I have always been very DIY when it came to hair removal. I'm a baby about pain, and it seemed like every time I decided to use a professional they would undermine my sensitivity because waxing doesn't hurt THEM. This all changed when I went to Amanda at Greenleaf. It was my first time getting my legs waxed and, with such sensitive skin, I figured I would need to wear pants afterward due to redness. Guess what? I left with beautiful legs because Amanda remedied any blotchiness that had occurred. Additionally, my hair didn't start coming back in for weeks, which is something that has never been the case before. Amanda is BY FAR the most knowledgeable esthetician I have ever encountered. She creates the products she uses, and genuinely cares about what is in the best interest of the client. I felt comfortable and relaxed in the studio, it smelled lovely, and it was an intimate experience- no loud music, not a million people talking at once. It was very serene. Considering a Brazilian wax has got to be one of the most painful things I put myself through , I keep going back. Amanda is so sweet and makes you feel super comfortable. Best best best nlbest place to go ever! So... Wanted to get my lady parts waxed & never had before. I'd gone to pink cheeks & friendly as they were, they'd told me to come back in 1-2 months because the hair was too short to be waxed... Well... I can't wait that long. It was a jungle and that's just gross (for me... If the 70s bush is your thing, more power to ya). I found Amanda ... Online I think. She was close, so I called her, asked some questions and booked a consultation. Her place is so clean & very nice, cozy, convenient, comfortable... Perfect 10. She let me know she could take care of me, there was no need to wait for longer growth. Hell yeah! The whole experience was fabulous, she makes you feel very comfortable, I hardly remembered how up close and personal with my cookie she was, and she keeps the conversation going and she's funny and really cool. Let me start off by saying that prior to coming here I had a horrible waxing experience elsewhere that left me thinking I'd never do it again. For those of you in the same boat as I was in, read carefully: this place is wonderful! From start to end the experience was great. While the outside appearance isn't wonderful, the inside makes up for it and more! I was feeling awkward and uncomfortable about trying waxing again after my prior horrible experience elsewhere, but I was completely taken care of. What I absolutely loved was that Amanda (I think that was her name) was so happy and comfortable that it soothed my nerves. She's a professional and probably the best around. Can I give more than 5 stars for this studio?? For one, I'm extremely, no, EXTREMELY, shy about seeing new estheticians. I happened to cross paths with the studio's owner, Amanda, by mere happenstance as I was searching for a location that uses organic products in an area that I don't know much about. I don't get to LA often but as I'm pale, gawky, and pretty umm, unkempt for these colder months, I am so elated that this is where I had found myself. Amanda is the most non-pretentious in this environment (maybe in the area?) and made sure that I was more than humanly comfortable. I felt bad as I was rushed and she assured me that I would be good and ready to go in no time at all. The ironic thing? She was right. Amanda is extremely knowledgeable of skin type (I warned her that I'm sensitive) and she assured me that I would be ok. I'm probably the fussiest of people when it comes down to the nitty-gritty (no pun intended, ha) but she was quick, efficient, and really personable during my time there. And believe you me, if you're i a waxing studio then you KNOW that you need someone to be all of those to make you feel better about being furrier than a yeti! I can't recommend this studio enough! I joked that I would make a trip out west just to come here but I think I really am! This is beyond top-notch and I left feeling great about myself and about what was going onto my body.
