And so talented too! My husband and I shopped around so much for a place we could trust and would provide quality kitchen cabinetry. Think big box retails and even smaller, independent places. But nothing left us truly feeling like we could trust them, especially as quality overall has really gone down when it comes to goods. The kitchen aspect was a headache and the hardest part of our home renovation process. We wanted something that would last us because regardless of where you go & whether it's custom or not, it is an investment. And man, does Fernando's sure provide wonderful high end custom cabinets at a reasonable price. They were actually recommended to us by two separate contractors/friends so we knew we had to check them out. Their family has been in the business for DECADES and you can truly see it in the craftsmanship of what they deliver. We were on a budget and I really do think that for the service and quality they are fair priced. I felt so much relief working with them. Gabriel worked with us to help us select everything from the kitchen design, cabinet styles, colors, wood type and hardware. The cabinets honestly came out better than what I had on my Pinterest boards haha. Cabinets are well made and feel very durable. They have very competitive pricing and believe they are the best option. We were in talks with Home Depot and a few smaller providers but felt like there was a disconnect between our rep and the manufacturer. Oftentimes, we were sold "real wood" only to find medium density fiber (similar to Ikea but at a premium). I had no concerns at Fernando's. Fernando's has the front office, manufacturing, and installation all under one roof. If you're time poor, want quality, and want on time delivery, go with Fernando's. Definitely not something I want to gate keep as I'll be returning for a future reno (I'm sure).

Really great resource for tile and stone needs!…read more We visited here after looking at backsplash tile options in home Depot nearby, which had about one aisle of tile and stone to pick from for kitchen purposes. However, here at LA tile and Stone, they were aisles upon aisles of different kinds of stone and ceramic and porcelain tiles and more. It was great to see the displays on the walls for special orders, and the tiles and stones in boxes for those that are in stock already. There are so many options with outdoor tiling and indoor tiling options, and also some installed and showcase pieces like tub tiling. Each type was clearly marked on which brand or country they were from, and also what sizes or colors that the tile pattern came in, which was helpful. We quickly were able to find several options for our kitchen backsplash project. They offered a referral service in case we needed to have a tile install service. A couple days later I finally decided on which tile to use, and gave them a call to place an order. To make sure that we had our order correct, the lady told me to text her a photo of the tiles that I had taken. She also explained that with the number of tiles that were in each box I would have to buy a certain number of boxes to cover my project. The invoice was sent, and the tiles were ready when promised, only a couple days after I had made the text order. Great experience and would totally use LA tile and stone again for inspiration or for our next project!

Frank's Building Materials and Villanueva Cabinetry Workshop where they make and stain basic pine kitchen and bathroom cabinets to order. Building supplies include typical 60 and 90 pound sacks of cement and concrete, sand and gravel by the scoop, cement board, rebar, cinder blocks, nails, screws, bolts, brooms, et cetera. They deliver to the local area, they've delivered big orders for me to projects in City Terrace, Monterey Park and Lincoln Heights. When I pick up materials in my car, or truck they always load everything for me. Their prices are similar to big retailers like Home Depot, but much more convenient service. They will run around the store and find whatever you need while you wait at the counter. Villanueva Hardware a mile west at 3516 E Cesar E Chavez Ave is a bit smaller. I believe they have three additional locations but I haven't visited those. Frank's Building Supplies might smell a bit like oregano, because fifty years ago the building was the home of a Mexican spice distributor. I shopped there even then!

To our surprise he was ready and equipped to replace the window on the same visit. The window that needed to be replaced was in a classroom where a teacher was conducting her zoom class. Javier was very professional and worked quietly as to not to disturb the teaching session. Before we knew it, the window was replaced, he cleaned up and was on his way. But the real value came from the technical expertise. I was on the fence about using Sherwin-Williams silicone coating until I learned the details: standard paint store products often rely on water-based primers and solvent-heavy coatings (only ~60% silicone) that lose thickness as they cure. Mule-Hide's product is a true 100% pure silicone topcoat paired with a heavy-duty solvent primer and 100% pure silicone brushable mastic. ​The System & Performance: We laid down the primer, reinforced every seam with polyester tape to create a monolithic membrane, sealed all skylights, vents, and pipes with the thick mastic, and rolled on the silicone topcoat. It cured thick and solid within 36 hours. The heat reflection downstairs in my space is already noticeably better during our hot LA weather. ​Logistics & Service: Hauling 40 buckets of silicone and 25 pails of primer up a ladder would have been a nightmare.
