The largest selection of natural and man-made slabs in all of California. They have a wide selection of marble, quartzite, onyx, travertine, granite and porcelain slabs to choose from. Certainly lives up to its reputation of carrying the the most unique, if not the rarest inventory of natural stones and porcelain slabs in town. Dynamic team to cater to customer needs and keen on customer satisfaction. Open weekdays Mon-Fri 8am to 430pm and Sat 9am to 2pm. Walk-ins are welcome. No need for an appointment. Front and rear parking is available.

Me and my girlfriend have been on the hunt for the perfect slab for our accent wall. We've been to many different shops until we finally stumbled upon Royal Stone. We fell in love with this marbled grey porcelain slab that matched what we envisioned. We ended up picking up 4 slabs to build the wall. My contractor helped pick it up, and upon arriving home, he found a crack dead center on one of the slabs. It most likely got damaged when the workers were loading the slabs onto the truck. They were gripping multiple slabs at a time so there must've been tremendous pressure given how heavy they are. I gave Rodney a call and he was more than willing to amend this. We ended up working around the damage and didn't need a replacement. Nonetheless, I really appreciated him giving us peace of mind that this would be resolved. I would recommend anyone looking for slabs to come check this place out. We are very happy with how our project came out.

I felt compelled to write this review to share our experience that started off well, but took a turn for the worse. We were quoted a cost for a tile we wanted for our accent wall in our master bathroom and then we're told it's on back order and that we should check in monthly till it arrives. After 3 months of check ins, we were told it was in stock and immediately went to place the order. The tile was now $50/ piece more expensive. I talked with the owner asking if he could meet us half way on the tile to match the previously quoted price, being reasonable and understanding that the cost have changed due to COVID supply shortages. After a little back and forth he agreed to meet us half way and discount a little further getting us closer to that original price. We were then told we'd get a call when the order was ready. Someone called a few days later and told us that 7 out of 8 tiles we ordered were ready for pickup. I told them we'd come when all of them were in stock. I received a call later that day and was told they are all ready for pickup, which seemed odd, but was glad to hear it. I had my wife go pick them up while I was working and one of the tiles was extremely dirty and ended up being one of their floor models they were using. Jacob the owner assured my wife and her mother who went to pick them up at the store that it was just dirt and it would come off "so don't worry about it". My wife asked them to open the box to check the 7 tiles to make sure they were in good condition and started cleaning the dirty tile to ensure it was good considering we paid over $3600 for the 8 pieces. Immediately Jacob became defensive and told her that we didn't need to open the box and that she should trust him he was also visibly upset that she was cleaning the dirty tile to make sure it was fine. My wife found clear imperfections and scratches in the center of the floor model tile piece. Other workers in the store agreed that it was damaged but Jacob took a nasty tone and started yelling at her "you'd need a magnifying glass to see that" and that it's nothing. She said she shouldn't accept a damaged piece since we purchased and paid for new tiles. He continued to raise his voice to her and her mother, calling her crazy, saying she was being too picky and even yelled asking her "do you think I'm a dog? I can't see anything!" He was trying everything to get her to accept less than perfect goods without any remorse. He even told her "all natural stones have imperfections" but this wasn't even natural stone we purchased. She refused to sign for the order until she called me and had my input. The nerve of this guy telling her "oh ok, if that's how you want to start off your relationship with him" trying to make her feel bad for what she was doing, implying she would be bothering me by calling. I regret sharing any of our personal life details with him as he was courting us in the store the first time we came in to look at tile together for our newly purchased home that we're starting a life together in. Absolutely despicable move on his part. Once I told him to issue me a full refund and keep all his tiles, he went and found another damaged similar piece that we could use in case we needed to cut and augment the other damaged piece he tried passing off on us and he included it at no charge. Still TBD If it will work for us when the contractor has to figure out how to make the best of 2 damaged tiles instead of 1 perfect one. In the end, he was able to make it *somewhat* right but I'm absolutely disgusted by how he yelled at and pressured my wife and her mother. Maybe he didn't think he had to treat my wife and her mother with the same respect because I wasn't present, or maybe he was just having a bad day but, I can darn sure tell you he's lost any/all future business from us for our home remodel over his poor business practice and blatant disrespect for his customer. I urge everyone to keep their guard up and check everything you purchase before signing if you choose to do business with Royal Tile and Stone. Make sure you're getting what you pay for and don't let him pressure you to accept anything less

