I ordered through the uber eats AP but after I came inside to pick up my meal, I decided I really loved the idea of buying Whoopi pies made with oatmeal cookies and a coffee, both were fantastic. The coffee wasn't too acidic and I was happy about that, it was the perfect balance and woke me up from My sleepiness. I had the orange chicken bowl and it hit the spot! I ate almost the whole thing but tapped out on the noodles. Such a generous portion and I will definitely come back to try the vegan chicken po boy next visit!
This place is amazing!! I stopped by today for the first time and was genuinely amazed. The food is soooo yummy and they have so many options to choose from! It's amazing having some of my favorite meals in a vegan form. The staff was really friendly. I got the west coast fries with taco crumbles. I will definitely be back!
me and my friends were OBSESSED with Nami (7th st) like 12 years ago, kinda forgot about it, started craving it recently, and FINALLY made our way back (to this location). YES you can tell the difference between this soft serve and "regular" soft serve, but that doesn't make it any less delicious, some would just say different LOL. me and my bestie both got their fluffynutter'n tsoynami, she got hers with chocolate soft serve and i got a swirl. DELICIOUSSSS! i did go home and top it with some of my current obsession snacks (it had to be done) and it was the most satisfying end to my night i could've asked for. service was EXCEPTIONAL. i wish i got the name of the man helping us, but he was super patient and kind while i was asking a bunch of questions and talking away. the restaurant is also large, spacious, and clean. they have a cute patio attached to their space as well! i will be back ASAP
Have come here many times. The staff are always very friendly, the food comes out pretty quickly and is delicious. My go to is the street burger and east coast fries. Fun decorations / vibes and they host different trivia events.
Green New American Vegetarian has been my go-to vegetarian restaurant for many years. This location is the original. There's also a location on 7th Street in Phoenix. Some of my favorite menu items are: Hummus - They recently have taken this off their menu, but I really hope it comes back someday. This is my favorite hummus. Warning: it will give you very strong garlic breath, but it's worth it! Big Wac - Their take on the Big Mac. I recently tried this with a mock chicken patty instead of the mock beef patty, and I liked it even more. It was the best mock chicken that I've ever eaten. It comes with fries, which are some of the best fries I've ever eaten. Highly recommend! Soynami - Their take on the Dairy Queen Blizzard. This is a dairy-free treat. They have a ton of different toppings that can be added. I sometimes just stop in for a soynami instead of a meal, since they are quite large. My boyfriend, who is not vegetarian, also enjoys this restaurant. There's definitely something for everyone!
I love Green! Had a craving for a burger, fries, and a shake and the "Fleetwood Wac" delivered. I love that they use Beyond patties but give them a Green twist by pressing them and mixing in some of their own spices, etc. The thyme fries always satisfy and I'm a big sucker for my usual PB N Chocolate Tsoynami with added cookie dough. I couldn't resist getting an order of the Damn Dan Noodles to try later, and they were epic! Tons of traditional Dan Dan flavor with some strong spice. Highly recommend this dish! Inside, it was so exciting to see "Art 4 Animals" for sale on the hallway walls and in the bathroom. I walked away with something SUPER cool. See you again soon, Green!
Yesterday's visit we had the Damn Dan Noodles and Fleetwood Wac. Perfectly delicious food with generous portion sizes as usual!
I'm not vegetarian but have cut down on meat over the years. Green New American popped in my search and it sounded good so we gave it a try. As others have noted, the inside is unique and eclectic. There's no table service so you order your food, get assigned a table flag, and they'll bring your order to you. Overall the food was very good. The fried Brussels were cooked well but I gotta say that there was too much salt. It would have been perfect otherwise. The Damn Dan Noodles were delish! I substituted the "beef" with fried tofu and I was very happy. The taste was superb! I'd come back for this again. The golden curry bowl was also good but it didn't lack the flavor punch as the Damn Dan Noodles. All dishes came out piping hot which I do notice. The staff at the counter were friendly and inviting. The minor bummer is that the floor between the front and back was sticky.
I was so excited to check this place out since everything looks amazing on IG. The menu was stacked with delicious sounding items, so it was really hard to choose. We tried a couple of things - the mushroom Swiss special, crab, rangoon, and a burger with bacon and cheese. Everything we had was delicious. Even my meat eating brother was devouring everything. The mushroom Swiss was my favorite with its house made seitan roast beast, melty Swiss, grilled button mushrooms, and caramelized onions. Too bad it was just a special. It was nice and juicy/greasy in the best way possible. The fries were nice and crispy. The crab rangoon were good, but there wasn't much of a crab flavor so I would probably not order those again. That is fine with me, because I want to try everything else on the menu. They also had a very extensive list of shake flavors. Too bad we were too stuffed to try them.
I ordered the Chicago Cheesesteak, Lemon- Garlic Bowtie pasta, Thyme fries, and the Life's a Peach for dessert. The Cheesesteak was divine! The dessert was well worth the calories. The fries and pasta were not particularly tasty, lacked seasoning and in the interest of not being wasteful - will be shared with the unsheltered gentleman I see as I walk to work.
If you are vegan or vegetarian, would for sure recommend! They had a large menu with lots of variety. And while you could definitely tell the "meat" was not real meat, the food was tasty overall. Service was friendly. The food did take a while to come out, but it was hot and fresh.

