Really great resource for tile and stone needs! We visited here after looking at backsplash tile options in home Depot nearby, which had about one aisle of tile and stone to pick from for kitchen purposes. However, here at LA tile and Stone, they were aisles upon aisles of different kinds of stone and ceramic and porcelain tiles and more. It was great to see the displays on the walls for special orders, and the tiles and stones in boxes for those that are in stock already. There are so many options with outdoor tiling and indoor tiling options, and also some installed and showcase pieces like tub tiling. Each type was clearly marked on which brand or country they were from, and also what sizes or colors that the tile pattern came in, which was helpful. We quickly were able to find several options for our kitchen backsplash project. They offered a referral service in case we needed to have a tile install service. A couple days later I finally decided on which tile to use, and gave them a call to place an order. To make sure that we had our order correct, the lady told me to text her a photo of the tiles that I had taken. She also explained that with the number of tiles that were in each box I would have to buy a certain number of boxes to cover my project. The invoice was sent, and the tiles were ready when promised, only a couple days after I had made the text order. Dishonest! I bought a huge load of items from here for a re-tiling project. One of the sales associates recommended a tile glue for one particular corner of our bathroom. Our tile installer took one look at the package and said it's no good and not necessary. When I went to return it the next day, the woman at the counter said the item is non-refundable. The kit was never opened, taped seal was never opened and in a brand new condition. There's a sign by the register that indicates "no return on special order items." This tube of glue was not a special order. Nowhere or at no point was that mentioned during the purchase. I hate places like this. I purposely purchased from them because I want to support smaller businesses. I could have gone to Home Depot next door and purchased everything for 10-20% less, but they, in turn, do nothing to provide customers with care. They lost a valuable customer because of that silly glue. I will never shop here again. read more

Looking for tile when you are in a time crunch is stressful, but I'm so glad I L.A. Tile and Stone. Not only are they open on Sundays, but they have basic tile in stock! I was looking for black hexagons and was able to find what I wanted and take it home the same day. Prices are competitive with other tile distributors, and the staff is helpful as well. It is right next to a Home Depot, and they have a very very small parking lot. We ended up parking at Home Depot and then driving up to load the tile. read more

When I called the store they told me it was special order therefore no returns. Then they claimed the "girl" told me it was variable. Not true. Great store and great service. Was shopping around and went to Daltile in the valley. Nice folks but they would custom order my pattern and deliver in 8 weeks! LA tile had a great selection, great price, and would have in 2 days! Also went to a few stores in Beverly Hills before checking here. They had the Exact same tiles on display for about 40% more, so LA tile is a great deal too. Lastly, I'm not a designer or tile expert, but the sales person i worked with was super helpful. Dishonest!! They give you a credit to their store and then never honor it! They say the owner is not available. Been dealing with this for almost a year. I was even willing to buy more material and have them apply my credit towards it (and spend thousands more) but they don't honor the credit. No call back and ignore customer calls. I love this place! I had to come in with my toddler several times and the ladies were super helpful and patient with me. I ended up buying tile for my entire house, both bathrooms, kitchen, and fireplace here as well as my countertop and island slab. I'm a contractor and this is my favorite place to get materials. I like it so much that I wish I did more tile jobs, so that I could come here more than I do. There's sometimes a clique-y, old-boys' club thing at a lot of lumber yards and supply houses. For real: go to Ganahl lumber looking like a mere homeowner and try to find a sales person who'll be helpful or nice. Typically you'll feel either ignored or like you're somewhere you're not supposed to be. In contrast, American Tile is like a Spanish-speaking version of the sitcom Cheers for people who want to buy tile. There's a cool fatherly kind of guy who's like a hispanic Yoda and a few cute girls behind the counter. My part-time Guatemalan employee would like to treat one of those girls like his princess. read more

While they have a pretty strong selection here, the employees that were working weren't exactly the most helpful when my wife and I stopped by... There were a couple employees helping out a couple other people, and the remaining employees were busier catching up on gossip with one another, then to spend time with us. We definitely don't need our hands held through the whole experience, but we wanted to make sure we didn't overlook any tile options within their huge inventory. Great selection of reasonably priced tile for floors, bathrooms, kitchens, and other tile projects. Staff is super helpful, and it's conveniently located right next to the Cypress Park Home Depot, in case you are there anyway buying other home improvement stuff. After discussion with the staff person, I was helpfully steered away from a much costlier option, and chose something much more within our budget that also looks great. He definitely wanted to help us rather than jack up the prices on us. So rare! Turnaround time for our order was quick and reliable. I was impressed by the knowledge and courtesy of everyone I spoke to. High praise! Hint - they rent tile saws and other machinery at much lower prices than Home Depot next door. Bonus hint - You'll probably do much better here if you speak Spanish, but they definitely have English speaking staff too. read more

My "tile guy" is an excellent craftsman, but I'd venture to guess he hasn't quite got the material estimating part down, yet. So. I spent lots of time at American Tile. The prices are very reasonable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful after multiple visits and additional orders. If you luck into their floor stock being all that you need, you'll save a boatload. Tile is complex, because each manufacturer cuts in different sizes, so getting an apples to apples comparison is treacherous. Mary and the sales staff were really great at helping me navigate through the options and the process. read more

These prices are higher than what you can get at similar stores in the area. They have a high sticker price on the item so they can quote you at a few bucks off, to give the effect that you are getting a deal, when you still aren't. Although the price can be better than going mainstream like, Home Depot, they are still overpriced. They try to push the tiles that they have in stock, are cheaper, and you can return them later if you change your mind. Most of everything else is special order, and there's no changing your mind after that. I found the same glass tile a few miles away for half the price. A total of $100 difference on the whole order. I went on two different days and got two different quotes from two different ladies that said their price was the lowest it could go. I asked for porcelain, they sold me ceramic. i give it 2 stars instead of 1 because the return process was easy and they are quick to fix a mistake. Shocked is all I can say. As a celebrity with a home renovation show, we need to match vintage tile all the time. I decided to give American Tile a shot as we are always looking for great places. I gave them a sample to match. They made the order and placed it wrong. Then it took twice as long to come in again. When we went to install it, the tile DID NOT match the sample in size or grout space. When I went in to let them know, the girls at the desk were so rude and disrespectful, saying, "We can't guarantee that the tile you order is going to match. It changes all the time." Thanks Monica! I went here on recommendation from my contractor. I bought most of my tile here for my home remodel. They can be helpful, but you have to know what you want, they're not designers. The prices are fair, but a bit more expensive than what you would find in Anaheim on State College Blvd. They were pretty good at first, nice, cordial. I spent a lot of money here because of sq. footage I was given to order by my contractor. Double check your measurements and buy less if you can and if you run out, then buy more. When you buy the tile, make sure you check the pieces, especially liners and decorative pieces. I found some broken pieces here and there, but were exchanged. I would not recommend special order items because there are absolutely no returns/exchanges/credit on these. I am stuck with expensive tile that I was led to believe was top quality and paid more for than any of my other tile. This same special order tile was almost $2 sq. ft. more than tile stores in Anaheim for the exact same tile. Actually a lot of what they have is available in Anaheim for a bit less. I would advise exchanging/returning all items you don't need within their 30 day window. But keep in mind there is a 30% restocking fee. I dont think I would purchase a large amount of tile from here anymore. Only if I was in a bind. read more
