I used come here all the time during my undergrad and always loved the food and service. My partner is a vegetarian and he is a big fan. This is a must stop every time we visit family in AZ. Our most recent trip was just as fun. We started off with the buffalo wings which had an excellent crunch paired with a spicy buffalo sauce. I was very impressed with the sauce. For our main dishes I ordered the peanut chick'n salad which came with a yummy peanut sauce and plenary of greens. The mock chick'n was crunchy and filling. I'm a meat eater and I really enjoy the mock chick'n here. My partner ordered the spicy po'boy. He devoured the whole sandwich and loved the spice. All the good: I have eaten at vegan joints all over the country at this point and also love to cook food that would make a non vegan do a double take when they take a bite. But Green has most definitely perfected that art. We have tried everything on the menu as well as a ridiculous amount of their specials over our year and a half of living in AZ. The portions are great, the flavors never leave anything lacking, and all of the sauces are INSANE(Even if you just get their thyme fries, I highly recommend just trying the different sauces that way). The prices are reasonable and you definitely get more than what you pay for. We find it difficult to go to other restaurants in the area just based off of the value alone. Some vegan places are notorious for being pricey AND also having smaller portions, Green breaks that rule! It is always clean and the seating outside is a great addition when the weather makes sense. The case of drinks/drink cooler really covers the spectrum of flavors and I have enjoyed everything I have tried from it. The art on the walls and overall vibe is solid and fun, but simple. Counter service and they bring out the food. EVERY SINGLE TIME they ask if there is anything else that you need and they are very attentive if you do! They definitely have some wonderful humans employed there. All around smiles and positive energy. The things I feel could use a little love: The music...I love all types of music and can really vibe with anything for the most part. I feel like 9 times out of 10 it is 80s new wave or like a vampire disco and I just don't get it lol. Anything else. Alternative, pop, chill, indie, acoustic, something top 40, even folk or lofi would fit the vibe better. The alcohol prices and selection. I have managed restaurants in the past and I know that it is far from a "bar" vibe, but having reasonably priced drinks would definitely lead to people ordering another drink more often. Lastly the happy hour. I could make a spread sheet with the average cost we spend at Green because of how often we eat there, and happy hour doesn't change the price even enough to notice a difference. Overall: The pros outweigh any tiny con a hundred fold, and even with the small things, it is still my favorite restaurant EVER. Truly. No joke. No lie. Even before I was vegan I don't think I ever enjoyed food as much as Green. In the 13 states I have lived plus many more passing through, Green is my number one hands down. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Green New American Vegetarian, and while we enjoyed the overall experience, there were a few hiccups that prevented us from giving it a full five stars. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely, and the staff were friendly, but the service was just okay.The main reason for the four-star rating was our order of West Coast fries, which unfortunately arrived drenched in sauce and served cold. This was a bit disappointing as we were looking forward to trying them. However, the saving grace was the deliciousness of our Big WAC burgers. They were flavorful, satisfying, and a definite highlight of the meal. Despite the minor issues with our order, we appreciated the efforts of the staff and the quality of the food overall. With some improvements in service and attention to detail, Green New American Vegetarian has the potential to be a five-star dining destination. WOAH! This place took me by surprise and won my heart (and hunger) over. With my vegan-eating-practice in full-swing, I was looking for an epic "last day of my vacation" vegan meal; and oh woman, did Green New American DELIVER. For starters, the restaurant has an open-space concept and has mostly booth seating along with a couple tables. (Fantastic for social distancing) It's got a chic/hipster/artsy vibe with enjoyable music in the background. You can place your order at the front counter and if you're dining in, are given a number placard to place on your table. Let's move on to the good stuff; THE FOOD! I wanted my taste buds to tingle so I went ahead and ordered the award-winning buffalo chicken wings with housemade ranch. These were unbelievably delicious!! The faux wings were hot, fresh, crispy, had the perfect amount of sauce, and were really elevated with the ranch. This was my absolute favorite thing out of my order. I also had the Santa Monica Burger special - which was tasty and very filling. I quite enjoyed the combination of the grilled poblano with the crunchy onions - YUM! Lastly, I ordered a side of the fried Brussels sprouts - which were a no-go for me. I really tried to like these, but they were