This is probably the best salon I have been to in Connecticut!!! They treat you like royalty and they do an excellent job. Since leaving the south (where they REALLY know how to do blond highlights, I have not been able to find anyone who could do it like the southern stylists. I have gone for years settling for good enough. I had almost forgotten what great highlights look like until I had Thomas do them today. He even had to do a corrective color, so that is even more difficult. It looks GREAT!!! I feel like I am back in Georgia where the blonds know how to blond!!! I have been using this salon for years and for the past several visits I need to say I have been especially impressed with Amelia because my hair has never grown out so beautifully -- even when I used to get it done in North Carolina where all they do is balayage and full blonde. This salon uses nut based products. Anyone who has nut allergies is at risk. Depending on how bad a persons nut allergy is this salon could end up killing someone. At this day and age and with the amount of severe nut allergies that people have why in the world would they use anything that is nut based. It's dangerous and is a liability. The place is really beautiful everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I was early and they sat me down right away. The vibe is so good and the energy is so light. Ariel is so lovely. In fairness, I would have given this salon a 5+ star rating after the first time I went there. I was in town for a wedding, and they did my color, cut, and even make-up. I walked out with the best hair I have had since my 20s. The color and highlights were fabulous, and the cut was amazing. This is why I went out of my way to drive from NYC (where there are plenty of good hair salons) to Maison D'Alexandre. Now, it had been some time since the wedding, and clearly I am not a regular. (The place seems packed with regulars). But I was excited, because since that "first time," I'd had competent cuts/colors, but never one to write home about.... This time at Maison D'Alexandre, my hair was over-processed (I don't remember the name of the woman who did my color), and Alexandre's hair-cut made me think he was musing about the look of 80s news anchors making a comeback. Now, I am not really all that fussy about hair... it grows... but when I went home to meet my college roommates for our yearly reunion (obviously, we'd had to skip 2020), one of them took me to buy hair products and a flattening iron to manage the frizz... and this was totally unprompted... only old friends can do that kind of thing.... (I have dead straight hair, but as I've aged, the graying has changed its texture... never before, though, have I looked like a comic book character version of an aging lady)... I almost never write negative reviews unless they are really deserved. BUT, when I said to my husband last night, "This is the first time in my adult life that I have felt unattractive," I decided that this bugged me enough to put fingers to keypad. Probably this wouldn't have happened if I were a "regular," and maybe they would have fixed it if I had gone back. So, possibly this is slightly unfair.... BUT, as anyone who knows Greenwich, this was not an inexpensive experience, and Alexandre should not have let me leave his salon looking like that... And it hasn't improved over the ensuing weeks. I like to clearly communicate with a Stylist, who has never worked on my hair prior. I indicated I wanted a full (layered) cut. Instead, he gave me a blunt, flat look. I had gotten EYEBROW services. While the aesthetician was nice, the color simply did not take which I noticed when I got home. ($60+ for that service). Not sure that I'll return. read more

I went to Alexandre for a new style/cut and not only adored what he did to my hair but his salon is magnificent! So well thought out for the ultimate in comfort for his clients, from massaging chairs while you get shampoo to a full length mirror that he starts with you at, discussing what you want & explaining why your shape face would look great with a certain cut, & the most luxurious blankets I've ever felt. Haircut and updo with David - I left clearly unhappy after my updo experience, and from a salon that pays (it seems) only lip service to client satisfaction. The salon is visually stunning and reception and assistant personnel I dealt with were absolutely lovely. However, my 2 experiences with David - a haircut and then a couple of weeks later an updo - were absolutely appalling. David cut my hair and because I was running late, I chose to leave without a blow dry (my hair wet in a bun). Over the next week or so, my hair pretty much stayed up as I have not had a chance to style it. Despite feeling like David didn't really listen to what I wanted and cut my hair based on his own ideas, I decided to go back to get a simple updo done because I had an event in the city and the salon is open on Mondays. After showing David a photo and answering a couple of his rather brusque questions, David went to work - and I ended up with a pretty tight and formal looking "chignon" instead of a loose "low bun" I asked for. After saying that I wasn't happy with the result - the response I got was a literal brush off "what exactly don't you like (I.e., what is your problem!) before I start pulling pins out"! I left, loosened my hair at home myself (in 5 minutes) for it to somewhat resemble what I asked for, and then took a photo and sent it to the salon with a note that I fixed it. No response. I don't mean to be a "jerk" - I love all things beautiful and this salon is stunning, but this experience has no place in any salon, much less in a salon like this. I sincerely hope this is constructive. P.S. my haircut also turned out pretty horrendous (now that I have had time to wear my hair down), uneven choppy layers on my fine, wavy hair - not a good look. read more

This salon is the best there is. I absolutely love coming here for a day of pampering. You will leave there looking like a new person. Rabih cuts my hair and Ariel does my color. It is the best cut and color I've ever had from any salon. The salon itself is designed so beautifully, I love looking at all of the details. There is a lot of TLC that went into this salon. I've been coming here for a while now with my mom and we don't go anywhere else. Rabih is cutting my hair and always styles it beautifully, and Ariel colors my hair. I've never been happier with the way it looks. The place is gorgeous and offers beverages while you sit. Also, while you get your hair washed, the chairs are massage chairs. Great street parking, always spots open, and extremely friendly staff. You won't regret it. read more
