I contacted Ryuji and he was able to get me into his schedule right away. When I arrived, I explained that another stylist had messed up my haircut, and he completely fixed it. He took the time to carefully shape and correct everything, and the result looks amazing. I'm so happy with how my hair turned out. I highly recommend him and will definitely be going back! read more

I recently booked a last minute appointment with Ryuji for my mother as part of her Mother's Day gift for a much needed haircut. Ryuji gave her a fabulous haircut and style using his incredible precision haircutting skills that truly left me in awe as I watched him work his magic. Ryuji is a master at his craft and so personable and nice. I highly recommend Ryuji if you're looking for a new style, to update your existing style or to simply leave the salon feeling fabulous! read more

Ryuji is a true artist, as he takes his time in doing your haircut and is very meticulous in his details. I have found him to be very accommodating with appointments as I have been known to make spur of the moment decisions when it comes to haircuts. During COVID he is extremely careful with his clients, taking temperature, limited occupancy, cleaning between steps. Lucky to have discovered this great stylist. read more

Ryuji gave me an honest and thoughtful appraisal following my another stylist's botched processing of my hair. He was very helpful.

Definitely more of the more expensive haircuts I have gotten but they really take the time to cut your hair and the cut lasts for a good 6-8 months which makes up for the cost. The cut grows out very nicely and if it wasn't because my bangs were bugging me, I would have waited even longer to get it cut again. Also brought my BF here to get a cut - which is pretty pricely for men, and the fact that he requires a cut way more often - but BF was very happy with the way it grew out that he is going again. read more

The best! Gave me the most amazing haircut ever. Really listens and makes the experience lovely.! will be back very soon

Like most of the reviewers, I am a former city dweller that found Ryuji through Yelp. (thank you!). I've had my hair toyed with too many times and stick to the pros. Ryuji is nothing short of perfection and his assistant is very skilled, as well. WHAT I LOVE: Easy scheduling, the most amazing shampoo EVER, and you'll still look like you get your hair done in the city. CONS: I really don't have any other than if you're into a salon that has a trendy interior and amenities, you'll be disappointed as Ryuji keeps it simple. read more

It's a great experience to be here. The price is a little bit high, should be three $$$. You can have two hair wash, one hair cut and a short massage with it. They are very professional in haircut and will be back next time. It costs about $65 for men. read more

Ryuji is the best! I have been trying to find a good hair stylist after moving to CT. After 3 not so great experiences at salons nearer to my home, i decided to give Ryuji a try even though its about 20 mins drive for me. I got a hair straightening treatment done here. The treatment looks great on my hair. Its been 4 months since I took the treatment and it still looks great. The hair texture looks natural enough that the new growth blends in. He is very meticulous and the whole process didn't take too long either, compared to other places. His approach is very honest and he doesn't try to needlessly sell products ands services. The place is very clean. He also followed all the necessary COVID guidelines. He is also extremely polite! I am glad I decided to make the drive and discovered this stylist. read more

I called for an appointment near the holidays and was accommodated for the following day. Shuya washed my hair thoroughly, massaged my scalp well. Then he gave a meticulous haircut. With the blowout, it was $$$ for women's shoulder length hair. He breathed new life into my hair. I'm very pleased. Will return. read more

Absolutely amazing. Best experience I have had in a while. They really go the extra mile. And its closer than commuting into NYC.

Just had my hair thermally reconditioned (Japanese straightened) for the first time ever, and it looks and feels so good! Ryuji took his time and was very focused on doing a good job. My natural hair is wavy and gets frizzy in the summer. Now it is very sleek and straight with no damage. I'm so glad I took the plunge and tried something new. There are other salons that will do it for a cheaper price, but I wanted to go to Ryuji because I knew that he wouldn't damage my hair! Highly recommended. read more

I went to this Salon with high hopes after reading other Yelp endorsements. This was one of the MOST expensive cuts ever and one of, if not THE, worst hair cut of my life. The blow dry hid a lot and when I got home I was horrified. My request when I arrived was to leave the length I have I just want to lose the bulk. He did the EXACT opposite. He took off all my length and left the bulk which leaves me with this super thick mushroom like cut. It is not any style at all. Awful. I actually went to another salon and paid $120 to have them somewhat fix it. Here's whats so weird too, the guy told me to book my hair cut appointment for an hour and a half. An hour and a half for a haircut??? It took THAT long! The guy was trying to figure out how to cut my hair (I am not Japanese-they are) additionally the mirrors are these huge gothic gold gilded full length or landscape framed mirrors turned sideways and they have them propped up at an angle on the floor in front of you so you-and the stylist, are getting this strange distorted look at yourself looking down from above at an angle. What a horrible waste of $95 and my time. I hate spending money and then having to wait months to even have a crack at the look I was going for. read more

Attention, please, it not two dollars at all, it is actually three dollars! It cost me 100 dollars for a short hair cut! Why do they put the two dollar sign on it!? read more

After 2 years of commuting back into NYC just to get my haircut, I threw in the towel and decided to find a local place in Greenwich. I did a lot of research and was deciding between 2 salons, this being my first choice based on a number of metrics. Ryuji cut my hair and it was not only a relaxing spa-like experience but also the cut was exactly what I was looking for. I dare say he's better than the stylist I was commuting into NYC for, so thanks Ryuji. From the moment I sat down, I felt comfortable that I would be leaving with a good cut. While he's not inexpensive when it comes to haircuts, he's reasonable at $95 (before tip). His colleague is $80 who I might try if Ryuji is booked and I need a last minute cut. I like that there are only 2 seats since it adds to the serene environment and makes the experience feel very personal and tailored to each customer. Nice convenient location at the corner of Putnam and Greenwich Ave. read more

I need a blowout every week, and so when I moved to Greenwich, I tried different places so I wouldn't have to go to NYC every week just for a blowout. So I tried a few places (GOOD places, and one was a dry bar, so how could they mess it up so badly??--I could barely show my face in public). I was starting to think that I was doomed to commute (my hair is fine and very curly, and I have short hairs from a recent twin pregnancy, so it's not easy I admit). But then I discovered RYUJI!! My hair looks so great that I feel like a slightly prettier person since meeting him. To boot, he puts a hot towel under my neck during the wash and it always loosens a knot that I have. He's very methodical and thorough, and it's always a pleasure start to finish. I leave sleek and relaxed. I'm glad I didn't give up the search, and felt that I had to post about it. read more

I have been going to Ryuji for about five years and have always come out very, very happy with my haircuts and styling. I love going to see him because i get such great, professional services when I am there. My schedule is very busy and they are open on Sundays! I even bring in my three children to get haircuts with him and Masayo. My children all have different types of hair and they all get great cuts that last. Ryugi and Masayo are patient, professional, respectful and great hair stylists. We highly recommend them. read more

I used to travel to NYC to get my hair cut, now I have no need. This is such a good salon, and very precise cut. Best blowdry/flat iron you can get. I love the time Ryuji spends on my hair. I enjoy the quiet calm space. I have stopped coloring my hair, but when I did, he did a great job, and was very precise with that as well. He and his partner are lovely people, and it is always a pleasure to go there. read more
