THANK YOU GREENMOUSE! Quick, easy, nice workers, want more could you want? Definitely will keep coming back! read more

Easy to find, easy to access, and really nice people. I was coming in with a bunch of random e-waste leftover from a school event. The gentleman that assisted me was so helpful, kind, and encouraging. When he was thinking aloud about how to process it, I said I can always take it to the garbage if that's easier. His response, "We don't like to hear garbage - we like to hear recycling!" Swoon! Thank you, thank you Green Mouse. read more

Great business run by super friendly people! They take most electronics for free and shred computer hard drives for a reasonable fee.

They don't do free pickups, which is what I was clearly told when I called up. I think they should do free pickups for large items like TVs, I am sure they make money out of recycling them especially if the TV is usable! Then I went ahead and called slmgt.com (Second Life Management) and they picked up my TV and speakers for free within couple of hours! read more

Today I went to drop off some electronics at recycling event at a local school. In the past, this was always free, so I was horrified when this group of scruffy looking guys in their 20's to 30's (not the boy scout troops or whomever who's done this in the past) told me I'd have to pay $40 to drop off a couple of small bags of computer cords and cables, 2 DVD players, a small microwave, and a brass lamp. I thought I was being gouged so I left without dropping anything off. I went home and called Green Mouse and the friendly owner told me I might have to pay as much as $20 to drop off my stuff. She explained why they have to charge now, which made total sense to me. Anyway, I took my stuff there immediately and they only charged me $10. I don't mind paying a nominal fee when disposing of recyclables because the price of these commodities is very low right now and so they can't sell it for as much as they could in the past when it was free to drop off. I recommend this business. The owner was great! The guy who unloaded my van was fast and helpful. The price was reasonable...too much of this stuff goes into the landfills and this business helps makes sure what can be reused gets reused. They also have a room full of vintage items from 1900-about 1960 that is fun to look at...old typewriters, records, cameras, computers. Fun! read more

I took my old tower and an old "boom box" with speakers to this recycling business today. I was greeted by Martin and he lifted it out of my trunk for me. He then demonstrated my hard drive being destroyed as I watched. (small charge for that) Easy in, easy out. Martin was polite and professional. Very impressed! Doug in Willow Glen read more

I ended up taking my e-waste to GreenMouse when the original place we went to wasn't open during their posted business hours. GreenMouse folks were super friendly and we had the added bonus of enjoying their "electronics museum" in the office. What a great walk down memory lane! It's nice to take your e-waste to a place that you feel will recycle it in the "green-est" way possible! I was only charged for the printer ($5) and I didn't mind. I had made several calls trying to donate the printer and found out that due to new California laws no one will take them and there is a huge glut of them out there. read more

They were quick to respond to my request. Picked up my stuff the day they said and left a receipt. Super easy, friendly. Thanks for taking my big tube.. read more

It's a bit of a drive, but we had helpful and prompt assistance. They charged us the lower end of the price scale for the printers; and took our rest of the e-waste for no additional charge. read more

I called and left a message asking to call me back so I could better understand their services. I usually expect a call back within a reasonable time frame. I know that I was lucky in that the stars aligned and I fielded a return call within minutes. The woman (I really should have gotten her name) who called me back was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. During this pandemic time, most businesses give excuses on why they can't do something, but this woman was anything but that. She was positive and cheerful and wanted to ensure that all of my questions were answered. She really carried the company's banner! Job well done! read more

I was a little back and forth with this place because the first time I made an appointment with them, they didnt come during the time I asked them to ... so when they got here, none of my coworkers knew what needed to be taken, and so a few important things were left sitting in the office and we had to wait until we had more stuff to recycle. Luckily, that didn't take very long and I decided to give them a second chance because of the sweet lady on the phone! Those small things really make a difference to me. Anyway, the second time around, the guy who came to pick up was on time, quick, and a total sweetheart as well. a++ I will always, ALWAYS, call green mouse for our recycling needs. read more

Great and friendly service. I dropped off an old satellite dish and it couldn't have been easier. I'm so glad that someone is providing this kind of service. read more

My business, Integra Insurance Services, recently upgraded all of our Dell workstations. After reading the great Yelp reviews about GreenMouse Recycling I decided to check them out. I needed to destroy some hard-drives, recycle monitors, etc. The team at GreenMouse Recycling was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend doing your e-waste recycling with this group in San Jose. 5 stars! read more

They are open as advertised and don't require appointments. They gladly took a bunch of ewaste for free and charged $10 per hard drive I had shredded. The shredding machine es basically a set of giant gears that smash the living daylights out of the hard disk drive. You can hear the machine smashing the drive and also see the results afterwards. There are still intact pieces of the drive platters but they are all 1/4" or smaller. read more

These people don't even know what they take and what they don't without checking their own sign. I called to ask if they could take a DVD player, a VHS player and a TiVo and they said they did. So I drove all the way over there and they would take the TiVo but not the DVD player or VHS player. What's the difference anyway? read more

Always a pleasure to work with. They have a great drop off and recycle process. Staff is friendly. And they give back and do a lot with the community. Highly recommend doing business with GreenMouse read more

I had a great experience with GreenMouse Recycling. After cleaning out my storage closet, I had several old electronics to get rid of. An online search led me to GreenMouse Recycling. The website stated what items could and could not be donated, and I called to ask if I could bring items by without an appointment (like some facilities) and whether someone would be available to help me unload my items. I had the pleasure of speaking with Brianna who said, "Of course." When I arrived, Joel unloaded my 3 old TVs, VCR player and ancient desktop. At my request, he also shredded the hard drive in front of me :-) a service that cost only $10! When I met Brianna, she was just as pleasant in person as she had been on the phone. She processed my $10 payment, and my errand was done. Both Joel and Brianna made the whole process super easy. Thank you, GreenMouse for having great employees! read more

They have good services and took my old TV. The facility is big and staff very friendly. They helped me unload my heavy TV which is super heavy. Will come for all my future e recycling read more

It was great working with the entire GreenMouse team. We were moving offices and they were able to get everything cleaned out.