I came here for the Big Wac and coleslaw. Looking at the new menu, I didn't see the cole slaw listed any more. The nice person at the counter told me that they could make it for me, even though it was no longer featured on the menu! How nice! I was served pretty quickly, and I loved every bite! Good fresh food, sweet service, and a water and ice machine featuring a picture of Ice Cube! I'll be back to try other dishes! Thanks!! read more

If you're vegan, vegetarian, or just want to eat some delicious healthy food head over to Green. Fantastic options for all. I used come here all the time during my undergrad and always loved the food and service. My partner is a vegetarian and he is a big fan. This is a must stop every time we visit family in AZ. Our most recent trip was just as fun. We started off with the buffalo wings which had an excellent crunch paired with a spicy buffalo sauce. I was very impressed with the sauce. For our main dishes I ordered the peanut chick'n salad which came with a yummy peanut sauce and plenary of greens. The mock chick'n was crunchy and filling. I'm a meat eater and I really enjoy the mock chick'n here. My partner ordered the spicy po'boy. He devoured the whole sandwich and loved the spice. We've eaten at a lot of vegan/vegetarian places but this by far our favorite place to go. Wish they had these branches in San Francisco. We would be there everyday! read more

All the good: I have eaten at vegan joints all over the country at this point and also love to cook food that would make a non vegan do a double take when they take a bite. But Green has most definitely perfected that art. We have tried everything on the menu as well as a ridiculous amount of their specials over our year and a half of living in AZ. The portions are great, the flavors never leave anything lacking, and all of the sauces are INSANE(Even if you just get their thyme fries, I highly recommend just trying the different sauces that way). The prices are reasonable and you definitely get more than what you pay for. We find it difficult to go to other restaurants in the area just based off of the value alone. Some vegan places are notorious for being pricey AND also having smaller portions, Green breaks that rule! It is always clean and the seating outside is a great addition when the weather makes sense. The case of drinks/drink cooler really covers the spectrum of flavors and I have enjoyed everything I have tried from it. The art on the walls and overall vibe is solid and fun, but simple. Counter service and they bring out the food. EVERY SINGLE TIME they ask if there is anything else that you need and they are very attentive if you do! They definitely have some wonderful humans employed there. All around smiles and positive energy. The things I feel could use a little love: The music...I love all types of music and can really vibe with anything for the most part. I feel like 9 times out of 10 it is 80s new wave or like a vampire disco and I just don't get it lol. Anything else. Alternative, pop, chill, indie, acoustic, something top 40, even folk or lofi would fit the vibe better. The alcohol prices and selection. I have managed restaurants in the past and I know that it is far from a "bar" vibe, but having reasonably priced drinks would definitely lead to people ordering another drink more often. Lastly the happy hour. I could make a spread sheet with the average cost we spend at Green because of how often we eat there, and happy hour doesn't change the price even enough to notice a difference. Overall: The pros outweigh any tiny con a hundred fold, and even with the small things, it is still my favorite restaurant EVER. Truly. No joke. No lie. Even before I was vegan I don't think I ever enjoyed food as much as Green. In the 13 states I have lived plus many more passing through, Green is my number one hands down. It is the place that I would bring any non vegan and KNOW that they would enjoy it. Possibly blow their mind and open it to veganism in that process. read more