overloaded with salt and were borderline inedible. I couldn't leave without trying the tSoynami - especially since it's been so long since I've had vegan ice cream. I was feeling explorative so I went ahead and ordered the MASH (where you are given a mystery flavor/assortment of toppings - you just select if you'd like a vanilla, chocolate, or swirl base) I cannot tell you what all of the toppings were in my tSoynami but OH MY GOSH was it astronomically and explosively delicious. This officially won the award of "the vegan ice cream that changed my life". Please do your tastebuds a favor and order a tSoynami! Whew! This food was amazing! I got their regular burger and added cheese. It was soooo good. Hands down the best vegan burger I've ever had. I want to go back!! I ordered their Buffalo wings but even though I loved the sauce and the crispy outside, the inside was too mushy for me. I can't eat soft textures so it didn't work well for me even though the flavor was very good. I didn't eat all of them. I also ordered the spinach queso fundido which was basically like spinach artichoke dip and it was very good. I loved the staff. The place was casual but very creative inside. My only negative was that I spent 20+ minutes waiting for my wings and spinach dip. I received my burger within maybe 10 minutes of ordering. Everything was fresh and hot, though. First time here and was pleasantly surprised. It came recommended from my vegetarian friend who suggested the BFF which is a vegan chicken sandwich. At first I had no desire to try but was convinced because it came with jalapeños and guacamole ....it was delish. This was my First time at the restaurant today, great vibe, clean, friendly staff. I loved the Damn Dan Noodles which had the perfect spice. Almost at the whole bowl even though it was huge! I tried Green as a work lunch with some of my colleagues. One of them is a vegetarian and she invited us to try out Green as a way of experiencing vegan food options. I had the "fried chicken" sandwich with a side of thyme fries. It was very delicious! The fries were probably one of the best fries I've ever had, with great seasoning, not too salty at all. The chicken sandwich was very good as well, with a huge resemblance to an actual fried chicken sandwich. A few weeks later, I was missing the thyme fries so much so I went back to Green with my boyfriend and our puppy. We were able to sit on the patio, which was super nice to be able to dine with our puppy. My boyfriend tried the "big mac" and I got the chicken nuggie with fries. As an all-diet eater, I could still tell the "chicken" was not real, but I do feel healthy and proud of myself for taking care of my health. I also tried their Sangria, and the server brought me a huge jar, like huge huge jar. It was freshly made and very yummy. Given the affordable price of their cocktails, I think it is definitely worthwhile to go for drinks and snacks with friends. read more

I have had most of their menu but my top choices I keep going back for are the BFF. Wendy's Pickle. And the Big Wac, which is their take on a Big Mac. Pair that with the fries and it's a meal that will leave you totally full. And to the people behind the counter mad props to you all for being so kind to make sure there wasn't any cashew products in what I eat as that's an epi pen or ER visit for me. This whole experience here was odd, in a good way. The restaurant is not much to look at but they do have comfortable booths. So I had no idea what to try, I just picked the Buffalo "Wings" and east coast fries and a drink. For the drink I got some magical "drink" called Electric Nectar, but it tasted like nothing I have ever tasted. It was good, but it didn't taste like anything I could describe. I don't know if it was a tea or a juice, it is over by the jugs where the tea is located. The wingz came out before the fries but these are not shaped like wings. These are like little squares of "meatless meat" doused in their delicious buffalo wing sauce. It tasted so odd, absolutely NOTHING like a chicken wing, so don't set your expectations there. They are good though and I ordered it twice in the same visit. The east coast fries were really delicious. I was surprised to see that the vegan cheese was really melted, the ranch and buffalo sauce really gave it a good kick. I would say that any vegan or vegetarian should try this place. read more

Wanted to try a nice local vegan restaurant and this place does it all! Everything is vegetarian or vegan and delicious , so hard to choose! I got the BFF chicken sandwich and it came loaded with toppings and vegan cheddar and sauces , so good, also got a side of west coast fries topped with cheese and thousand island dressing were so tasty too! A little on the pricey side but you get top quality Ingredients and the portions are quite filling so it is worth TBH. The Big WAC was my favorite item, but I haven't had it since they've started adding beyond meat to it. Before that it was beyond delicious. I now stick to anything that doesn't have the beyond meat in it. If I could get the Big WAC without the Beyond meat, I would probably eat there twice a week or more. It was a windy, sunny day, which made it difficult to take advantage of their patio, and we ended up moving