They never judge me for taking an eternity to make a decision. There are so many options and so many combinations that it will probably take you a few dozen visits to try the same combo twice. They have 8 bases: 6 different kinds of lettuce, quinoa, and wild rice. Then there are over two dozens mixings available. Carrots, avacado, seeds, cucumbers, eggs, the list is endless. I love those little Parmesan crisps! Then there are like a dozen kinds of dressings. I have tried both the Thai peanut and basil lime. I really like both. They have balsamic vinegar, Cesar, yogurt, etc. Finally, there are five kinds of proteins: I can personally vouch for the salmon and chicken. My coworker enjoyed the portobello mushrooms! Holy cow! I put off going to this place for months and now I completely regret that decision. I never want to eat healthy and would prefer stuffing my face with pizza and tacos, so obviously I never had a craving to go here. Luckily, I have a Yelp event tonight at a steakhouse, and knowing that I would be stuffing my face later, I chose to eat light for lunch....so Greenbeat had my full attention this afternoon. I love places that give you the option to "create your own", it's an easy way to tailor your salad to be over-the-top healthy, packed with protein, or just a mish mosh of things you love. I chose the latter. My salad consisted of spinach, wild rice, cherry tomatoes, roasted eggplant, goat cheese, avocado, chicken and topped off with a basil lime dressing. This salad was out of this world good. I honestly didn't even feel like I was eating a salad, it was more like a giant bowl of deliciousness that didn't seem healthy, but was. They have a board up on the wall near the start of the line to order where they list everything that they are offering that is organic that day, which I think is awesome! Some of their ingredients seem to change based on what's fresh, as I noticed that they did not offer the roasted asparagus today (bummer). If you want to create your own salad, you get to choose two bases (such as kale, spring mix, spinach, wild rice, quinoa) and then four toppings. One thing I find amazing is that every place I go to avocado is an extra charge, but not here! You can even use two of your toppings if you want to double up on it, too! They have a large selection of toppings to choose from, so sometimes it can be hard to keep it at a four topping minimum, but if you want to add extra, it's only $0.75 per topping. At the end of the line is where you can add your protein, which is extra. Some protein options include chicken, shrimp, portobello mushrooms, roasted asparagus, and salmon. The portions are large here, so I definitely think you get your money's worth. Don't forget to ask for bread or chips at the end of the line to go with your salad (which is free). They also have a fun Stubborn Soda fountain instead of your usual Coke/Pepsi. The flavors that Stubborn Soda offer are really good ( I recommend the mango or black cherry)! I would without a doubt recommend Greenbeat to anyone, especially if you aren't a salad lover...because you can definitely find something here you'll love and will change your mind that healthy eating can be delicious! read more

2017 Review 87/100 Greenbeat might be my new favorite lunch spot downtown. Or at least, it's tied with Raw Juice Bar. I love it enough to make the trek from Thornton Park during lunch time. If you're a salad lover/healthy eater this place needs to be on your list to try. They have a great selection of fresh and delicious ingredients. You can choose from one of the salads on their menu or create your own. The staff is super nice and the restaurant is really cool and modern. I love the crate shelf wall they have. On a nice day you can even sit outside to enjoy your salad, as they do have some outdoor seating. Great lunch spot. I'll return many times over. read more

A healthy alternative downtown! This place is great. It leaves you feeling satisfied, but feeling good about yourself instead of feeling like crap after eating unhealthy! I hear this place gets pretty crowded during lunch time so an early or late lunch may be better time to go here. It is a unique salad place that you could make hundreds of combinations. You start off with your base where you get to pick out two things. You can get quinoa, spinach, kale, wild rice, really any type of lettuce you'd want in a salad. You can even combine two different types if you're indecisive. Next, you get 4 toppings. I picked spinach and quinoa as my base, and for my 4 toppings I chose feta, sundried tomatoes, roasted eggplant, and chick peas. There are so many toppings to choose from here, ranging from cheeses, fruits, vegetables and more! I would recommend feta because who doesn't like feta?!? As well as the roasted eggplant had great flavor and helped in filling me up. They also have proteins to add on if you'd like chicken/ other meats. Personally, I did not add on any, because I figured the chick peas and eggplant would be enough protein for me. They also have craft sodas which are a refreshing change than the normal coke/pepsi products normally offered. I tried their iced passion tea, mixed with one of the lemonade products from the craft soda machine which was super good. I would highly recommend mixing the two if they are offering them! The first time I went, I was overwhelmed by the options, particularly the dressings. I ended up getting the Thai high salad, which was very good. I was worried the thai peanut dressing wouldn't be up to my standards but it was great. My second time wasn't as nice. I ordered the Mango and Shrimp salad which comes with fresh mango and mango vinaigrette. The mango was very hard and green, not ripe at all. Therefore the salad was missing sweetness and the mango pieces were not nice to chew on. The mango vinaigrette is not very sweet so my salad ended up just tasting like a bunch of greens, shrimp, and lime. I don't think they should be serving mango if it isn't even close to being ripe. It's visibly unripe and I'm sure they felt how hard it was when they diced the mango so I can't chalk it up to them not knowing about it. Considering how pricey the salad is, there is no excuse for this so I took away a star. I really like their lemongrass tea. read more

