A decent place for work day lunch. They charge $8.99/lb for the hot bar and salads, and I wish it's a little cheaper because it adds up real fast. There are lots of options and most of them are my taste (Asian food!) The line for made to order sandwiches and grill always seem busy but moves fast. Ahhh...the sweet smell of bacon and coffee in the morning. If you're a Booz Allen employee (or near the buildings since you won't need a badge to patronize the deli), you're treated to the smells wafting from the deli. Walk into the main doors and take a left at the atrium (signs will lead you to the Allen building) and you'll quickly see the deli on the left. If you try to go to far, you'll be stopped short by a security guard if you're sans employee badge. Breakfast: The food is generally good. The breakfast burrito will hold you until mid-afternoon - easily. There's nothing like hashbrown potatoes, breakfast meat, cheese, and eggs wrapped in a flour tortilla to keep you alert in that morning meeting! Think breakfast Chipotle. Otherwise, breakfast is a standard short-order menu. Lunch: This is where the variety comes out. You can order various sandwiches, wraps, and grilled sandwiches, it's not even funny. Not a sandwich bubba/bubbette? Then go to the a la carte bar next to the grill. Besides a salad bar that will have three types of salad there, you can get anything to your hearts content. Quesadillas, Chinese food (usually lo mein, fried rice, glazed chicken, and broccoli beef) isn't bad and if you go across, you actually can find....*drum roll*....KOREAN FOOD. Go figure, a Korean owned deli having a little Korean food. There are some banchan dishes - you'll have the braised spinach, bean sprouts, kimchi, kim bap, and California rolls (ok, not so Korean but it might as well be with as many Korean owned sushi bars in town). Beware though - call the kim bap sushi and I'm liable to squirt you with the soy sauce bottle. The key thing is to be careful though - prices on the hot line will hit your wallet quickly if you're not careful. It's the old adage - don't shop when you're hungry (but of course, if you weren't hungry, you wouldn't be there to begin with, right? MONOPOLY!!!). There is also a small set of groceries you can get - chips, pita chips, dried fruit, protein bars, gum, etc. - even greeting cards. You will pay a slight mark up though - a bottle of diet coke will cost you about $1.50 with tax rather than $1.25 in the vending machine. Ahh the American premium for convenience. Of course, I get to eat here anytime I'm in McLean, but I also like to venture out the mixing bowl across the street...the almighty Subway. read more

I occasionally work out the building where this is located and I have to say this place is really solid! They have lots of vegetarian options between the salad / hot food bar and made-to-order station. Most of the stuff seems fairly healthy and the ordering & check-out process is highly streamlined, which makes it really easy to order, even during lunch time. Between the few times I've been there, I think my favourite item has to be the Falafel Taco Bowl - hadn't had anything like that before, and it was amazing! read more

I've hit that point with my job where I ask myself 2 things on a daily basis: what's for lunch and is it 5pm yet? I find myself scratching my head at answering the former, mainly because Tysons seems to be lacking in lunch options (and good ones for that matter). I generally put myself in this position every day because I never make time to pack a lunch (totally my fault) but does this mean I'm condemned to eat a crappy delis for the rest of my life?! Apparently it does. A few of my coworkers and I walked over to the Greensboro Cafe to check it out one afternoon and to honest, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I had a Reuben sandwich with chips. The corned beef was hard to sink my teeth into and to make matters worse, the bread was way too buttery and oily. It was one of those situations where you bite into a sandwich, the contents of the sandwich fall out the other side and you end up eating your sandwich with a fork. It was a little disappointing. One plus about the Greensboro Cafe is that they do have the candy-chips-drink selection thing down pat. A better selection than a small gas station mini mart but not better than a 7-11. read more

Not a bad place for a Café / deli. The meat that is grilled is usually charred a bit. The variety of vegetables, salads, buffet, and a cook to order grill is nice. Always clean in appearance, and well staffed. The buffet food is not always steaming hot, as it seems to be prepared early in the day, and the heaters are not on high. The breakfast is good, but their organization is low. I was in line before a group of construction workers, and received my food after them. I asked if they had home fries in there, and they said yes. I checked and there were no home fries. They threw some on the grill and then served it to me cold. This was the most lousy experience. Still a good place to get food nearby, breakfast anyways. The lunch competition is heated with the other Café in the next building, and the dozen food trucks out front. read more

For a buffet and grill style lunch they do a fantastic job. I don't know who they have cooking, but everything there is delicious. The sandwiches they make are always so really good too! They make good made to order sandwiches based on their menu. They have some Vietnamese/French sandwiches which can be unique and are delicious. My go to are the chicken club wrap and the chipotle tuna melt. Honestly, all their hot Specialties are good. They have a rotating cold and hot buffet which has some good picks. This is definitely one of the best places for lunch in this area. To start off, talk about variety! Their hot bar seems to change food daily which keeps a regular like myself coming back for more! On days i feel like being healthy theres a great fresh salad bar and a wide selection of sandwiches/burritos/wraps. Also, Ive come here for breakfast as well which definitely beats out mcdonalds breakfast. Everythings made to order and they have the best coffee and lattes! They have an espresso machine! Massive selection of sandwiches at their sandwich counter and even more selection at their hot food buffet and cold food buffet counters. Staff are very friendly and place brand new looking. Different variety of food at their buffet counters daily and food is always hot! Definitely worth going for breakfast and lunch. read more

I have walked by this place a couple times and I got curious. People have said good things about it so I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. It has become my favorite place to eat lunch. The salads are crisp and delicious. They are designed beautifully and each bite is always fresh. I have tried sandwiches here too and I really enjoyed them as well.