inside. The staff was friendly and provided excellent suggestions. I had the falafel and they provided plenty of hummus to go along with it. The falafel was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The flavor was stellar and it was made even more delicious with the dips. The pita was fresh, warm and very good. I usually don't eat a lot of bread, but I ended up eating about three all on my own. I first visited Green many years ago and after 12 years, I have finally returned. A bit has changed since my last visit but with overall such positive reviews on Yelp, they all appeared to be for the better. This time, I ordered the sesame dragon, which comprised of spicy garlic, ginger, organic tamari, and toasted organic chickpea miso, topped with fresh scallions ($10.50). While the flavors, ingredients and portion were fine, I was left underwhelmed with my overall experience. I waited a long time for my takeout order and the staff didn't seem attentive to the customers. Also, most of their menu comprises of spicy selections, not leaving many options for those who like a light spiciness or none at all. When I ordered the sesame dragon, I asked for the sauce on the side. Without the sauce, the dish itself had plenty of flavor. I didn't end up using the sauce at all. I know this place is great for vegan and GF options and for those who like spice. I've heard many positive things about Green from those with diets as I just have specified. Perhaps, I'm just not their targeted demographic and that's okay. So, while I wouldn't say my experience was negative, I appreciate the fact that this is a thriving local business in the valley. This is an amazing vegan gem in Scottsdale. Hidden in a strip mall, this place should have a Jumbotron drawing you in. Don't let the non descript exterior turn you away. Really hate there were no pics of the BFF sandwich I devoured recently. It was incredible. Lightly fried chicken flavored tofu with sautéed jalapeños. Phenomenal. Had a side of tahini slaw. It was a last-minute split decision on where to go for dinner, we ended up here and very glad that we did. I was hungry for my favorite Sandwich: the Chicago cheesesteak. As always, we topped it off with dessert - the Chocolate mashup. Zack at the front counter helped us out, very friendly and nice and made some good sandwich suggestions. The other location in Phoenix usually puts plenty of ingredients in the sandwich - vegan meat, cheese, spicy pickles, tomatoes, mayo, lettuce; and the ice cream is often overflowing. I mentioned it because the last time I was here my sandwich had very little cheese and mayo. I'm glad that I mentioned it because my My cheesesteak sandwich arrived overflowing with a side of mayo and more delicious than before, as well as my dessert. Just moved to Tempe last May and this is OUR go to spot.  Seriously these are the greatest burgers we have had since becoming vegetarian over a decade ago.  So much YUM that it isn't even fair.  Ask for a side of their Wac sauce and get an order of Thyme Fries. Then remember to thank me later. Loved pairing our burger and fries with a local Papago Orange Blossom beer... so flipping good. Our daughter is a big fan of their Mango Peach Angry Orchard Cider. I'm a regular at the 602 location but usually only make it to the 480 Green if there's a reason I'm nearby, if we want tacos, or if they have a killer special. Today was #2 + #3. Overall review - the restaurant is great. It's a bit of a calmer environment than the Phoenix location because the parking is better and the line to order is usually shorter. They also have tacos on the menu (Phx Green doesn't). And, this location tends to offer more elaborate/experimental specials on the regular. I think it has more kitchen space for accommodating different ingredients? Today's special - the Banh Mi Burrito - was worth going out of our way for. It was a tortilla stuffed with crispy fried seitan, greens, pickled veggies, crispy won tons and a weird but delicious mixture of sesame seeds, chili oil, chilies and maybe more wan tons? Whatever it was, it was magic. I still desperately miss the wraps Green's owner used to create at the long-closed "That's a Wrap," so this wrap-ritto brought back good memories. For double the "specials" fun, this weeks "chameleon" taco (their weekly taco special) was a "Jill in the Box" - basically a classic ground "meat" taco with a melty cheese slice and traditional salsa. Kids chicken nuggs are a good go bite plus who doesnt crave chicken nuggets when you're not so into chicken anymore!? They come with fries too so this is a plus. Orange chicken rice bowl was sooo good as well, I could taste the fresh orange taste and even had leftovers for lunch the next day! Chicago cheesesteak sounded like the ingredients may not mix well together but in my surprise this handheld was very flavorful and warm! Crab puffs were a pretty good imitation of actual ones, tasted more cheesy but id prefer this since im not a huge crab fan! Tahini coleslaw was my side choice and I have never tried it before but glad I did, its a refreshing nutty twist to add to your palette. My fav fav fav option here is the oatmeal cookie creme pie things, WOW, they are often sold out of these so get them while you can but its well worth it!
