I placed my order for delivery at 640pm. I ordered chicken souvlaki, lamb gyro, roasted potatoes and baclava. The souvlaki was alright I can't complain much about it. The gyro was extremely dry. When I received the order I was missing the baclava, I called them immediately to let them know. I was switched off to three different people on the phone who could not understand I was missing part of my order. I was rudely told that they'll bring it. After waiting for 2 hours I recite the baclava. I've had it elsewhere before and loved it. When I tasted it from the Greek corner it tasted like sweet garbage it was soggy and old, drenched in syrup. I'm extremely disappointed, I would not order here again or recommend this place. The wait time and delivery service is ridiculous. I live about one mile away an it took 3 hours to receive my order! First time ordering from Greek Corner and the only reason is because Avli is having computer issues. Welp, never again. I ordered a small Greek salad with gyro meat on top. Dressing was already on the salad and it basically drowned in it. I wish I knew before because for some strange reason they gave me another salad dressing anyway. I would have asked for it on the side. It says on the menu it comes with stuffed grape leaves. However I didn't get any. When I called to make sure it was supposed to come with it, the guy on the phone stated it was supposed to come with 1 because it's a small, the large salad gets 2... and then he asked me not once but 3 times if I was sure there weren't any in it. I told him I would take a picture if he truly didn't believe me the first time I said it. Then he asked the cook and he claims he did. I'm literally looking at my salad as I'm speaking to him. My friend ordered a SIDE Greek salad and she got 1 in it. Long story short, even though I asked him if it's supposed to have, he stated he would send me some. Never got it. I had no idea there was Greek food like this so close to me. That being said, most of my experience with Greek food has been redirected to Astoria (BZ Grill anyone?) This place is not the best Greek food I've ever eaten (a little more greasy than I'm used to.) However, the fact that they delivered, in less than a half hour, for a good price, all while being open on Sunday merits 4 stars. I want to give this place another shot b/c we really love Greek food but I haven't been able to bring myself back yet. On another note the owner & workers are very friendly and the place has a really cute atmosphere. Ordered Gyro platters expecting a Gyro with sides of either french fries or spaghetti which is the sides we ordered. It also said soup and salad but when you order he tells you no - either soup or salad. So we got soup which was a very nice portion. Problem was the "Gyro" was just sliced meat. That's it. They gave only one pita each platter and containers of the white sauce and a container of tomatoe sauce for the pasta. Nothing else. I thought a Gyro was supposed to be tomatoes and onions - at the least - and Greek places always give pickles or cucumbers with it. All we got were slices of meat with sauce. It is not really a Gyro. What we did get tasted fine and the amount that we got was generous. There was enough meat in each platter for 2 Gyros. They delivered faster then they said. The delivery guy was nice and happy for the tip. But we wound up peeling our own cucumbers and dicing our own tomatoes and onions (lucky we had a few in the fridge) to make it into an actual Gyro. This should have been described in the menu as just sliced meat - not really a Gyro platter. read more

Absolutely unacceptable customer service. My children waited for over 2 hours to eat. When I called to politely inquire about our order, the guy was rude and dismissive. This is a place that my best friend literally orders from all the time, which I told the guy. He didn't care. He just kept making excuses about their online ordering system (I fail to see how that ends up being the customer's problem, but whatever). They didn't even try to make things right by throwing in extra food or anything. When we called back to cancel the order (this after 2.5 hours waiting and our 2nd call) he promised the order would be comped. He's a liar, and they still charged us. It is a truly dishonorable way to do business. It was one of the strangest interactions of my life and I worked in restaurants for years. Just for clarity, I never write bad reviews. Even when I go to a restaurant and the service sucks I tip as well as I can. I know the industry and I know it isn't easy. But making excuses while my kids were starving and then lying about making things right is where I draw the line. The food is fine, it isn't anything special. Making pork souvlaki is exceedingly easy (all it is is lemon juice, garlic and oregano), and the tsatziki was exactly what you could get at Costco or Stop and Shop. As a Greek who grew up on my yaiyai's cooking (for whatever that is worth) I can honestly say this a true, authentic Greek restaurant. Gyro meat (lamb, obviously) is fantastic, crispy but not burnt and seasoned very well. And they have avegolemono soup on the menu, which is a tough find even at other Greek restaurants. I had a deluxe bacon turkey burger, my wife had chicken souvlaki. Both were pretty good. The turkey burger was a little dry, but I didnt add cheese. Definitely add cheese if you're ordering a burger. $2 for bacon was a little expensive, but you get a good sized portion. Same with the turkey burger itself, and you get a large order of fries with the deluxe. Well worth it. The interior is pretty small. Food is pretty good and they generally have good deals during the week, particularly with gyros. Me and my family have gotten lunch from here many times during the years and the advice I would give is if you like gyros go on Monday as it is bogo.
