I am disappointed with their policy. I needed a remote replacement. I was advised I would have to…read morepay over $400.00 for a full inspection then the price of the remote. I am a repeat customer and was told there was nothing else that could be offered to me. I Paid for a full inspection 2023 or 2024 and the year before had an inspection as well. I was told it's not needed every year unless there are problems. But their policy now is of such if they touch my insert, even removing the glass to hit a reset button for the remote they would have to do a full inspection. So total Cost would be close to $600.00 when all that is needed is a remote. I did find a company to Come and handle the remote only but I would have rather stayed with Fireplace Tech. Disappointed

Need to be careful about this. I picked Darren because he's local. Previous owners somehow screwed up the functionality of my fireplace. They tore some things out so when I do have a fire, usually duraflame, some of the smoke leaks out into the room. Darren diagnosed the problem and did a custom fix, installed a smoke guard, chain screen protector; did a great job, doesn't leak anymore. Great service, good price; also an honest chimney sweep, he looked at the chimney said it doesn't need cleaning. Highly recommend.

They were quick and efficient and they left everything clean. They did a great job. They explained what they did and what they saw that might need work And at that point, they walked out the door with a five star review. Here's where it gets dicey. When they came, my flue was open. Being widowed I've learned to make fires but I have never opened or shut the flue. It was open when they got there and when they left the last thing they said was "OK now you can make a fire". But they didn't tell me that they had shut the flue or damper. I didn't know it was a thing until I made a fire and my house filled up with smoke. Opening all the doors and windows didn't work. The fire alarm kept going off. I couldn't make it stop. I shut the glass on the fireplace. Ended up having to call the fire department. I had to get my cats and throw them out in the rain and wait outside. The fire dept confirmed the flue was closed. They opened it and they brought in big fans to air the smoke out of my house. It's still smell smoky. The worst thing is this was super traumatic for me. I didn't know why the house was smoky I didn't know what to do. I didn't have my husband or anyone to help and I was panicked. It was a really horrible experience except for the hot firefighters lol. Based on that they would get zero stars so I gave them 2

After reviewing the damage, Marvin indicated that it could be rebuilt and upgraded. After securing all necessary parts, Marvin and his associate completely rebuilt and upgraded the fireplace.
