She understands how to cut and style Asian hair. The only thing that could use improvement on is hair dying (I asked for balayage) since it came out a bit messy and splotchy. She did offer to fix it for free since the first time it was a bit orange. I really appreciate that she cared about me as a client and person. Haircut and style is definitely the best here! It's probably the best place for Asian hair in CT. Prices are decent and about the same as NYC when I compared. If you have lots and lots of THICK Asian hair she is able to thin it out and style it. I resisted, I didn't want one but he started showing my how bad my split ends looked and brought out some special magnifying machines to show me how bad my ends are. (ANYTHING would look bad under the microscope.) Paolo spent under 10 minutes, talking way too much nonstop the whole time about how my hair needed his "special" cut and how damaged my hair was and how the hair would improve. TEN minutes, he had a lady there with a blow dryer blowing the strands one way and he'd cut the "baby" hairs underneath because it supposedly made my hair healthy. Ten minutes THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS! My hair looked crappy. Almost a year later, my hair still looks crappy, its' thin on bottom and feathery and unruly, it was never this way. I have thick hair with a lot of volume, and no one, I mean no one could give it a cut I was happy with and I have found that many salons just don't know how to blowdry thick hair. Genesis gave me a hair treatment, and as soon a Lucas saw my hair, he knew exactly what I needed and wanted. He gave me a perfect cut (it actually made my hair look longer), beautiful highlights, and the blowdry was amazing. I will definitely be going back, Lucas is not only great with hair, he has a great personality and his assistant Genesis is very helpful. They also made sure I would not get a parking ticket, and they sent someone out to add time to the meter.
