OMG this place is quite cute and little. It gives that hometown feel with great food. The whole staff is friendly and on top of their tables!!!! First I always order iced tea and sit forever waiting for a refill. Our server brought a carafe with extra when he first brought out the drink. Found this place by searching the internet for breakfast in Placerville! Menu is small but full of flavor. I really don't like the restaurants that have a book for a menu. I have included pictures of the menu. I ordered a build your own omelette and hubby had a country breakfast. Can I just say my compliments to the chef. I NEVER finish my food and I cleared my plate! Seriously, if you are in the area, I encourage you to stop by and have a bite to eat!

Quaint little place that reminds me of a spot I used to go to in the bay area. Staff is very friendly, decor gives off that unique small country breakfast spot vibes. Good coffee, none of that it's been sitting for an hour burning tinge. Country breakfast was very good, I did pepper the living heck out of it, but that's normal for me. Added a side of sausage to mix into the gravy and it added just the right amount of flavor to knock it up that extra notch. The menu is smallish, which is great, some places have menus so large you wonder if the chef knows what is actually going on with everything. Wife had the build your own omelet with crisp hash brown. Haven't seen her eat an entire omelet in years. She cleaned her plate this time. Only thing she left behind was left over ketchup that wasn't used on her hash browns! She was impressed! Really enjoyed this little place that's tucked away in a small shopping center. Again, staff was great, chef did a great job as well. If you're looking for a small business to visit for some eats, this place is a great option!

This place is great! Little clean diner atmosphere with the hometown feel. The service is wonderful, had everything we needed at all times. Food came quick, fresh, hot, and delicious! Love the options of mini breakfast and mini lunch options. Can't wait to come back!

Greenhouse Cafe embodies all the best things that a local neighborhood cafe offers... tasty food served by the nicest staff. The signature menu items that I absolutely find to be the best around is the turkey club sandwich and eggs benedict. For the sandwich they use real fresh roasted turkey. Ohh that makes a huge taste difference. The bacon is cooked to a perfect crispness, no rare edges and not burnt either. The egg benedict's hollandaise sauce is fantastic. Smooth with a just right consistency and emulsification. Flavorful, buttery with oh so slight lemon taste. The eggs are poached to treat you to a show of egg ooziness when pierced. On days they are short staffed, they tape a sign on the front door indicating that and apologizing for the possible longer service times. In any given day, you'll probably see Claudia, the owner, working. She has a great friendly demeanor. Another thing to note is the bathroom situation. It's located around the corner of the cafe. To access it, you'll need to ask for the key. It's kept clean.

Cute little place in Placerville near Raley's. It's in an older strip mall and has a classic old style diner look. Homey and welcoming. The menu is simple but the breakfast was solid. I had eggs and bacon. I like my bacon a little floppy and it was perfect, as were my poached eggs. My sourdough toast was great - usually I wind up throwing away half my toast but I ate all of it. The bread tasted really fresh. My husband had the breakfast burrito - a generous portion with plenty of avocado on top, which I happily took off his hands. He liked it but thought the inside was dry - could use a little sauce. All in all a nice, welcoming place for breakfast and great service and atmosphere.

Husband and I are visiting from out of town and decided on this place after perusing their menu…read moreonline. We arrived and while the place was busy, we were seated right away at a table of our choosing. We both went back and forth about what to order, so many things sounded good. My husband opted for their classic egg Benny and I did a two egg (over easy) breakfast with a burger patty, country potatoes, and sourdough toast. Eggs with a burger patty is a breakfast I eat very often and I love it- kind of like a poor man's version of steak and eggs. Food arrived in an acceptable amount of time. Hubby's eggs Benedict looked great. As soon as they set my plate down, I knew I'd made a mistake. That burger patty was clearly a pre-made frozen one and just looked so sad. I barely managed a few bites of it. Absolutely no flavor or seasoning, still tasted awful after I heavily salted and peppered it myself. The meat was like pure mush. Worst excuse for a burger patty I've ever had. It honestly kind of turned my appetite a bit. Thankfully my eggs were cooked very well and the toast was good. Potatoes were decent, though a bit on the cold side when they arrived. My husband seemed to enjoy his meal but said the hollandaise was a tad watery. Giving this place 3 stars because the service was really nice. I have a feeling a lot of the other things on their menu would be great. But lord, that burger was absolutely pitiful.

Reviewed the menu and after asking the waitress if the…read morechicken fried steak was homemade I opted for it because if it wasn't I would have passed and got something else that would have been freshly made. The only thing freshly made on the dish were the "two" eggs which - more like one. The gravy and the chicken fried steak were not homemade, it was a frozen patty. You could also see that it was cooked on the flattop. Horrible, process taste. If I hadn't asked I would not be judging so harshly but I did ask. Also the service was cold - not warm at all. My wife got steak and eggs and the steak was supposed to be filet according to the menu - not even close. If it was it was filet scraps and it wasn't even seasoned and was also cooked on a flattop, more like jerky. Lastly, to pay $50 for this type of experience, sadly, not worth it. The high yelp score is misleading.

