Greatest Escape Lancaster provided excellent service to my group of friends and myself last night. They helped book a room for my birthday, and we had such a wonderful time. The experience was so much fun, and it was great working together to solve puzzles, build our team skills, and learn new things throughout the game. We were so close to completing it, but it was still a blast trying to figure everything out together. After the game, we also learned about the history of the escape rooms and how the managers came together to create something special. It was really nice hearing about their passion for the business and how they are still looking to expand and grow. Thank you for helping make my birthday celebration so enjoyable. Greatest Escape - The Apartment - Escape Games Near Me - Lancaster, California

Family was in Lancaster today to challenge ourselves with a couple of Escape Rooms and we entered Greatest Escape with the full intention of taking down their "Behind the Wardrobe" and "Prison Break" rooms. We have a very friendly GM who chatted with us when we arrived, got us checked in and ready to rock. She gave us a quick breakdown of everything and away we went. Both rooms are well designed and we really enjoyed some of the unique challenges presented in "Behind the Wardrobe." They use the older method of clues with a walkie talkie but the GM was very responsive and gave us a clue or information quickly if we needed it. We escaped both rooms and I think we would have broken the escape record for one of the rooms if we hadn't run into some technical difficulties that halted our progress. Overall we had a great time and we will return when they add more rooms in the future, I'd recommend giving it a try. Had to remove one star for a couple issues I'll touch on quickly. -We had a technical issue in both rooms. In one room a locking mechanism didn't release when it should have and it cost us several minutes because the GM didn't realize it and we didn't receive an item we needed to finish the room. In the other room a lock didn't open despite us having the right combination, the GM came into the room and got it open on her 4th attempt. -The Prison Break room had no back story, we weren't given any story information or shown a video to hype us for the room and tell us what was going on. We were just tossed into the room and the timer started, it was definitely strange and took away from the immersion a little bit. read more

We had an amazing time for my daughter's birthday! We did the jailbreak room and finished in about 46 minutes with minimal clues from the moderator. I've done some other escape rooms that were too complicated to follow. This room the clues were easy to follow if you pay attention. This is such a gem for the Antelope Valley for entertainment. Great local escape room! Very friendly staff and challenging options. Only thing is we were a 2-person team working with only 1 flashlight so it was difficult to work on more than 1 clue at a time. I'd give it 5 stars if we had our own flashlights to work on solving different clues. read more

So disappointing. The description did not state that the room would be pitch black and that 6 people would be sharing one flashlight. I couldn't see anything enough to participate. OMG so glad we have something like this in the AV. I went with some girlfriends and we did the jail brake room. It was cool how some of our party started in the jail cell and the others trying to break them out. After three of us were released from the cell we worked together on the figuring out the clues but we didn't make it out ! Honestly the clues and the manner that everything in this room was thought out was great. If we had been more focused we might have been able to get out but we went wine tasting beforehand LOL. My friends and I have done all their rooms at this location (and the other one for that matter)! All of them are very different and well thought out. Very immersive. I love a good scary room and The Apartment didn't disappoint. We just came up from Hollywood to do the other two and we're happy we did. The set design is great and the puzzles were fun. Been here before the Pandemic with my coworkers and played through the Apartment. Creepy and a lot of puzzles. We had some scare moments and barely got out with like 30 seconds. Had so much fun then Pandemic hit. Fast forward to November 12,2023. We went for my birthday and did the Narnia themed one. I believe it's called the Wardrobe or beyond the wardrobe. Sorry I meant to review when it was fresh in my mind but life got extremely busy. Anyway this one is NOT scary it is a bunch of challenging puzzles. We had so much fun and yes we had to request clues. Unfortunately we only made it about 85-90% through to the end. I was disappointed on that but I enjoyed time spent with my family.If you like puzzles then this is the one for you- NOT scary just magical. We plan on going to the other location on Valley Central way maybe for Christmas! This might be a mom/pop business but they are incredible and the value to me is worth more than you pay which is a very decent price read more

Things you can do in the AV: -boring walk in the mall -see a movie at the theaters -a super fun escape room!!! A few friends and I got to experience our first escape room here, and now we're obsessed! Literally on Thursday we're booking a whole room and we're bringing new escapees with us. 15/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone. We had fun, we got our brains working, and made memories we won't forget! The prices are affordable, and it's tons of fun. I waited until I had done all three rooms before I posted this review. What I like most about Greatest Escape is that you have 3 levels of intensity. 1- Beyond the Wardrobe. Themed after the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, this room is GREAT for children. It is not a scary room, but instead full of adventure. If you have at least one seasoned escaper in your party, you'll probably make it out and enjoy all the fun clues. We were really impressed. 2- Jail Break. Definitely more difficult than Narnia land, but still not scary. The clues take more time and there is a lot of team work involved. We were so close to escaping this one, just a clue and a half away, but we were still very new to the escape room fun when we did this one. Good for seasoned escapees. 3- The Apartment. This one is definitely scary. Do not bring your kids. Don't bring yourself if you are scared of the dark, because you will be paralyzed with fear and you will waste your money. I was all for this one because I love mysteries and serial killers and all that interesting stuff, however, upon entering the room, it was clear you're 90% in the dark most of the time. We had one brave member of our team and you better believe he carried us through. We didn't escape. We got pretty close for one guy dealing with all the clues pretty much. If you don't like haunted houses you will not like the room. If you're a fear conquering adrenaline junkie, you will love it. Very well done for all three rooms, very helpful and attentive staff. Oh, Wadrobe, our very first escape room of all times, how we love and will never forget you! Greatest escape was our very first escape room and really set off a love for this hobby! Wardrobe is beautiful, well done, well planned, and really thought provoking. The props are handmade and fantastic. I loved everything, and so did my husband and son (7). It was not scary, and very engaging. Perfect for younger kids! We escaped on our second booking, and the ending was fabulous! I have to admit that I am the biggest chicken ever! I even almost darted for the emergency exit when someone in our group jumped to hard. But still I had a fabulous time. There isn't a lot to do in this town so it's nice to have something different and fun to do. This was challenging and our group just barely failed. What a blast we had today. Team building activity turned into a down right scary time . This escape room did not fail. My team did the Apartment . The scariest one they have. The other team played it safe and went with the Jail Break room. First off our room was in complete darkness. With a tiny bit of light from the TV. Second you get 3 clues in 60 minutes. USE THEM. we wasted 15 minutes trying to do it on our own. We didn't make it out within our time but we were close. Real close. And when I say you will be scared, you will be scared. There was some one in the other room we had to go in. When the hostess says " please don't punch the live actor in there" we all shut up and we'll it got real. The clues. Well all I will say is USE THE CLUES. it was hard even with the clues. I will def be back to try some more rooms. read more

