On the way to Tahoe, my grandmother and I stopped here to grab a bite before heading out and boy did we make the right choice! The servers were so kind and welcoming, the food was fresh and delicious. Like most places by the side of the highway in a smaller town, the decor was country themed and quite charming. Everything was clean and the food was great! read more

In search of a good breakfast place on the way back from or to the Lake Tahoe area? This place fits the bill perfectly! We were heading back from Tahoe after the Holiday break and I found this on Yelp. There are a few other places that I have been to in Placerville, and I knew they wouldn't work for my crew. The location here has plenty of parking and has a quaint feel. They also were very friendly and helpful. As the French Toast was so highly rated, 5 of the 6 people in the group decided on that in one combination or another. It did not disappoint. The lone dissenter got a breakfast burrito, which he devoured. A little bit off the beaten path, but highly recommended. Great breakfast. read more

My husband and I are OBSESSED with the local breakfast spot! The Eggs Benedict is to die for! The coffee is the best brewed in town, and Arnold palmers are made with perfect half amount tea/lemonade. We are weekend regulars- staff is always consistent so they just be happy! Two guy waiters are awesome, and they have a team of women cooks (mama's cooking) ! Great job Greenhouse. read more

Dillon provided great service!!! Food was really good and prices very reasonable. Definitely recommend!!

Wow, Yelp really failed me this time. Had to do a little grocery shopping at the nearby Raley's so dropped in for a late breakfast-early lunch. First of all, the coffee. How anyone could commend their coffee is a stretch. Coffee was weak and thin, absolutely no body or taste. Probably one of the worst cups I have experienced at a restaurant in my past. I ordered the french toast. It really wasn't too bad, not memorable like several reviewers claimed. In fact, it was a little tough and required a knife to cut it. My wife had eggs, hash browns and a biscuit. Again, nothing that would draw any rave reviews. The waitstaff seemed friendly and willing to please, but the food just didn't hold up to close to 4 stars. I really am puzzled about the good reviews. Definitely will not return. read more

Greenhouse Cafe - Traditional bacon and eggs - Cafes Near Me - Placerville, California

Great for breakfast or lunch. What I love about their omelettes is that they are very thin - if you are pro-fluffy omelette, maybe not your place. To me, they are divine. The veggie one has a great combo of healthy veggies and some additional add-ons (like jalapenos) available. If you are keto-inclined, you can opt for a side of tomatoes in place of potatoes. Both my daughter and my guy love it here as well. Oh, and finally, consistently great service. read more

Great place, by far one of best restaurant in the placerville I've been. Such friendly service, great food, ambiance is very chill not loud perfect for that morning breakfast or lunch. Patty melts read more

Hit this spot up when a group of friends and myself were heading back home from a South Lake trip. Showed up absolutely ready to destroy some good breakfast. From the moment u walk in the locals ma and pa small town vibe hits u. From the decor to the customers getting served u can tell they've been around for quite some time. Service was spectacular and the chicken fried steak and eggs hit the spot after a weekend of partying. This place hits the spot for a casual breakfast with good food good vibes and a great way to end or start a weekend with the homies read more

This place is in a good location close to Raleys and off the freeway. The service was initially really quick and helpful but it took quite some time for us to get our check and to get out the door. The food was decent and with decent portion sizes- we had a Denver omelette and a breakfast burrito (sausage and bacon), coffee, and a large oj. The reason I'm leaving a 3 star review is because our bill was $60... they charged for quite literally everything and it's definitely not cheap. So while we were happy to patronize a locally owned restaurant, the price is going to make it challenging to return. read more

Really good food, variety, and friendly staff. Love the fish and chips, and the ranch salad dressing is the best!

Why have we waited so long to try this? Everything was delicious and the freshly ground coffee was fabulous. The French toast was to due for. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. We will be back for sure! read more

So glad we chose this place for brunch! The French Toast is a must! The triple decker club has the most crisp delicious bacon. My husband is very picky about his breakfast and he LOVED everything. The service was very quick and Dillan, our server, was super friendly and very helpful as we have two kids who can be picky. Two thumbs way up from the whole family! read more

Very pleasant little cafe . Nice service and good basic food. No complaints. Will return when over in that part of town.

Delicious, delicious and delicious! Not to mention wonderful service. Dh works up by Placerville and had been on duty for almost a month, so we decided to come visit him for breakfast and where did I look for good reviews? Yelp, of course! So, we chose Greenhouse Cafe because of their positive Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! The food was yummy! There were four of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. My only one disappointment was they do not offer ANY discounts - no Veteran's Discount, no Fireman Discount, no Senior Discount, so hence my 4-star. Yes, it's their business and they can to choose to not offer any, but in this day and age who doesn't offer at least one of these three? Keep up the great work! We'll be back. read more

Always greeted with a smile here. Fresh family recipes are amazing. Love the French toast...