Yay! Our new favorite lunch place on Main Street!…read more We just stopped by last weekend, we've been wanting to try this place out but it just hadn't happened.... Last Monday we decided to have lunch there, one of our regular places is closed Mondays and this place was open so we checked it out...and we're SO SO glad we did! Atmosphere was nice and server was very friendly from the moment we walked in. First thing I noticed; $5 mimosas!! I asked if they did anything other than orange juice and yes, they had several other options so I had the cranberry version. Delicious! I went with their mac and cheese, my partner got the basic hamburger. Mac and Cheese -- definitely very bacon forward, much more than I prefer. That being said, I still liked it, it also had sour cream and green onion on top. Bacon lovers will LOOOVE this version, there is LOTS of it and every bite you can taste it. Normally I prefer my mac & cheese with no bacon or just a bit here and there, I prefer to taste more of the cheeses.....again, it still tasted good, its a good serving and I ate half and had enough to save for the next day at work. Creamy and well made, again I just prefer to taste more cheese than bacon. I wouldn't order this again but like I said, a bacon lover will LOVE this version. Now, my partner's burger was Incredible. We are PICKY with our burgers, and we both thought this one was fantastic. Big, and great ratio to the bun. He ordered it medium and asked for "a little char" and they made it perfectly. I took a bite and yeah, I'd order that for sure. The fries were great, too. Overall we were super happy with our lunch, I thought it was priced fairly as well. We will definitely be back!!

I'll give 2* because the food (when it came) was great…read more We've been to Franny's a couple times before and had O.K. service and good food. The pitfalls of the restaurant seem to be entirely the service. Most recently we went to Franny's on Mother's Day. We had reservations and walked in, on time. We were initially sat in a nice booth in the front of the restaurant. It was my wife and I plus our 2 kids, the table size seemed appropriate. After being sat, we sat without talking to a server for 10+ minutes, not even getting waters. Eventually, when someone did come, it was a waitress/hostess telling us that there had been a mix up, and we needed to move. We weren't excited on the idea, as we were happy where we were, but we moved to the back of the restaurant. This time we sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any wait staff. At this point it is 9:25 and we've been seated for 25 minutes without even water. Finally a waitress comes, and takes our drink order, and our food order as we'd definitely had ample time to look over the menu. About 9:50 the food arrives. My wife and kids' food comes and is great. My food comes and looks off, and the waitress tells me that the kitchen accidentally made me a "veggie" scramble instead of the chorizo that I had ordered, but that she'd get me some bacon and all was well. I asked what was in the veggie scramble and was told it has mushrooms, which is a hard pass for me. She told me she could have what I had actually ordered made but it would "take a long time". I said O.K. - what else was I going to do? Finally it comes, and my wife is done eating, and the kids are close, so, I asked for it to be "boxed up". The waitress rolled her eyes and set to the task. I'm not a restaurant snob - but I really expected an apology or something to be "comp'd" due to the rough experience, but nope, full bill and no apology. Regrettably, despite Franny's being a local joint and having good food, we won't be back.

The three of us ordered the "rib eye" chicken fried steak senior lunch meal with mashed potatoes and salad. The only thing good was the salad and our drink order. When the server was told the lunch was actually disgusting, she didn't apologize for the cooks not doing their job nor asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. When my husband went to pay the check, the manager was doing the cash register and my husband conveyed to him that the food (except for the salad) was not up to par and we wouldn't be back. That manager couldn't care less...didn't offer a discount on the ticket nor to comp the meals for something else to redeem themselves for a return visit! Save a trip and go directly to Mel's Diner across the street for a much better food experience and server cheerfulness. Afterwards, we went to McD's for an ice cream cone to cleanse our palates and got something else for dinner. If I could give a zero rating, I would!!! Very disappointing!!!

For those of you looking for that caffeine fix and wish to venture out of the Sacramento area,…read more"Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." will have you covered. Ever since their opening back in 2016, this has been a wildly popular spot to enjoy inside or on-the-go with their convenient drive-thru. Located right next to a Quik Stop gas station and a Subway, this place is conveniently at the corner of Diamond Rd (Highway 49) and Pleasant Valley Rd in the small community of Diamond Springs. I also wanted to mention that they have very generous hours of operation being opened Monday through Saturday from 5:30am to 4:30pm while being closed on Sunday. I ended up coming here during the afternoon of Saturday 6/15/2024 at around 2:15pm. Since this was well past the morning rush, there were no other customers inside and not a single vehicle parked directly outside. As far as the exterior layout, it uses freestanding rocks which gives it a castle-like appearance. The interior though is very impressive as they've utilized the walls with floral-type balconies, a large painting with more floral arrangements surrounding it, and vintage furniture which has a very nostalgic look as if you've stepped back in time. I also wanted to point out that there is a spacious outdoor sitting area for the most comfortable days. First and foremost, the menu here is quite impressive with a huge selection of coffees, espressos, teas, quenchers, blended drinks, and smoothies. They also carry a nice assortment of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, burritos, croissants, and crepes. And for the lunch crowd, they even offer pizza, pasta, soup, and traditional sandwiches. I ended up ordering a slice of their pepperoni pizza with a small mango smoothie while my significant other went with a bacon, egg, & cheddar bagel with an iced Americano. Our drinks were ready within a couple minutes while our food came shortly thereafter. I will say that the mango smoothie was delicious as it was refreshing without being too overbearingly sweet. However, the pizza was just okay for me as it was a bit on the soggy side and not too crisp. Same goes with the bagel as there were more small clumps of bacon (instead of full-cut bacon). And the eggs, they resembled more of a processed scramble egg with a perfectly cut square; I have a feeling it might be frozen and heated to save time. However, the bagel was good and had nice texture to it. Still at $10 for the breakfast bagel, this was a bit on the pricier side. All in all, "Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." is a decent place that has a lot of character and charm to it. The young staff working here were very kind, courteous, and accommodating while the ambiance is definitely a home run in my book. I'd stick with the coffee as this is their strong point. But for a stop before work or even if you're heading to Tahoe or the foothills, this is a decent above average business. My rating, four stars.