5 stars for a fantastic new (and healthy) spot in Orlando. When it comes to salad, most people order it instead of tastier options since they want to watch their calories. While you do have the occasional tasty salad option, watching everyone else eat other dishes isn't always fun. Fortunately, Greenbeat, which is located on Orange Avenue near the BOA building, decided to do something about it. Like with other "custom selection" restaurants, Greenbeat makes salad interesting my providing lots of options and giving you control over what you eat. When you walk into the restaurant (which IMO looks like something out of California), you see a very modern look, with an interesting wooden decor to the right, a row of nice small woods tables (they also have a few tables outside), and a modern looking bar to the left. The way it works is you walk up to the bar and pick out each part of your menu, whether it is the green (i.e. lettuce, spinach, quinoa, etc), the vegetables, the fruits, the toppings, etc. While they have various suggested combinations that you can do, I usually like to come up with my own idea and see where it goes. They also offer meats that you can put on top of your salad for a few extra dollars. I would highly recommend trying some of these meats because I believe they are steamed and just generally taste healthier. When I visit, I usually order a spinach salad and have them add some cabbage, nuts, maybe a fruit, balsamic dressing (they also offer some type of dressing enhancer for free to go along with it), and chicken. If you remember to ask, they will also give you a piece of bread. While I don't normally order sodas, I do order it here because they have a Boylan soda fountain (something I haven't seen anywhere else in Orlando). Since the place is fairly new, I've also noticed that the entire staff is very very friendly and eager to talk to you about the restaurant or hook you up with little things to get you to come back. This place also has a rewards system (I think it is something like Buy 5 get 1 free, but don't quote me on it) that makes this a great place for someone to grab lunch if they work downtown or have to be there for an extended period of time (aka jury duty). Overall, Greenbeat is an awesome healthy lunch spot with a unique salad ordering system, excellent ingredients, a clean and updated interior, and an overall healthy and friendly vibe. Start by choosing a base (various types of lettuce, quinoa or lime wild rice), choose up to four ingredients and a dressing. Their lettuce is fresh and quinoa delectable. They have a bounty of toppings to choose from. I can never stick with just four. They have premium options including roasted salmon, shrimp ceviche, fresh hummus, chicken and even roasted portobello. The dressings are incredible! Discovered that they are all house made with the exception of caesar (which is from Lighthouse). The vegan tahini and agave dijon are my two personal favorites. There are several preconfigured signature bowls to choose from. The "Orlando Cobb" is quite good. The environment is clean and modern throughout. Good use of natural wood, large screens presenting their ingredients and fun books/plants/items on display. There is generally soothing instrumental music playing. I have had the opportunity to speak with one of the owner's a couple times. Greenbeat is family owned and operated. They have a second location by the outlets. They are simply the nicest people. Greenbeat has quickly become my favorite healthy spot. Consistently good service and delicious ingredients. Five stars for an awesome and healthy spot with modern vibe. The north end of downtown is a restaurant dead zone. So when I friend told me about Greenbeat, I was so excited and went the very next day. Even going in with high expectations, Greenbeats delivered. This restaurant does salads. Interesting, delicious and substantial salads. You can choose a to order a pre-selected salad or design your own. The toppings are amazing and they do not skimp on quality. My salad had delicious cranberry goat cheese, a pile of kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, two kinds of lettuce and an entire half of a Hass avocado. All that is before the roasted asparagus and chicken. For dressing, I got olive oil and a half lime freshly squeezed over the lettuce. Even after they prepare your giant salad, you still get the option of chips, bread and a couple other side items. It's pretty crazy. Also, the space is modern and spotless. All the employees were friendly and seemed happy to be working. There's also a loyalty program so you can earn discounts. After heading to Greenbeat for my now 3rd time I consider myself a regular. I first found this place after searching for healthier options to eat in Downtown Orlando and Greenbeat definitely lives up to that expectation. The staff there are really nice and knowledgeable about all they have to offer. I typically go for the create your own salad but this time I decided to try one of their specialty bowls on the board. I think there are about 6 of them and they all sound equally delicious. I opted for the Orlando Cobb and it did not disappoint. It's flavors go together wonderfully and would delight any salad enthusiast. I felt I might be a little hungry after so I asked to add quinoa and thought it was awesome the server offered to do less greens in place so he wouldn't have to charge extra.