I've never been here till today and honestly it's super good I hope I can come back and have this food again soon

This is our favorite spot! The French toast is the very best, it is huge though so get a half order and the food is consistently good. We got a veggie omelette, never skimpy on the avo, Denver omelette and French toast. Everyone there is so kind and wonderful. If you want really good breakfast this is the gem of Placerville! read more

This was my 1st time here I came with my husband and 1 of our friends , the staff was very nice and helpful and the restaurant is very small and cute An nice and it was very clean as well and every time as soon as someone was done using the table it was picked up very fast and cleaned fast and ready for the next set of people from everything I seen when I was there. All the food we got came out hot and fresh and tasted great and you get big size plates for what you pay for so it's well worth it. The staff also kept checking on us and seeing how we were doing even though they were very busy, it's worth the wait for the food and a table if you come here to eat. This place is great for breakfast and lunch as well. I highly recommend this place for everyone if you haven't checked it out. My husband and I will definitely be coming back and will be telling everyone we know to come check it out as well. My husband and I love coming to places like this where it's a little mom and pop dinner and this place is also very laid back as well. Also if you have to use the bathrooms they have keys they give you an the bathrooms are a round the corner from the restaurant. read more

Greenhouse Cafe - What I got to eat - Cafes Near Me - Placerville, California

Hard to believe this place was the same as in those excellent reviews! The whites not cooked, the home fries not fried, the coffee too thin and the toast not served until halfway through the meal. Maybe the cook had a bad day, as the place was not busy. We drove out of our way because of the good reviews, but left disappointed. read more

I have had both breakfast and lunch here. It is a diner style cafe in the shopping center by Raleys. It was a bit hard to find for me, as it is on the side of the building opposite from the sign they had out front. Options are about what you would expect in a place like this - some omlets, eggs and bacon, French toast, oatmeal, etc. For breakfast, we both got a French toast combo - it was really good, and just under $10. Not a huge portion but large enough that we were both satisfied when we were done. For lunch, I was less impressed. I got a BLT, which was perfectly fine but nothing out of the ordinary, and fries, which were basic frozen fries. Not a bad meal, but nothing special either. It was $11+ which I felt was maybe a little high for what you got. Service was excellent both times - prompt and friendly. The cafe is clean, makes decent coffee, etc. It's a basic, American type restaurant. I will probably come back on occasion. read more

What a delicious meal! French toast was one of the best I've had. Typical diner menu but definitely cooked with a little extra love! KYLAND was the best part of the experience. He was super attentive, kind and making sure everyone was happy! Thanks Kyland! What a great waiter! read more

Best french toast in town. I remember once, somebody challenged me on this and we set out to try Zachary Jacks french toast when they were still around. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Anyways, besides french toast, they are just a great small town cafe who do things the right way. Simple and delicious. There are the more trendy tourists trap cafes... don't fall for the facade of it all. This place is the real deal. Try homefries with side of homemade salsa. Or if your in the mood for lunch.... try the turkey with some of the salsa. If the food wasn't enough, in all the years of living in this town and going to eateries... Greenhouse is the one place I've never had bad service. They are always smiling and ready to rock. read more

I'm surprised no one had reviewed this, it seems like a place that is a hit with the locals. I met my aunt and a friend here for lunch one day. It's in the Raley's shopping center. It's your regular ole cafe. The have salads, melts, burgers, and a few other items here and there. They have some outdoor seating too. I order the turkey melt which was quite good. My aunt got the salad and it looked awesome, so I would probably get that next time. Some of order was lost in translation, but they realized later on and apologized so it was no big deal at all. Nothing really costs over $10 a plate, so it's reasonably priced. I would definitely go back, although I'm never in Placerville that often. read more

Very friendly here. On our way to Tahoe and wanted a place to eat with some local flavor. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was good American type food. My wife had a turkey sandwich on toasted sour dough, macaroni salad and some cranberry sauce. I have Eggs Benedict on ham & English Muffin along w/home fries and some of their own salsa. Very good. We recommend that you give the Cafe a try. read more

This is a nice American cafe with some seriously good food. My husband and 2 kids crawled here after camping at the KOA all weekend. They had us seated promptly and were helpful in getting my kids set up with cups with lids so they wouldn't spill their milk. We were shopping and banking in the area and decided to give it a try. My husband (who is very particular about omelettes) ordered a bacon, spinach and Swiss omelette with hash browns. We both figure if a restaurant can't get hash browns right, it isn't worth a trip. These were just about perfect: crispy and golden on the outside, soft inside. The omelette was DELICIOUS! Plenty of filling, and the omelet itself was cooked as it should be, not dry or runny.. I ordered the turkey sandwich on toasted sourdough, with onion rings. The turkey was flavorful, there was plenty of it. The onion rings were CRISPY! Yay! My only criticism was that I expected my sourdough to be grilled and warm, not previously toasted and cold. The wait staff is welcoming and friendly. She brought a side of Ranch for my onion rings, no charge. Breakfast is served til closing :) read more

I went to the Greenhouse Cafe for the first time today and I most certainly will be back. My Mother ordered the Gobbler and I had their BLTA special. The food was truly excellent. All the ingredients were fresh and clearly they cook from scratch. The Gobbler comes with turkey they cook in house. Our waitress and the rest of their staff were very courteous. Our food came in a timely manner, and the prices were very reasonable. I wish I had known about this gem before...it was that good. read more

Great service. Great food. We stopped here on the way home from Tahoe. They were able to accommodate a party of 7. I had the breakfast burrito and they were able to make it just the way I like it with mushrooms instead of meat. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. read more