WOAH! This place took me by surprise and won my heart (and hunger) over. With my vegan-eating-practice in full-swing, I was looking for an epic "last day of my vacation" vegan meal; and oh woman, did Green New American DELIVER. For starters, the restaurant has an open-space concept and has mostly booth seating along with a couple tables. (Fantastic for social distancing) It's got a chic/hipster/artsy vibe with enjoyable music in the background. You can place your order at the front counter and if you're dining in, are given a number placard to place on your table. Let's move on to the good stuff; THE FOOD! I wanted my taste buds to tingle so I went ahead and ordered the award-winning buffalo chicken wings with housemade ranch. These were unbelievably delicious!! The faux wings were hot, fresh, crispy, had the perfect amount of sauce, and were really elevated with the ranch. This was my absolute favorite thing out of my order. I also had the Santa Monica Burger special - which was tasty and very filling. I quite enjoyed the combination of the grilled poblano with the crunchy onions - YUM! Lastly, I ordered a side of the fried Brussels sprouts - which were a no-go for me. I really tried to like these, but they were overloaded with salt and were borderline inedible. I couldn't leave without trying the tSoynami - especially since it's been so long since I've had vegan ice cream. I was feeling explorative so I went ahead and ordered the MASH (where you are given a mystery flavor/assortment of toppings - you just select if you'd like a vanilla, chocolate, or swirl base) I cannot tell you what all of the toppings were in my tSoynami but OH MY GOSH was it astronomically and explosively delicious. This officially won the award of "the vegan ice cream that changed my life". Please do your tastebuds a favor and order a tSoynami! Asides from the majorly disappointing Brussels sprouts, all else was a homerun! I highly recommend making the drive over to this spot for some absolutely delectable vegan/vegetarian friendly food. I will definitely be stopping here for a bite the next time I am in town! read more

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Green New American Vegetarian, and while we enjoyed the overall experience, there were a few hiccups that prevented us from giving it a full five stars. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely, and the staff were friendly, but the service was just okay.The main reason for the four-star rating was our order of West Coast fries, which unfortunately arrived drenched in sauce and served cold. This was a bit disappointing as we were looking forward to trying them. However, the saving grace was the deliciousness of our Big WAC burgers. They were flavorful, satisfying, and a definite highlight of the meal. Despite the minor issues with our order, we appreciated the efforts of the staff and the quality of the food overall. With some improvements in service and attention to detail, Green New American Vegetarian has the potential to be a five-star dining destination. We would consider returning in the future, especially for those mouthwatering Big WAC burgers. read more

Whew! This food was amazing! I got their regular burger and added cheese. It was soooo good. Hands down the best vegan burger I've ever had. I want to go back!! I ordered their Buffalo wings but even though I loved the sauce and the crispy outside, the inside was too mushy for me. I can't eat soft textures so it didn't work well for me even though the flavor was very good. I didn't eat all of them. I also ordered the spinach queso fundido which was basically like spinach artichoke dip and it was very good. I loved the staff. The place was casual but very creative inside. My only negative was that I spent 20+ minutes waiting for my wings and spinach dip. I received my burger within maybe 10 minutes of ordering. Everything was fresh and hot, though. I'd definitely come back for another treat! read more

First time here and was pleasantly surprised. It came recommended from my vegetarian friend who suggested the BFF which is a vegan chicken sandwich. At first I had no desire to try but was convinced because it came with jalapeños and guacamole ....it was delish. My friend who is not vegetarian has the Big WAC said it was good, it tasted like a Big Mac. :-) had the fries with thyme and they were good. We would definitely recommend and I will return. Wanted to try a nice local vegan restaurant and this place does it all! Everything is vegetarian or vegan and delicious , so hard to choose! I got the BFF chicken sandwich and it came loaded with toppings and vegan cheddar and sauces , so good, also got a side of west coast fries topped with cheese and thousand island dressing were so tasty too! A little on the pricey side but you get top quality Ingredients and the portions are quite filling so it is worth TBH. Next time I return I might try a different sandwich bc they have so many tasty sounding options but definitely worth checking out and I'd recommend, this place does it right and has some great cooks! The big wac is good. Go with their recommendation. I didn't and chose the Chicago cheesesteak. It needed more tempeh. It was also greasy. The chili fries was a big disappointment. It was chili in a bowl and French fries. You could not put the chili over the fries as it's too watery. Also the chili is lacking heat. read more

So good we came here twice while in town. The staff is friendly and helpful, the ambiance is fun, and everything was delicious. This is comfort/junk food for vegans. My favorite was the Secret BBQ Sammy and the Brussels sprouts, but the tahini coleslaw is really good too. There's plenty of parking out front, gender-neutral bathrooms, lots of indoor seating, and some outdoor seating. read more