GreenMouse came out for a hugely successful event. All of the tenants at our office building brought their obsolete e-waste out to the bins they provided and it was gathered and taken away by their professional team. They were very helpful and we will call them for any of our e-waste collection needs. Thanks GreenMouse! read more

Good to know that this place could take so many kinds of e-waste item, But I got confused when their workers still charged me $5 for each hard-disk, even later they handed me a paper listing hard disks as "NO FEE" item. read more

This is my go to place for recycling e-waste. Just dropped off another load of e-waste - old computer peripherals, dead cell phones, other electronic gear. Just drove up, guys came out to help unload, staff courteous and friendly. Quick in and out. Highly recommend. read more

What a wonderful experience! I arrived a few minutes after their closing time and they were still happy to take my old electronics off my hands. The lady at the main desk is so friendly! She noticed I was dropping off an old laptop and asked to be sure I'd removed the hard drive. I was trying to hurry thinking they'd want to close up and go home but they were happily chatting with me asking how I'd heard about them. They clearly enjoy what they do. Highly recommended! read more

Well to start off I want to say how amazing the service is here. I was real hesitant on giving up my grandmas computers because all the sensitive material on the hard drive and i didnt want anything being compromised. Right when I walked in and was immediately approached by Jesse. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions i had and made me feel comfortable with going over how they can discard of that information for me . He called his manager Joel and they both went over the process for me, THANK YOU JESSE AND JOEL ! I will be back ! read more

I still go to Green Mouse, but wanted to leave an update: GMR no longer takes cd cases, cassette tapes, etc. You *can* now get your hard drive shredded there now, though--for no fee if you remove it yourself, $10 to have it removed for you. read more

I recently moved to a new house in San Jose and had many large, empty boxes and techie items I needed to discard. I contacted GreenMouse Recycling to ask for support in picking up for me. They responded to my request quickly, scheduled a time for pick up, and arrived on time. The driver was very friendly and efficient. Awesome company! Awesome customer service! read more

Love this place. Bring computers to recycle here. Only $5/drive to shred hard drives!! Great place-nice people. Bonus: you can see really old cameras and Macs. read more

Came to Greenmouse to dispose ewaste and shred hard drives. All of the employees were very nice and super helpful! What I love about this company is not just the nice employees and connivence of service, but Greenmouse is very philanthropic! I like how the company goes out of their way to do free ewaste drop offs for schools, businesses, etc. Also, Evelyn also told me that the company hires at risk youth. I look forward to utilizing Greenmouse's resources whenever my company is in need of ewaste disposal or hard drive shredding! read more

Had an iMac and laptop that needed to be recycled. Both hard drives were intact so the man helping us had to take apart both devices to retrieve them. He didn't seem to mind that we watched him while he worked, even answering our random questions about electronic recycling. He even demoed the shredder with our hard drives. There was a fee for our service but I didn't mind, just glad to know that our information isn't floating around somewhere. read more

Super nice people, clean environment, easy access and very helpful. I brought in a 300 pound Sony TV and they unloaded it for me, no extra help from me or charges. Cool little museum of old electronics. They also took my old laptop, removed the hard drive and crushed it in a special device before my eyes for an extra $5, well worth it for the peace of mind. read more

Actually got a friendly person on the phone when I called with questions about site hours (normally, it's just a machine). Dropped off 4 monitors and 2 towers with no hassle. The person met me in the front and helped me unload, then it was onto a quick sign off and I was done. Very efficient and friendly experience. read more

You can drop off your electronics, appliances or DVDs/CDs there for free recycling (they are subsidized by the government). Nice people and a good way to avoid just dumping stuff to the trash. read more

They make it so easy! Convenient location, friendly professional staff and they accept a very wide variety of eWaste. First time I pulled up with a whole SUV load of electronics (stereos, speakers, appliances, computer towers, phones... you name it) and was greeting immediately by a very friendly guy who wheeled out the carts and took it all off my hands. In and out within a few minutes. You do have so get your info recorded if you are recycling anything with a screen (laptop, monitor, etc.) but that is super easy too. I've already taken three trips as I discover more and more eWaste lying around my house and every time has been the same great experience. They make the whole eWaste recycling process easier than dumping it and that is exactly how a recycling business should be run. I have no reservations with highly recommending Greenmouse Recycling for all your eWaste recycling needs where you can have confidence that its not just going to end up in a landfill somewhere in China. read more

Great service. Called them on Monday to schedule a pickup for an old CRT TV, the guy showed up on time and was very courteous. Best of all? This is all Free. Five start service! read more
