Huge thanks to Super Elite Yelper Gary I. for suggesting our visit to this unique animal rescue…read more Animal Tracks rescues animals, some exotic and some not, and aims to take the very best care of them that they can. Their public tours are an effort to raise funds for animal maintenance and to educate the public about the harm to the animals of raising non-domesticated exotic pets. The stories they tell are frightening. Who in their right mind would try to raise a wolf family in an apartment? Who with any common sense would think a monkey would make a good pet? People can be extremely stupid and self-centered when it comes to exotic animals, unfortunately. This is why so many exotic animals end up in danger, on the streets, or in packed rescues. The mostly-volunteer staff did a remarkable job introducing us to the animals in their care. The wide variety of animals calling Animal Tracks home is mind-boggling: birds, kangaroos, wolves, porcupines, baboons, donkeys, horses....the list goes on and on. The animals seemed clean and well-cared for by staff that is very invested. The only issue we had was parking access. Our car was blocked in by another guest's car for at least 20 minutes, without any warning that we might be blocked in. Finally, a staff member asked the remaining guests who was parked there and they did eventually move their car. If you are an animal lover, the tour is highly recommended. Perfect for kids!

Each Sunday the center offers guided tours (no walk-ins allowed) and visitors will need to book a session on their website. [Sunday Public Group Experiences & Prices]: It is a 75-minute guided tour that focuses more on education over physical contact. For adult (ages 13+), the price is $49.95 per person + online booking fees. I actually purchased the experience via Groupon with an additional 20% off. [Preparation]: Arrive 10 - 15 minutes early and wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and layers for outdoor conditions. All visitors must complete an online waiver prior to attending. Water, Gatorade, coffee and snacks are available for purchase in the barn. [Parking]: Park as directed upon arrival and I was able to park within the premise of the barn. [Experience]: The tour started at 2 PM and ended at 3:30 PM. Our main guide Stacy was humorous. Each segment of the tour had its own specialist who shared knowledge on specific animals. During the tour, our party was able to see the following animals: horses/donkeys (with an opportunity to feed them lettuce leaves at no extra charge), hybrid wolves (with an opportunity to feed them by throwing food via a small window opening), cockatoos, armadillo, skunk, opossums, pigs, scorpions, porcupines, hedgehog, kangaroos, monkeys (including Tara who was featured in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl), sugar gliders (will need to ask the staff to see them), etc. Some animal got some clever pun names like Quillie Eilish (one of porcupines). [Barn]: There is a small gift shop at the barn and visits will also see cats running around the shop. [Conclusion]: The tour was extremely educational and it was quite an eye-opening experience to see these rescued animals. This is a much better visit than The Gentle Barn and the tour from Animal Tracks is the real deal. Highly recommended for any animal lovers. P.S. - Donation box is located within the barn. P.P.S. - Visitors can also take a centerpiece plant on the tables back home for free at the end.

When entering the restroom immediately smelled like marijuana and there were bits and pieces in the sink. They have "security" there on certain days only and seems as though all this activity and the suspicious hooded individuals walking around that might be the culprits are there with them since there is no care in the world. Used to be a good go to place to let the kids burn some energy but no more. Staff even announced that there were safety concerns and everyone should stay put on the last visit. Almost as if wanting to create chaos instead of notifying the individuals getting ready to leave or walking around and notifying adults in silence. Very unprofessional, messy, and getting less and less mid friendly even though that is the whole point of an establishment such as this.

A lot of movies, music videos, and TV have been filmed here, often to depict otherworldly alien landscape, it was in a couple episodes of Star Trek and the gift shop has some Star Trek related merchandise. You can park right next to the famous rocks and go climbing up, this is my favorite type of park since there are no guardrails or fences, you can go where you want. Be careful though, the ranger told us the week before we went someone got scared coming down and broke their ankle and had to be airlifted out, remember it's always easy to climb up than it is to climb down. Toward the back of the famous rocks are some nice boulders and a hike you can go on, some of these rocks look like animals or faces and is worth checking out if the famous ones are too crowded. The witches hat is a bit hard to find but go to the visitor center and it's walkable from there. The rangers can help you find it, there are also animals in the different sheds you can check out.

It was a colorful mini train with a driver in the engine trailing two train cars with two rows each, just big enough to fit a dozen small children. The kids went nuts for this train. There were too many of them to ride at once, but they took turns for the first few rides until some of them started to get bored and returned to the rest of the party. The remaining die-hards, including my son, kept the train full for the remainder of its contracted time. I think it was there for one hour, and my son was on board for more than 45 minutes. The parking lot was small, and the train had a tight route: two loops followed by a dizzying finale of mini-train donuts. The driver moved fast, swerving and accelerating to delight the children. They were all buckled in, with the driver checking himself before each departure, but it did feel a little bit dicey. I am not shocked that this Yelp page is mostly 5-star reviews, with a smattering of 1-stars due to child endangerment. (There appears to have been an incident in September 2017.) My boy and his friends had a blast, though, and no one was harmed by this hour of Trains on the Move. If you have little thrill seekers and moderate risk tolerance, your kids are guaranteed to love the speedy baby train.
