She recommend a signature calming facial. I booked it two days later and had a great experience! She was very gentle, calming and understanding of the issues I was facing with my skin. The facial included a light scalp and arm massage, was nice as well. I bought a few of the recommended skin care products and my skin has never looked better! I actually get excited to use the skin care and have already seen results. I'll definitely be back to visit her for my facial/waxing needs and trust her recommendations! The good things -- very pretty surroundings, quite calm and clean. Professional and pleasant staff. My facial was very good, it was a wonderful, relaxing experience and my skin looks great. But when it comes to the massage....unable to say the same. I was reluctant to share this review, however, I called & asked to leave private feedback. No one ever called me back. Because I am a big believer in the healing power of massage and been fortunate enough to have had excellent massages here in the U.S. as well as overseas, it troubles me when a promised treatment is not delivered. Someone might decide that massage isn't for them and it's just because the massage was not from a skilled practitioner. I chose a 2 hour massage that should have included, to quote their web site, "deep techniques", "muscle energy techniques" and "muscle stripping", all of which I am quite familiar with and have benefited from in the past at the hands of skilled practitioners. What I received was basically 2 hours of what is sometimes called "a fluff and buff" massage. It was repetitions of different effleurage techniques, over and over. I average a massage a month, sometimes more and if I hadn't just had a superior massage at another facility only a week ago, I would doubt my assessment. I can't recommend this salon enough; greentoes is Tucson's best! Every square foot of the place is gorgeous and exudes total chicness, from the decor to the relaxing scents wafting through each room (that's another thing: there is a separate room for manis, pedis, and massages, which feels so private!) to the upbeat but relaxing music they play. Staff is lovely and professional, the products they use are top of the line AND vegan, and the prices are reasonable as well! I went in for a shellac polish change, which I had set an appointment for earlier that morning by phone. My technician, Fernanda, was welcoming, personable, and very thorough! When I mentioned offhand that I liked opaque polish after I picked a very light cream shade, she layered a neutral color as a base so that it really would turn out opaque. I came in for a polish change on my toes which I was quoted $12 for, I sat down and was getting my previous polish taken off when I asked the stylist if she would trim my nails down and she said no because I didn't requested for a full pedicure. I then proceeded to ask how much for them to cut my nails down and she said $40. I said never mind just paint my toes...she started to paint my toes and didn't even put a base coat before painting the color on. I have NEVER been to a nail salon where they don't trim the nails down with a polish change...I will NEVER be coming back here for any services because I feel they are trying to take people money. read more

I don't understand the hype. You get very little for what you pay for, much less than at other nail places for a pedicure. You don't even get a massage, even tho on the website it says you do. They don't remove your callouses. The seating is extremely uncomfortable. If you're over 5'3" definitely beware because your knees will be bent uncomfortably. I LOVE coming here! I was in yesterday for a mani/pedi - I got the essential, which includes arm and foot massage. It's been a long time since I've done this. It was so relaxing - just what I needed! I felt so pampered from the moment I walked in. I offered tea or water, and I love that you pick your scent for your exfoliate. My nails look great, and I'm ready for spring now! There are nice big comfy chairs to sit while you get your treatment, and they are careful and detailed in their work. I love the little house/building they are in in the university area. Very cute! Update: after posting my first review, I immediately received a call from Danielle, the manager. She was very sweet and apologetic and offered for me to come in at my convenience to have my nails repainted. I came right back and she meticulously removed the flawed old paint and very carefully repainted my nails, even using the light to help dry between each coat, and then applied drying drops. I then waited about 10 mins to allow things to dry further. Danielle even gave me a complimentary mini bottle of the color I selected to take with me in case of chips. In spite of all of that, the laquer took hours to fully cure. I went straight home and tried not to do anything with my hands for as long as I could, but three nails ended up getting badly smudged and then when I tried to take a shower a few hours later, the finish was destroyed again :( At this point, I assume that these products just don't work with my body chemistry or something, because Greentoes did literally everything they could to fix the issue. I like them and appreciate their commitment to great service, which makes it even sadder that I guess this salon isn't the right place for me :/ But thanks, Danielle, for all your efforts! read more

