This afternoon, my mother and I dined at Greek Brothers for lunch and we had an amazing time. Everything was absolutely delicious. We started with a lunch option, consisting of the Spanakopita (flaky and generously filled with spinach and feta) and a Greek Salad (fresh with lightly dressed vegetables). We also shared a Pita Chicken Gyro, the chicken was well-seasoned, the pita bread was soft and freshly baked, and all of it combined made each bite enjoyable. We couldn't leave without trying dessert, so we ordered the Orange Cake. At first, the texture hit differently; if I can compare it to anything, it would be close to bread pudding - it was moist but not overly wet. After the first bite, we didn't want to stop eating it. The flavors were divine. Our server, Jocelyn was a tremendous help; she was personable, attentive, and thoughtful, considering our needs before we even asked. Decided to finally stop into Greek Brothers in Franklin Square after driving past it so many times, and I'm really glad we did. I went with my plus one, and from the moment we walked in, the experience was great. The place is very clean, not very big, but super comfortable with a nice traditional Greek vibe. We were greeted and seated by one of the owners (one of the brothers), which made it feel even more welcoming. Our waitress was friendly, professional, and checked on us several times, which I always appreciate without it feeling overdone. I ordered the gyro, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. But the real standout? Dessert. It was honestly out of this world. The owner mentioned it's his mother's recipe, "made with love," and you can truly taste that in every bite. I'm still thinking about it and would go back just for that alone. After many months of passing by Greek Brothers, today I used yelp assistant to find something new, fun, and different in Franklin Square. Greek Brothers was first on the list. I wanted pizza (Z) but didn't want the carbs because I'm doing so well with losing 20lb by eating healthy, eating some vegan options, no beef, and watching my sugar intake and of course, exercise. Entering Greek Brothers you can see the influence of a Greek interior decorator. Traditional Greek chairs with handwoven straw seats accompanied by marble table tops. The dining area is compact, yet it delivers on every expectation by offering a few well‑chosen dine‑in options while efficiently handling takeout and online orders. The service is impeccable here. Giannis, one of the brother/owners actually stood in the dinning area greeting quests entering this treasure trove and offering them a seat, he consistently checked on every guest throughout the dining experience. His actions were stellar, and the non verbal communication resignated as welcome to my home and let me feed you because you are my guest! MY FOOD - APPS- 5 Falafel balls served with hummus $7.89 Horiatiki Greek Salad ingredients - cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, feta cheese, kalamanta olives, extra virgin olive oil. Lge $15.99 Grilled chicken added $8.99 Greek chocolate cake $7.99 The falafel dish reminded me of hush puppies. They were very delicious and paired very well with hummus, a preferred choice if you love hummus. I became ecstatic when my plus one told me to take the last piece. The Horiatiki Greek Salad-, everything was fresh and it served a generous amount, nothing was soggy, the cucumbers were very crisp, providing a snap in every bite, I tried to finish it because it was so delicious but I tapped out. My plus one even said, are you going to be able to finish it. I had to take it home. The pita bread came in triangle shapes, it was toasted with the right touch of crispness. The grilled chicken was remarkably the best I've ever had, tender and enjoyable, cooked to perfection, no over grilling, not dry and no crisp or burn. I must pause to say that the young lady that served us was very confident in dealing with strangers. She has the gift of hospitality! We asked for desert at the beginning, little did she know, she sold the cake at the beginning with her description. She said it was never ending chocolate, chocolate upon chocolate upon chocolate. LOL! The cake was very enjoyable and delicious, just shy of being wet. The end of our meal was the very best. That's when we learned about the Greek Brothers in detail. Gianni told us how the Greek Brothers purposely openned this small restaurant in Franklin Square Long Island NY and strageticly acquired another location in Manhasset NY. When we inquired of the ingredients in the Greek chocolate cake, he smiled and said that it was made up of LOVE and later expounded; the Greek cake was their mother's recipe, a long standing tradition that existed for many decades. Their interior designer flew in from Greece by demand work on this project, and presented a heavily accented style decor. Suggestion- protein prices should be included in the salad price. I think and it almost was a deterent for me to get either the salad or both salad and protein. Pro tip,- go for the smaller salad, you can enjoy it's freshness in one setting. The chicken Gyro that I ordered for my wife was dry and tasteless and the beef and lamb Gyro that I ordered for myself and paid an extra price for french fries, which they put three on the sandwich itself not an order of fries not a lot of fries... It'll be the last time we order from there. When I called to alert them about the missing fries from the order I was told to drive back from Oceanside with the sandwich to prove to them. There was no french fries on it for $1.50 they're arguing with meand then left me on hold for almost 5 minutes while he went to