This was a fantastic experience. The owner is very nice and with all the thought put into the room(the wardrobe) my girlfriend and I did it was a very fun experience. We only had a hang up where when we first needed a hint we were lead through hints for puzzles we had already completed. In the end it took nothing away from our experience and we had a wonderful time. I've recommended this place to coworkers and to anyone with a curios mind that wants an adventure. read more

I've done two rooms here (still missing the apartment, but I will be doing that one soon). The wardrobe and jail break were very fun. My wife and I have done a handful of escape rooms and these were very well thought out rooms. Just difficult enough to make you really think things through. The owner really put a lot of time and effort into the puzzles. We escaped the wardrobe with about 10 minutes to spare but we needed a few extra minutes to finally escape. I look forward to trying the last room here. 10/10 would totally recommend this place read more

The owner was extremely personable and easy to hold a conversation with. What's more impressive is he designed the rooms personally which makes the amount of detail put into them even more amazing! An escape room in the Antelope Valley?? You bet! It's only open on certain days of the week (Thursday - Sunday?) so you need to make sure they're actually open before you go. I went on a Friday night and it was surprisingly empty. In fact, Downtown Lancaster in general was surprisingly dead on that Friday night. Not sure if that's normal, but just thought I'd put it out there that it definitely feels like a ghost town over there. There were no other parties joining us in our room so it was just 2 people solving the room on our room - which was actually quite fun! We did the jailbreak room which was thoughtfully planned, and you do get to ask as many hints as you want (if you dont' care to be on the High Scores List). The lady at the front was quite friendly as well. I'm not sure what I was expecting from an escape room in Lancaster, but it definitely did not disappoint and I'm excited to try the other room! read more

This place is awesome! We drove for over an hour to get here and they didn't disappoint. We did the Jail Break room with a large group of family for my husbands birthday. We had the best time solving puzzles and working together to get out. The people that run the place are wonderful. I made an error with my reservation and instead of turning us away they were able to accommodate us and let us through. They worked with us and made our day! We had such a good time. 3 of us were veterans of the escape rooms in the AV and 3 of us were newbies. I did all three of the rooms at their flagship location in the Lancaster Marketplace (Twisted Exit) and this new location is a great addition. The check in proc as was really easy. Sign a waiver/consent form. Basically says you are responsible for not break stuff. Nothing was "dangerous" in the room, but I'm sure their lawyers wanted something signed. NBD. We paid and off to the room we went. Jailbreak was really fun. I'm not going into details about the experience because I don't want to ruin it for you. The jail cell actually looked like a cell. Great job on the decor! This escape room was a tad easier than the ones I have previously experienced. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 on the difficulty level. Great for first time Escapers as long as there were more experienced players with them. But regardless of experience or smarts or cleverness everyone will have a good time. Worth the money. Definitely will be coming back to get the other rooms in. read more

We are escape room enthusiasts and have done rooms all over Los Angeles, San Diego, France & Italy. We didn't know what to expect of a room in Lancaster, so I think our expectations were relatively low. However, the Greatest Escape was a solid room! Our game masters were kind and very helpful, the location is charming & most importantly, the room was solid! We did the Prison Break room and there was A LOT to do. This is a scavenger-heavy room so make sure to look everywhere. When you think you've looked everywhere, you haven't. Look again! Haha they had some very creative and unique ways of hiding clues. You also start out separated, but you can see and talk to the other members of your group. This was my 50th escape room and we got out with about 10 minutes left. There are a LOT of puzzles so bring a good team of your smartest friends! It's a lower-tech room but still very fun. We will definitely be back to play their other room. read more

My team did both rooms and I have to say both rooms were pretty amazing. I personally liked The Apartment better because I'm a fan of thriller/horror rooms. This room incorporated great puzzles with a little bit of originality with their clue hiding rather than the typical scavenger hunt (although it did have some of that). To the room owner - Not sure if it has changed, but I'm worried about smaller children or careless adults cutting themselves in this room with one of the clues. I don't want to post specifically to not give it away, but you should know what I am referring to. There are a few items that I think careless people can actually cut/hurt themselves with. I LOVED that clue btw, but I just wouldn't want to see you get shut down or sued over someone being stupid or a child trying to get the clue out. read more

Two thumbs up for the Greatest Escape. Our party of 10 attempted "The Apartment" last night. Everyone had a great time. Joseph was the one that helped my wife book the room and he was super helpful. He accommodated us rescheduling our first reservation with no problems. Him and his assistant were great to deal with during our hour of fun, and were very knowledgeable and helpful during our whole experience.