Yes, It's Greentoes, I know... but here it the scoop . I was in Tucson for the El Tour de Tucson and due to the extremely bad rains I choose not to race my bike (111 miles) but do a spa day instead. I know bike racers huh, spa day..hmmmm Well, I found them from local Yelp and it was everything and more. From the great hello at the door to the smells of all sorts of botanicals. To the high seats with a waaaayyy cool basin for my "mis-understood" feet and did I mention wifi? Oh yes, for my first experience getting a pedicure, this is the place for me. This is my go-to pedicure place! I really like the atmosphere: clean, minimalist, trendy, relaxing without feeling pretentious. I think some day spas try too hard to make customers RELAX!! Greentoes does not do that--they let the minimal decor full of clean lines and simple shapes speak for itself. I have had pedicures with at least four different staff members and they were all stellar. The nail care line they use here--SpaRitual--is free of toxic solvents and super long-lasting (chip free for 3 weeks!). It always smells wonderful here because there's no acetone used; it's the only nail salon I've ever left headache-free. This is a fantastic local business that deserves our support. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I come here because the nail technician does a great job on my pedicures and because I like the SpaRituals polish. However, because you have to make an appointment several weeks in advance, I don't end-up coming here too often. This time I planned ahead and got an appointment. I arrived for my appointment and because I am in the middle of moving, I did not have any flip flops with me (they've all been packed for the move). Apparently they don't stock any foam/disposable flip flops because they are not eco friendly! Totally unacceptable, especially with the high prices of the services here. I understand wanting to be as eco friendly as possible, but they really should have a few pairs on hand in extreme cases like this (or even if you happen to forget your flip flops!). I had to walk out barefoot, maneuver around broken glass in the street, and my feet were of course filthy by the time I got home. Kinda ruins the "spa" experience. I've also noticed that since Covid, some of the little touches that they had before (like water or tea) seem to have disappeared (or at least haven't been offered to me) :-(. read more

Great location. Beautiful space and an excellent pedicure! I desperately needed a pedicure, so I called the closest salon, Greentoes, and crossed my fingers that they had availability immediately. They did! I was 5 minutes away, and they could take me right when I arrived. I had the Essential Pedicure, which is $45 for a 45 minute pedicure. When I checked in, my nail technician asked me to pick a color, and they have a great variety to choose from. Then she asked me to pick the salt scrub I wanted. She displayed the scrubs on individual dishes, and the scrubs were scooped out like little ice cream scoops. It was adorable. She already had the water bath ready for me, and I dipped my feet in and got comfortable on their couch. My nail technician did a great job, and was very friendly. I love the way that the owners have taken a beautiful home in historic downtown Tucson and transformed it into a peaceful oasis for manis and pedis. The products they use are also amazing - No chemicals, free of toxins, nothing that will set off my migraines. It is such a treat to know that I'm feeding my spirit AND it won't make me sick. This place was FABULOUS! One of the best mani-pedi's I've ever had! Jeanette and Erin were friendly and professional--they gave great color recommendations for my friend and I. Greentoes is owned by a local teacher, and their product are all non-toxic. The inside is clean, bright, and relaxing. The "express" mani-pedi took almost an hour and a half, which meant they worked very carefully and didn't rush anything (just make sure to budget enough time to enjoy!). HIGHLY recommended. I went here for a mani/pedi a few weeks ago, and I wish I would have found this place when they first opened! The studio was so calm and cozy. I've been to other salons where people are taken care of in a rushed, fast-paced atmosphere with TVs and chemical smells all over. This was totally different! Everyone was friendly and spoke quietly and the music was upbeat yet relaxing. There was a good assortment of polishes that were arranged nicely, and they had gel polishes too. I read a review somewhere that they don't do cuticle trimming, but they do cuticle care and nip off any dead skin so I felt like I was taken care of and nothing seemed missing to me. Let me begin by saying this review is way past overdue! I have visited Greentoes multiple times and for many reason, but I must say, this spa and its staff are beyond amazing! They always go out of their way to make you feel wonderful and welcomed. I usually get my nails done with Jeanette who is bar far amazing, but I have also had by nails done by Jessica who is such a joy to be around with!!! Jeanette and I always have a good time playing with my nails, and I always enjoy seeing what neat design she will come up with next. Although shellac is slightly more expensive, it's my go to product guaranteed to last me at least 2 weeks or more no matter what I'm using my hands for. (I don't have many pictures of my nail designs but I'll be sure to take some from now on and post them here or instagram). Nail services aren't the only thing I've had done at Greentoes. I previously had a facial with Reyna who is a sweet heart with killer curly hair!! A few months ago I went in for everything, the massage, nails, facial etc. Massage and facial were great, great technicians and they were awesome at their jobs. When it was time for the mani/pedi things went downhill. The nail technician is AWFUL at time management. She spent 20 extra minutes on the mani struggling with a french tip and deducted that from the pedi. Pedi consisted of my feet soaking until the water got cold while she gave another pedicure to someone else. Quick swipe of oil, dollop of polish and done.