discuss it with his manager. Best chicken souvlaki we've had from any of the local places we've tried. But the lemon potatoes were so over salted we couldn't eat them, and I like salty food. Pita bread was soft and warm, and we loved the Greek salad- no lettuce, just cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, olives etc and a nice dressing. Four stars because of the salty lemon potatoes and the fact that it took an hour to arrive; the door dash driver apparently waited quite some time at the restaurant. It's always a pleasure to have food from Greek Brothers. Took out dinner tonight for my family and ordered ahead but then once we already had ordered i realized we didn't have any wet dog food left in the house. Despite the restaurant being busy with guests at tables and many take out orders they were able to whip up a nice plain piece of grilled chicken for my dog too last minute. I ordered through uber eats & was impressed by the packaging. The paper around the gyro was detailed with the logo of the restaurant as well as a sticker on the container for the avgolemono soup. The gyro was pretty good. I wish there was more of a dill taste/more dill on the gyro as well as French fries on the gyro. When I went to Greece they had them & they are considered authentic. Insanely good!! I don't usually review on Yelp, but I had to for this place. I think this is the best greek food I've ever had, for sure a hidden gem! First, the service is amazing. The owner is so friendly, my mom and dad went in first for a snack and were so impressed, they told me I had to go. I love discovering new restaurants and seeing what the best spots are especially on long island so when I want to indulge I can indulge on something amazing. The owner actually has experience in michelin star restaurants, from Milo's (a very popular greek restaurant in Manhattan) to the four seasons hotels, he knows his way around when it comes to cooking for sure! I really can't say that about just any place on long island. His experience really does speak for itself. While the place is small and you don't notice it at first, it's very well decorated and I actually really enjoyed the ambience! The music is good and it's such a nice place to just sit down with family and chill while eating. As I said, the owner is also very attentive and will come over to talk to customers/guests. The takeout is also very good too, both while dining in and getting takeout I feel the food doesn't take too long to prepare! Close to everything (if not everything) is imported from Greece, the food is so fresh and goes down so smooth! It tastes INCREDIBLE. I started off with an orange soda that the owner told me is popular in Greece and he drank growing up, it was so fresh and delicious! I really hate most soda since it tastes so artificial and too over sweetened, but this was so perfect. I tried the cherry as well, but the orange just has a light sweetness and slight carbonation to it that is so delicious and delicate! Best soda I've tasted hands down. And the food itself is amazing. The chicken gyro is soooo good, I love chicken gyros in general but this one is the best I've ever had. There's a perfect amount of sauce and the ingredients ratio is balanced very nicely! Also if you want extra sauce, there's no problem asking for some on the side which I did! I had extra tzatziki sauce and it was truly so incredible and delicious. My parents, sister and I also shared the platter; and even though it's meant for two, I believe it's a lot of food! The portion sizes are soooo good for the pricing and quality of the food. We had the salmon and chicken, it was all gone by the end. Every component of the dish was great, from the protein to the rice. I was so stuffed but I just kept eating because it was so good! Also the greek salad is very delicious, I'm usually not a fan of greek salad but it was seriously incredible. The feta cheese was also just so fresh, I could really eat just a pound of it alone it's so addictive and delicious. And of course we had to get dessert, and the first time I had was with takeout dessert from them when my parents brought me back some food. It was so good I ordered three different desserts and told my family I wasn't sharing any because it's just too good and I'd eat it all! I'm very picky about my desserts, I'm a home baker since I was 12 so usually I try dessert but wind up unsatisfied since it's nothing I can't make at home, I've tried many many different bakeries on long island. But these desserts were just so amazing no matter what I tried it was so delicate, flavorful, perfectly balanced in sweetness, and moist. My favorite so far is the baklava, the orange cake is such a close second though especially if you're looking for something lightly sweet. I also tried the chocolate cake (traditionally known as Sokolatopita) and it was so delicious and moist, it tasted nearly like pudding, although it was heavy but in my opinion the best chocolate cake should be heavy, fudgey, and chocolatey. Each dessert literally melts in your mouth, just as good as the main entrees and appetizers, probably my favorite part! Overall, such an amazing place. Over time I know it will get even more popular, this place deserves it. It's a big thing to say, but this is the best greek on long island that I've had at least! I will continue as a regular, the food and everything is just so good! I highly highly recommend coming here, the prices are just as great as the food in my opinion especially for the quality you're getting! It's small, but the food is so big in taste and quality it doesn't matter. It's slowly becoming one of my favorite restaurants on long island!!!
