Eder was our PM and the crew was Mario, Jesus, and Tito. They did a great job. Right from the start, Eder did an evaluation on our 100 year old house and as best he could, described what he may find as issues and offered suggestions to mitigate them. He continued to communicate effectively throughout the project and was able to overcome almost all the issues the project presented. We ended up with a great product. The crew was friendly and they took great care to protect the rest of the house and our outdoor landscaping. Highly recommend this company. read more

I only contacted them for an estimate on a repair I needed done on my property. They didn't confirm the appointment, and the contractor showed up at 7:30 AM for an appointment between 12-2. I explicitly outlined what I needed done and the gentleman was in other rooms that I didn't ask for and gave us an estimate 3 times what everyone else was offering. It was an inconvenience and a poor experience and we will definitely be using someone else who knows the value of communication and listening to what the customer is asking for. read more

I found sequoia flooring and yelp and have been impressed throughout the entire process! We used them to refinish natural wood floors and replace mismatched flooring in other parts of the house. Their quote was on par with other quotes but their customer service was excellent which set them apart from the rest. Our point person Steven was a great communicator and quick to get things done. When there was an issue with the floor stain he went above and beyond to fix the issue in a timely manor and make sure we were happy with the end result. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone. read more

I recently used Sequoia Flooring to fix and refinish hardwood floor of rental unit. Eder is main contact and he is very Knowledgeable about various hardwood products and give honest information upfront. The rate quote is fair. After the work was complete. I had a house cleaner to clean the kitchen and accidentally damage a portion of newly refinished hardwood floor with cleaning agent. Eder went above and beyond and brought me small bottle of the finish paint so that i can do an easy fix and it worked out well in the end. The crew also friendly and hardworking. I will contact them again should i need to do another floor project. read more

Gabby and Kevin are the best. Edder was very knowledgeable about all types of hardwood flooring so that I could make the right decision for my home and budget. I've worked with Sequoia on two separate projects in a 1940s apartment building, and have had stellar experiences both times. The first was a straightforward floor refinish, which was handled with such care and precision that I wanted to hire the company again as soon as I was ready to tackle a bigger project. This summer, I worked with Eder and his crew to install new high quality laminate flooring throughout an apartment unit. The job also required leveling the existing floor as well as installing all new baseboards. I was so thrilled with how it turned out, and I value working with a team that is so professional and conscientious. Any renovation work can be stressful, but I felt like I was in such good hands with this crew from Sequoia. I would work with them again in a heartbeat! read more

Estimator turned down my engineered flooring install job because my 1928 house living room floor was not level. I told him if he tried to level my subfloor that that would raise the door thresholds just over an inch too high going out the doors. I suggested the best we could try for is flat subflooring if slightly out of level. I asked him to quote for flattening the subfloor but he only gave me TWO options, either they install the 10k worth of wood without doing anything to the wonky subfloors ?? OR I pay to level everything above the thresholds. I makes no sense but apparently they don't flatten! If you have an old house like I do, I would look elsewhere. read more

I can't praise Josef and his team enough for their excellent quality service. They are flexible, competitive in price, and efficient. Based on my experience, this company is the epitome of excellence, great customer service, and among the fairest of pricing for quality work. Brian was my project liaison and Carlos and Juan were the flooring installers and these 3 gentlemen are ROCKSTARS! Not only were they very knowledgeable but their pride in their workmanship was a pleasure to behold. Their recommendations, integrity, work ethic, proactive communications, cleanliness, Covid-19 safety measure compliance, and more are all phenomenal and I strongly recommend this company and these gentlemen if you are in the market for quality flooring. I had engineered natural oak hardwood flooring installed in my master bedroom which already had an entryway in place with similar flooring. Brian matched up the new installation material for the remainder of the room with a perfect alternative and Juan and Carlos installed the new flooring and baseboards with seamless precision. These gentlemen take pride in their craft and are stellar professionals and I am throughly pleased with them and my new flooring. "Great job guys!" read more

Our new floors are officially the favorite part of our new home. We recently bought our first home and knew walking in that while the bones were great, e needed to get this 1920s spanish beauty back to her self. Which first meant ripping out the terrible flipper grey laminate flooring. We got quotes from a handful of companies, and while sequoia were not the cheapest, they were the only people to see what we were up against before starting. Steven came in for a consultation, checked a few spots and came back with the news - yes we can replace all of this. But whoever did the flip laid the laminate on tile in the kitchen and didn't level the floors. To do the job well and prevent the warping and soft spots that had plagued the grey flooring before it, we'd need to double our budget for some serious leveling. They could have just done the job, but instead they brought their expertise and wow - the result is fantastic. The guys hustled, worked around our crazy moving schedule (and termite tenting which was a nightmare) and finished up as we were moving in. Would highly recommend, from the showroom to the crew this was a great experience. read more