I'm quite surprised by all of the positive reviews. First of all, the customer service is very poor. I walked in and nobody asked if I needed help. The guy who I presume is the owner was very cold and unwelcoming. When I found the one other worker on the floor to show me some tiles, the owner told him to go grab tiles for someone else. Great, thanks. I've gone to about 5 tiles places now, and Royal Stone has one of the smallest selections and definitely the worst display. The prices are in the mid-to-high range as well. If you can get to Gardena, I recommend checking out Tile & Marble Galaxy.

1.12.11 Went back to Royal Stone to pay for my granite and reserve 3 pieces. Good thing I came back! They had sold all the other pieces of the type I picked. I noticed that the colors were somewhat darker on the other pieces. David told me that it's because when the granite comes out of the ground, it's still wet. The piece I picked had been sitting in the sun and had dried out, so it was a lighter color. David said I can leave the granite in his yard as long as I want, before shipping it down to Carlsbad. He'll make sure it stays out in the sun so the three pieces are the same color. 5 stars merited! Everything about this store, the staff, the choices, gets 5 stars. It's not a very big yard but they have an excellent variety.

(Not BB, but yall remember that place.) As the daughter of a professional tradesman, I know more than average about what I'm looking for in hardware. And Rudy was also helpful with a smile and without any of the attitude about helping a lady look for a special piece of hardware. I was a little sad when that old lumber yard place closed, mostly because Rudy. Now, I'd also go over to Bourget bros for garden rocks and the occasional drill bit. And yall could not imagine how delighted I was that BB had the wisdom to hire Rudy! I think higher of the whole establishment in general because of it. Our fella Rudy is working in the paint department and two weeks ago he helped me make some duplicate keys I needed. He's still being awesome. If you need paint or key or anything in Rudy's department, do yourself a favor and see this gem of a human. I snapped a lil pic to show my husband that Rudy is helping me. (I hope that cool with R.) I just think he's a hardworking, nice fella and I'm happy he's still working nearby. In my mind he's part of all the little things I like about living in SM. Although hidden behind several businesses along Pico Blvd. and wedged between a back road (south Wellesley Ave.) and the Santa Monica freeway, House of Hardwood endures and am glad that they remain in the same community. House of Hardwood is a fine place to get quality lumber with one-on-one service that is lacking at big-box businesses. The sales people are not only helpful, but knowledgeable too, they know wood. I initially went to the scrap bin looking for a large slab of maple, but could not find a suitable slab, so I asked a salesman for some help. Out of the available options, it was suggested that I opt for cherry. Because they sell lumber by board/linear feet, I had to buy more lumber than I needed, but this is where some improvement in the options and service, is suggested. Option 1) To buy the minimum length of lumber to get the project done, but if a customer only needs 9.25 feet of lumber, they would need to pay for 10 feet, but have the employee cut 9.25 feet of the required lumber, so the customer gets what they need, even though they paid for more; this prevents waste. This option may be illegal, because the business would be providing the customer with less product (lumber) than they paid for, but the customer should be able to sign a waiver indicating that they are willingly accepting less product than they paid for. Option 2) To buy the minimum length of lumber to get the project done, but to initially cut 10 feet of lumber, then make a second cut to remove nine inches and give both pieces of lumber to the customer (what should have happened in my case). Option 3) To buy the minimum length of lumber to get the project done, but to initially cut 10 feet of lumber, then make a second cut to remove nine inches and offer to buy the excess lumber from the customer to re-sell in the scrap bin. When I paid for the lumber with cash, the salesman offered to accept the actual price of the lumber without (or including) sales tax, which in Los Angeles is 9.75%, amounting to a significant and much appreciated savings (I would pay in cash whenever I could, perhaps for purchases under $500)! Overall, I am pleased with the product and service, but the dialog (and options) between customers and salespeople needs to improve.