I first visited Green many years ago and after 12 years, I have finally returned. A bit has changed since my last visit but with overall such positive reviews on Yelp, they all appeared to be for the better. This time, I ordered the sesame dragon, which comprised of spicy garlic, ginger, organic tamari, and toasted organic chickpea miso, topped with fresh scallions ($10.50). While the flavors, ingredients and portion were fine, I was left underwhelmed with my overall experience. I waited a long time for my takeout order and the staff didn't seem attentive to the customers. Also, most of their menu comprises of spicy selections, not leaving many options for those who like a light spiciness or none at all. When I ordered the sesame dragon, I asked for the sauce on the side. Without the sauce, the dish itself had plenty of flavor. I didn't end up using the sauce at all. I know this place is great for vegan and GF options and for those who like spice. I've heard many positive things about Green from those with diets as I just have specified. Perhaps, I'm just not their targeted demographic and that's okay. So, while I wouldn't say my experience was negative, I appreciate the fact that this is a thriving local business in the valley. However, for me, it may be another 12 years before I return. read more
We recently made the switch to a whole-food plant-based diet and we immediately started our search for restaurants around the state that served our new fare. It has been a fun adventure finding new restaurants and new foods at our favorite restaurants. Green is on of our new restaurants and it immediately became a go-to. They have a great variety to choose from, whether it is burgers, sandwiches, rice bowls, even ice cream! Service has always been great and very friendly and there is plenty of seating both inside and outside on a nice little patio. At this restaurant you order at the counter and then pick a seat and they bring your food to you. I have enjoyed each of our visits here and look forward to the next one. I highly recommend whether you are a vegan or not, everything has been delicious! This place was right on time. Had a and can never trust there will be good vegan options at the airport. The Dagobah Jungle salad was so flavorful with their jerk seasoned fried brussel sprouts. This was not a spicy dish just packed with flavor. The dressing was bold and creamy and a great compliment. This was followed by the seitan cheese steak. The bread was soft yet held up well against the densely packed sandwich. It was a chewy delight. Dessert was the densest peanut butter bar ever. Had all this crunch embedded and a layer of chocolate on top. Absolutely will return to this place again. read more

Cute little spot with a very unique menu. Great customer service and suggestions from the staff. Ordered the deliciously crispy Macauliflower tacos! Tastes just like a really good perfectly fried fish street taco! Definitely order two or three if you have a big appetite. Either way a must when visiting! read more

The big whac is ahmaaazing (yes I sang it). This was the most delicious guiltless burger I have ever had in my life! Definitely at the top of my list for vegetarian options. And it still gave me the same satisfaction of wanting to go to sleep after a great and filling meal. The buffalo wings were equally as delicious! read more

It was a last-minute split decision on where to go for dinner, we ended up here and very glad that we did. I was hungry for my favorite Sandwich: the Chicago cheesesteak. As always, we topped it off with dessert - the Chocolate mashup. Zack at the front counter helped us out, very friendly and nice and made some good sandwich suggestions. The other location in Phoenix usually puts plenty of ingredients in the sandwich - vegan meat, cheese, spicy pickles, tomatoes, mayo, lettuce; and the ice cream is often overflowing. I mentioned it because the last time I was here my sandwich had very little cheese and mayo. I'm glad that I mentioned it because my My cheesesteak sandwich arrived overflowing with a side of mayo and more delicious than before, as well as my dessert. Just moved to Tempe last May and this is OUR go to spot. Seriously these are the greatest burgers we have had since becoming vegetarian over a decade ago. So much YUM that it isn't even fair. Ask for a side of their Wac sauce and get an order of Thyme Fries. Then remember to thank me later. Loved pairing our burger and fries with a local Papago Orange Blossom beer... so flipping good. Our daughter is a big fan of their Mango Peach Angry Orchard Cider. They also make their own version of a margarita that my wife really enjoys. Pretty much we haven't had a bad drink in this place. We are also big fans of their Brussel sprouts, samosas, and their award winning vegan buffalo wings. THAT SAUCE NOW!!! When I don't get a burger, and I want something super tasty and healthy, I order their Dagobah Jungle. Such an interesting combination of flavors. I feel stronger with every bite. This dish is made with these amazing Jerk spiced fried brussels sprouts served over fresh greens and tossed in their Jamaican jungle dressing. The Force is strong with this dish... You may be full already, but I am certainly not done yet because we haven't even gotten to the very best part of this place... tSoynamis... best vegan desserts EVAH!!! Don't know nothing bout dem tSoynamis??? I stole this 'splanation right off their menus What's the deal with tSoynamis? A tSoynami is an ice cream treat that gives you super powers!* It starts with our organic unrefined cane sugar, organic soy and coconut milk tSoft tServe ice cream, your choice of vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. This is one of my favorite Vegan Restaurants in This city! Great flavors and fresh food. The tacos were apart of the specials only seen on the chalkboard while in person. Make sure you get a couple cookies to go! Parking in the rear and side, not many spaces. Also, beverages in the cooler and freshly made juices as well. read more
