This review is solely based on their kebab wrap... Place is quaint the people are very nice. I was hoping for a chicken shawarma wrap, but they do not have. Instead guy sold me on a chicken kebab wrap, saying the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, like most wraps are, it was dry. The sauce was a bit sour and tasted more like mayonnaise than anything else. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and crisp. The pita was slightly toasted and not chewy at all, which I prefer, but it did tear immediately because how thin it was. All in all, not that impressive. I also ordered a vanilla latte that was not very good. I do realize this place is not a cafe, but I had hoped for better. The rave reviews must be either people aren't familiar with good wraps or their other food is better. read more

Great little spot in Pasadena for kebabs. Neighboring Glendale has better for sure but this is a great local spot. The beef and lulu were great. It has a very small inside dining area as well as outside; more of a takeout situation, but still charming. There's only two spots for parking behind the store so likely need to street park. Service was very friendly and generous! They asked if I had ever been before and when I answered no, they gave me a free dessert. You can tell they've been in the neighborhood for a while and have their regulars. Only downside is I wish they gave more rice or pitas for the price. It is $20 for a chicken plate and I understand prices are up for everyone, but with the two plates we ordered totaling over $50, it would be difficult to come here as much as the owners want and deserve. read more

I've been meaning to try green street cafe for a while and I'm sad I didn't try it sooner. The kebabs were delicious!! The beef steak and lula were so juicy and flavorful! The chicken was good too but I liked the beef ones better. If you are new, I highly recommend you get the combo so you can try a bit of everything. Totally worth it! The hummus was rich and creamy and the grilled veggies were super good too. They have outdoor seating so I look forward to walking over with my dog next time instead of doing pick up! Solid Mediterranean food. The fattoush was l fresh and well dressed. There isn't a lot of room to hide if you aren't using quality ingredients. The lettuce was fresh, the tomatoes were ripe, and the dressing had a great flavor. The fried pita on top was thin, crispy perfection. The falafel platter was solid. Falafel were well seasoned, crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside. Th hummus and pita were also good. I heard the tabouli was outstanding, I didn't try it. Came here for the first time today and I'll definitely be back. Everything was cooked so well especially the chicken and steak. Usually at other places they tend to be kind of dry or lack in flavor, but I loved their's here! My husband enjoyed the chicken and steak a lot as well. I believe the place is family owned from the vibes I got when I walked in - I ordered online through DoorDash and I believe who was the owner told me it's better to order online directly through them because they charge more on DoorDash. Their Falafel is fantastic!!! We got a side of it with the Chicken Kebab Plate. The Falafel looks like fried donuts and has the perfect crispiness to it and tastes so good with their garlic sauce and hummus!! Their pita bread was so warm and soft and complimented everything well. The rice they use is delicious and flavored and textured so well!! We sat outside but unfortunately fell victim to some mosquitoes. It is a nice setting outside with their lights and you get a little view of the mountain. The small disco light was a little too much though. Service is a little lacking only cause it's a couple running things. We asked for water (and we had biked here so I was extra thirsty) and after 10min, had to ask again. This is a great restraunt for lunch or dinner. Their kebab plates are very filling and leave you stuffed. Their wraps are great for a smaller meal that still fills you up. All of their food is delicious and well balanced. I greatly enjoyed their protein shakes, especially the RazzleDazzle which a sweet treat on a hot day. They have a few tables inside and then more outside, in the shade which when the weather isnt the breaking heat records makes for a great outside seating area. The proprietors are friendly and very helpful, going out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. Great food, service, and location. I had some time to kill between doctor appointments and decided to grab a bite and a cup of matcha. The cafe was situated between the two offices, which was convenient. Anyway, both the drink and the food were great. I had a falafel wrap and an iced matcha. I love tzatziki, so I ordered a bit on the side. It had chunky pieces of cucumbers in it. Never been served tzatziki like that before. It was great! Will definitely be going back soon. read more

Given we were displaced due to the Eaton Cyn fires we ended up in an apartment down the street from Green Street Cafe. While we have driven by it many times due to living in the area, we never explored going there. We walked there from our apartment to check it out and OMG we were SOOO glad we did. This is a husband and wife team that take tremendous pride in their food and service. Their chicken kabob plates were delicious. Most important, they are such a wonderful couple. We enjoy stopping to say hello when walking in the neighborhood. We will miss seeing them on a regular basis when we move back to our home, however, we will definitely get food to go!! Came here to grab a quick bite before our dinner reservation at the sushi place across the street. My friends and I got some hummus to share and we were asked not to sit in front of the place if we were waiting for the sushi restaurant even though we had purchased food. The hummus was delicious and fresh, but definitely felt uncomfortable being asked not to enjoy our food in front of the restaurant. I came in a little bit after 7pm and ordered the chicken kabob plate to go. This place is definitely a little hole in the way type of place. There aren't many seats indoors about 3 tables but there is also outdoor seating as well. I was told that it would take about 15 minutes to make as they do everything by scratch. The service was friendly and they did deliver the food in the time frame provided. Their current menu they have outside for you to see do not show you the current prices that they are using. There is a sign by the cashier spot that says "Due to price inflation on produce, meats and other products. We will increase the menu prices starting Monday September 20, 2021". There is no updated menu prices in the store so just so you're aware that prices may be $1 or $2 more than what is listed on paper. On the menu, it says the chicken kebab plate is $16.25. It ended up being $18.71 for the plate and $20.63 with tax before tip. It's a little pricier than other places I've been to like Mediterranean Grill or Hummus Lab but it's definitely a mom and pop type of shop. The plate comes with 4 pieces of chicken with a bed of rice, hummus, a grilled tomato, a grilled pepper, garlic dip, and one pita bread. The chicken was good, moist not dry and pretty large pieces. The rice had a lot of flavor, it was quite delicious! The hummus was pretty average. The grilled tomato to and peppers were so burnt I barely ate it sadly. The garlic dip tasted more like garlic mayo. The dip was so creamy compared to what I normally taste at other establishments. It was very strong on the garlic which I appreciated but it just felt so heavy in texture. Although I love a good mom and pop especially restaurants, I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be in terms of the food. The chicken and rice were great but the rest of the plate fell short for me unfortunately. read more
