened her very own salon. It has a perfect location in Greenwich (right next to all the shops!) and there is plenty of parking in the lot across the street. Walking into Greenwich top salon, I felt warmly welcomed, and the salon itself is bright and beautiful. Sarah has done a wonderful job designing her salon and it is immaculately clean! The entire place is very chic, and Sarah has invested in some of the best salon equipment like the revolving hair dryer (see pic) and the back massage chairs by the sink! Sarah is truly an artist. I have very thick curly hair, yet she took her time and patiently painted on each highlight making sure each section was covered. I received a full head of highlights, glaze, an Olaplaex treatment, and best of all I was in and out in less then two hours! I always feel so rejuvenated after leaving Sarah and my hair has never looked better! I have received so many compliments and it's all thanks to Sarah, thank you so much! P.s. There are so many other services offered here like waxing, manicures, pedicures, and Sarah also does makeup! There's also a lot of beautiful jewelry for sale. While i had a fine and comfortable experience at this Salon with Sarah, I was shocked when I got home to find what was under the freshly blown out hair. I got a full head of highlights, cut and a styling blow dry. From the moment Sarah started my foils to the moment I was back in my car driving home was an hour and 15 minutes...the fastest and most rushed experience I have ever had. I will let the photos show what I left the salon with, yellow looking highlights and tiger stripes all along my scalp, from her not putting the foil against my scalp, I assume. 3 stars for nice clean place. Parking is rough. So i purchased a Groupon for one Keratin treatment. A keratin treatment is hair straightening that should last at least a month! I asked this when making the appointment. I went to my appt on a Thursday and Donna did a great job so i thought. I was told she was using B24 which had less chemicals. Great! So I waited 5 days to wash it. After that first wash with keratin sulfate free shampoo my wavy hair was back! I emailed & reached out to the salon to see if there was something they can do. As everyone was saying that is not normal and especially for $145 + $50tip. Their response was: "You received a b24 keratin not a straightener keratin which is something totally different and not something we do here." Uuummm i purchased a keratin Groupon?! At a time that was not busy, she cut snippets of my hair, then stopped, ran to another customer, did something to their hair then disappeared from the scene, then cut more snippets of my hair, then ran off again and so on. While she sent a substitute to deal with my hair at times. The 2 stylists exchanged themselves between the different customers. My friend who went there for hair coloring / styling / treatment experiences the same thing. Sara rushed through straightening her hair, and as a result the treatment did not hold long. While Sara is talented and nice, and friendly. she and her team fail to take enough time with a customer, to evaluate their hairs and to determine what they need. Yea I get it, they are busy and overbook. But hair stylists should focus and take the necessary time and measures for a client's hair-- not be running sprints or laps around the room from person to person, while sending less senior stylists to take over randomly for them-- especially not for a simple cut that doesn't take much time in the first place. In the end, my haircut was not what I wanted. I wanted to go back and get it fixed but then didn't want to deal with the same treatment of being rushed and ignored. Horrible! The stylist (I forgot her name but she had curly blonde hair ) was so rough with my hair, i got highlights here only to find out later on that it wasn't blended correctly! Looked like i had a huge line, literally ruined my hair (super dry probably cause there wasn't any bond solution put into it like olaplex etc) , i think she used a higher volume, while it was processing i saw my roots turned white obviously she didn't even know the basic rule in leaving the roots for bleaching later on. I came in for a balayage, haircut, and blowout yesterday. This was my first time getting my hair professionally colored, so I was a little nervous. My hair stylist, Terry, was absolutely wonderful! She and I spoke throughout my time there and she made me feel at ease. She ensured that my hair was colored properly all over before washing the color out, even if that meant me staying longer in the chair. She stuck with the description I gave her as to what I wanted and charged me exactly the price quoted upfront. First off let me begin by saying that I have been to Sara here a few times in the past and I have been extremely happy with everything. But I went 2 weeks ago and paid over $300 for a full balyage with Kim and after a couple of days I noticed big patches off 3 inch long roots at the back and in some more areas so I called and the soonest I could get in was 2 weeks later (today). So I end up waiting almost an hour after my appointment and she adds a few more bleach foils and glaze. Then tells me to dry my own hair. I find this unacceptable after it was her mistake in the first place. Needless to say I will not be back and will no longer be recommending. I had another wonderful haircut with Kim today. This was my third visit-started to come here during the quarantine. I travel from Queens and the ride is just about a half hour. Well worth the trip. What a disastrous experience. These people barely speak English which should have been a warning sign from the beginning. It took 4 phone calls for the front desk to make an appointment. The woman who cut my hair was a total nightmare - I asked for a trim and she chopped off my hair. Im still waiting for it to grow back.