We have a house built in 1912 and the floors had carpet when we moved in, likely because they were so uneven nothing else could be done. Steven and his crew did a great job of adding a level subfloor in the correct way (I can't tell you how many ppl told us they'd just pour leveling concrete on a raised foundation- huge mistake). They installed luxury vinyl flooring and we've had so many compliments! Plus, we eventually decided to do the staircase and had Steven come back for a less than week job. They weren't the cheapest estimate, but they are the company that does it right! read more

My entire experience with Sequoia Flooring was a positive experience. This includes the initial scheduling of a complimentary onsite estimate to the completion of work. For context, we have a house with original hardwood floors dating back to 1914. We needed to fix our flooring as quickly as possible so that we could rent out our house. Sarah handled our scheduling. Unfortunately, we had to reschedule a few times and she was very gracious about it. Our project manager, Kevin was great to work with. He was polite and professional. We initially requested an estimate for floor refinishing and realized that an installation of floating laminate flooring would be better for our circumstances. It gave us a way to preserve our original flooring while providing a durable and low-maintenance floor for our renters. He gave us a decent installation estimate that was in line with other companies. We selected flooring with his help and he quickly purchased the materials and scheduled the installation within a few days. He always made himself available via text throughout the process and was very responsive. We ultimately decided to work with Sequoia because Kevin was not a pushy salesperson who was happy to answer all of our questions and remained that way after receiving our money. I've had many less-than-satisfactory experiences dealing with subcontractor project managers ranging from HVAC, millwork, and gate fabrication. They tend not to be present or helpful after they get the job. This was not the case with Kevin. There were some misunderstandings once the installation commenced, but we were able to resolve them. The team that did the actual installation consisted of the foreman, Juan, and his crewmate Manny. They were nice guys and seemed to have several years of good flooring experience between them. They did a great job installing the floors. Laminate planks if not mixed properly can look very repetitive if the installers don't know what they are doing. They completed the 300+ square feet within the same day and stuck around to help us resolve some other issues. They were very nice and patient throughout. I recommend everyone I worked with at Sequoia! read more

Outstanding... there is no other word I can use for the quality, knowledge, professionalism and customer service of Sequoia Flooring. I had them do a bedroom floor last year and loved the quality and craftsmanship they showed on the project. I am extremely particular on things being done perfectly and they didn't disappoint. So when it was time to do the main rooms of the house (1700 sq ft) there was only one person I wanted to talk to... Dennis from Sequoia. I trusted his guidance in helping me decide on the right floor. In addition, when the project was started, there were unexpected problems with the floor. Dennis worked with me to come up with an affordable solution to fix the problem without jeopardizing the perfection of the final product. And lastly, the details. I can't say enough on how they make sure it is perfect. From baseboards to going around the stone fireplace, it is done with precision. So by now I think you have an idea on how I feel about the company. Don't make a mistake and go to someone else. Their pricing is fair and their quality unmatched. read more

Sequoia Flooring is exceptional ! They have an excellent showroom, high quality products , and a knowledgeable staff. Seven years after they installed new flooring into our condo, the floor looks brand new. The project was completed in short time; no issues whatsoever. Last week we discovered that gaps appeared between several floor panels in a room where the flooring had been done by a different company. We contacted Sequoia and their expert installer came out quickly, fixed the issue efficiently and at a competitive price. Working with the knowledgeable, thoughtful, honest, professionals at Sequioa Flooring is the best ! We would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who wants a high-quality job done. read more

This review is far over due as we had Sequioa Flooring refinish our floors back in June. They refinished 1600 sq ft of combination of 1950s, 90s and laminate as well as an additional 1000 sq ft of newer wood that showed a lot of wear. We wanted everything to look consistent and new and that is exactly what we got! We are so happy with the quality of the work and the professionalism and responsiveness of the crew led by Steven. They replaced all the weird and inconsistent 90s wood in our primary bedroom and made it match the wood in the rest of the house. We chose the stain that we liked the most and are so thrilled with result. The team was so responsible locking up the house each day after they were done, and every one of them was just a great person to interact with. Now, four months later, it brings us such joy to come home and see our floors. Prices were very competitive and the quality of work was outstanding. Steven especially was on top of everything and in regular communication throughout the entire project. HIGHLY recommend!! read more

