I expected to feel stressed and overwhelmed when I walked in but I felt zero pressure and was able to walk around and ask questions as need be. Just tell them what you want or what you are thinking of doing and they will help. Bringing photos of what you are thinking of will help them direct you. I went back in several times to buy grout and sealer - it was always a friendly and patient experience - even the guy who brought the tile boxes to our car in the parking lot. I haven't bought tile from them or had any experience with their sales staff but I stopped in today and I bought a box of grout. It was the most expensive grout Iv ever bought. I really paid for that convenience of not having to drive to my regular tile supply location. I just think you should be competitive with the basics like thinset, grout and other installation materials. My first impression wasn't too keen and the mark up was almost $20 above everywhere else Iv ever bought grout from. I asked if there was a contractor discount and the older gentleman said no. He explained he doesn't sell like Home Depot. My experience will definitely not encourage me to refer clients to them. I encourage readers to go to Mission Tile West. Great showroom for tile but you can find the same stuff anywhere, less choices for countertops, and the staff is hardly informative nor helpful. It appears only one person helps most people and his name is Jon and I will say he's knows his product and has rather decent taste. I purchased a a countertop slab which I still have yet to told what brand. All I know it's quartz. Even the invoice doesn't stipulate the brand/producer. My initial order was for a specific glass tile and a specific quantity. I wasn't given an invoice for the tile (may have been an oversight as I did receive an invoice for the countertop.) Not only did they charge me for freight/shipping, which was never mentioned, but I also noticed they increased my tile order by 10.5 and on the invoice listed a restocking fee of any returned tile. I am now aware to look for that and caught another company using the same tactic. Further, after returning the tile and assuring the store that I won't ever shop there again, the "branch manager" sends me an email "closing my account." What account? I purchased two items and paid immediately the full amounts which one order had defective chips in the glass tile, hence the return. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the slab yet as the installer they recommended picked up the slab and at a cost (not what they originally stated either.) The whole transaction feels slippery. These remodels are an investment and it's better to choose people you can trust. Therefore, I want to highly recommend, Cosmos, Westside Tile (check quantity), pricey Mission Tile (Santa Monica) , Competive Mission Tile (Pasadena) and Imperial in North Hollywood. read more

Great selection and well laid out store - it's easy to get overwhelmed in some flooring places but not here - it's a breath of fresh air with easy customer parking in the back - they have a great selection, categorized in a simple way. Flooring is displayed in a manner, so you can see how it would look (I'm a visual person so that is great) and flooring was also easy to touch and feel. I found Jonathon very helpful, knowledgeable and patient as I debated my flooring options - no car salesman tactics here - Jonathon helped me to find a solution that fit with my requirements -he is a very pleasant and quiet-mannered person - he managed to get my tile delivered within 24 hours - got lucky I guess - normally takes from 4 to 7 days. In this day and age it's inconceivable that a merchant could treat customers with such blatant rudeness and discourtesy as was demonstrated at Classic Tile and Flooring. I purchased a plastic quart bottle of a floor treatment that I didn't need and brought it back to the store. I was told that merchandise "from the warehouse" is non-refundable and also that their "system" is equipped for credit card refunds--a shameless lie! I can understand that if I purchased files or flooring or something that needed re-stocking. This wasn't the case. All he had to do was simply put the bottle back on a display shelf. The owner, who wouldn't give me his name--a fat, balding guy with bulging eyes--pulled the card out of my hand and swiped the card for a refund and told me never to patronize the store again--as if I ever would! For any business to treat customers in such a negative, hostile manner makes no sense. I guess he doesn't care about repeat business or jeopardizing his reputation. My advice is to avoid this place like the plague. read more

I received excellent customer service as well as designer advice from both Bruce and Jon. There was no hard sell, just great inventory of the best tiles I saw there, as well as at far more expensive stores. No haggling needed, they just offer a terrific discounted price to their customers. At first I was going to have a significant number of A.K.D.O. staggered glass tiles, but due to an issue with my countertop, I ended up with conventional backsplash and a smaller number of decorative tiles. I got just as good service, even when my order shrunk as when the estimate was much larger. In fact, they did everything they could to expedite my order to meet my installer's tight schedule. Everyone who answered the phone, got the order to my car, etc. was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful and polite. read more

I shopped all over LA and the Valley for tile to remodel my bathroom. While, Classic Tile's prices seemed a little higher, in the end I felt it was well worth the extra cost for the excellent service and product knowledge Jon provided. At the other tile stores I visited, it was very difficult to get my questions answered and I was often pushed onto sales associates who had no knowledge of their products. I found their showroom well organized with a large selection of the most up to date tiles. It made it very easy to pull together a total look as I explored my options. BUYERS AND CONTRACTORS BEWARE! DO NOT GO TO CLASSIC TILE & FLOORING! I first want to tell everyone that the owner Bruce is extremely unprofessional and has no idea what he doing. Bruce was constantly bad mouthing our contractor and truly could not accomodate us as buyers. We bought 5 boxes of marble tiles and one box was an entirely different marble. We came back to him and asked him to give us another box of the matching tiles and he said that the tiles have variances in marbling and there is nothing wrong with them. The variation in color, design, pattern, thickness, slab and quaility were obvious. He told us he wasn't going to order anymore for us. We also purchased 6 boxes of marble tiles for a different area of our house and we had to order a 7th box because we were short. We went back 3 times for this one last box because the marble he kept giving us was completely different from our original tiles that we purchased. Once again Bruce failed at accomodating us and being able to do a simple task of ordering the same mathcing tiles to finish our job. We ended up going to Dal Tile to purchase the additonal marble tiles that we needed and they came through fabulously. After purchasing from Dal Tile we were shocked at the price difference for the exact same product! CLASSIC TILE CHARGED US $13.30/TILE AND DAL TILE CHARGED US $4.40/TILE! Contractors and buyers...do yourself a favor, stay away from classic tile...save time and money and go to another place for your flooring. read more