If you need your floors redone at the speed of light with incredible attention to detail and fair prices, you can stop the search right here because you've found it. We were in the middle of a HORRIBLE nightmare of a renovation with a different company that charged crazy prices and worked maybe 3x in the first month we had them for. While doing no work, they kept trying to upsell us on more services including the floors which they charged an exorbitant amount to do. Something told us to shop around for floors instead of using them and that's how we found Sequoia. After a few Yelp messages they were at our home a day or two later to take measurements. Brian the project manager was lovely to work with, his honesty was refreshing and he came with samples, ready to put his boys to work. Brian's calm demeanor and lack of salesman-ish vibe made him a regular hard working person that we felt comfortable with immediately and signed the fair price contract the day we met him. Brian's crew (all really polite gentlemen who respected our home, cleaned after every session and asked if we wanted some stray boxes and garbage removed that the other company left behind) came on a Wednesday, worked their asses off and finished on a Saturday morning, leaving us with extra flooring and baseboards in case we needed it for the rest of the work the other company had left to do. Renovation projects can be a NIGHTMARE. Not with Sequoia. Easiest and most seamless project ever. These are absolutely the guys to go with for your flooring needs. read more

I would recommend Sequoia flooring to anyone and everyone. We had a horrible experience with another flooring company who destroyed our floors and surrounding surfaces. They were done so badly that they couldn't even be sanded again. We were understandably terrified to have another flooring company come into our home. We interviewed many flooring companies and contractors and we decided to go with Sequoia. Dennis instilled a sense of security in us from the very first visit. The company is a joy to deal with and their pricing is extremely fair. Every member of the crew was courteous and put extreme effort into the quality of their work. I can't say enough good things about Sequoia flooring and the whole team there. We had a pretty large job, requiring 2,000 square feet of engineered hardwood. From the first visit to the store where we picked out the material, to the in-home estimate, all the way to the completion of the project, Steven was super helpful in answering our questions and making sure we were happy with the results. The job was even finished ahead of schedule, and we're incredibly pleased with the results. We had Sequoia Flooring sand and refinish our bamboo floors and we're very happy with the results. Steven was incredibly knowledgeable and provided great advice thought the process, which we appreciated as this was our first major project in our new home. Even when a neighbor complained to us about the team leaving common areas of our building dirty, Steven was incredibly apologetic and personally came to rectify the situation, cleaning much more than his team could have even been responsible for. I cannot say enough great things about this company! Every aspect of the job from the initial phone call to the completed floorings was wonderful. He was very patient and accommodating while I had to keep postponing the job due to the other work I was having done at my house. Juan and his crew showed up on time every day and did a meticulous job installing the flooring! Great workmanship and great personalities from them all. We received bids from several companies to have the 1100 sq ft of oak flooring refinished in our home. Dennis, the Sequoia sales rep, was the only person to say that our floors were in good shape and that they would look fabulous with just a clear finish, no stain. The quote was very reasonable, and the crew were fantastic! They did all the edges by hand, and also custom made a piece of oak that was a lip into our kitchen as the old one was damaged. Can you say honest & trustworthy?! I wanted to install laminate flooring in a sunroom and first had another installer come out for an estimate. When the installer came, he indicated that the floor would need to be prepped first since it was uneven. I subsequently received an estimate, which didn't include floor prep, to move the project forward. I was not confident with this installer, so I found Sequoia Flooring on yelp and started the process with them. This morning Dennis came out to give me an estimate and indicated that laminate/vinyl flooring is not an option for our sunroom for a variety of reasons: the existing concrete could be leveled, but the room is not insulated, so the constant change in temperature would not be good for the floor; there is a lot of moisture that comes through the concrete that would give us problems down the road, etc. He was completely upfront and honest, even though it meant them giving up my business. Which, I must say, I was totally ready to get started. He also mentioned that he would not recommend carpet because we would have the same issues and the moisture under the carpet could lead to mold!! Dennis recommended we go with porcelain tile, which they don't sell--so, he recommended another provider. You just don't get more honest than this!!! Thank you Dennis for saving me from future cost and aggravation. read more

Brian and the team at Sequoia Flooring are true professionals. I had a horrendous experience with a different flooring company and ended up needing everything reinstalled in about a year and a half. Brian, my project manager, was courteous, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. He's also quick to respond to texts, emails, and calls, which was very comforting, and an example of their fantastic customer service. The installation side of things went just as smoothly. Carlos and the other installers were clean and efficient (covered furniture, vacuumed inside and outside), but more importantly, they are VERY experienced and take pride in their work. Carlos even fixed an area at my door that other companies either didn't know how to fix, or didn't even want to attempt. Thank you Brian, Carlos, and everyone else at Sequoia Flooring for such great work. I couldn't be happier with the floor! We had a leak in a hot water pipe under our kitchen flooring that caused a few boards to warp.
