Escape Room 66 is located in central Los Angeles. We came out to try their Inksidius room. This was our first time to this location, but we did their Prison Break room when they had a Tustin location, and we had a great experience. There is no on-site parking here, and you will have to find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. We went on an early Sunday afternoon and Alcott Street was packed solid, but there were several spots available on Saturn Street, both of which are just around the corner. When you walk around to La Cienega, they are located inside of a blueish-grey colored building behind a dark wood gate. We were lucky and caught a car entering the parking lot so the gate was already open. If the gate is closed, hit the button on the intercom and they will buzz you in. Walk along the building until you can go left, and their front door is straight ahead on the bottom floor. The lobby is cool, a little on the darker lit side, with some Halloween type décor. We were greeted by our game master Gabe who gave us paper waivers to sign while he finished resetting the room. You can request unlimited clues, except for during the first ten minutes when you are on your own with no help. We had things scouted out pretty well, but started making real progress after our first hint at the ten minute mark. The room is mostly linear, with a good mix of locks and mechanical/physical puzzles. The décor and puzzles are tied into the theme well. The latter part is particularly unique with its styling. Gabe was quick to give us hints when requested, and we appreciated that he just gave us a small nudge without totally giving away what to do next. We escaped with a few minutes left. On the way out, Beans the chonky house cat dropped by the lobby to say hello and congratulate us on our escape. Escape Room 66 has great rooms, and we enjoyed this one.

We hadn't done an escape room in over 7+ years and with a quick search I stumbled across this one. Upon walking in i immediately loved the atmosphere, I felt like I was in a wonderland of mystical powers. I was greeted by Gabe who was extremely friendly and super helpful. He was an amazing game master. He introduced us to Beans whom, if you ever go, will find to be the cutest, most lovable kitty around. Beans sat in my lap as i signed the waiver, making sure I got every i dot and every t crossed. The game itself was immersive, the puzzles were very well thought out and were different than what we have encountered at other games. We did the Mushroom one (sorry off the top of my head i dont remember the name) and we were able to escape, with help ofcourse. We needed clues along the way and Gabe made sure to help us but did not make it easy either, he just simply pointed us in the right direction. There was three portions to this game, each one had a ton of puzzles to solve, each one requiring a different thought process. I cant wait to go back, if you are looking for a great experience please come check this place out, and say hi to Beans for me Ps. Thank you Gabe, you were amazing.

We did two rooms on the same day: Mush Room and Inksidious. Inksidious was a very cool decorated escape room and we solved everything with a few minutes left of time. Mush Room was alright, some puzzles were unorganized and didn't seem well thought out. Our game master, I forgot her name, but she was very nice and made the experience fun. Also, her chubby cat was so sweet and I was a fan of the Hollywood Tower Hotel art on the walls.

Tuesday and Cole were great and amazing, but BEANS STOLE THE SHOW. Beans is such a little cutie. We love her. The rooms are great, but we spent a good 10-15 minutes beforehand with Beans, and about 10-15 minutes after with her. Anyways, we did Inksidious, and it was a lot of fun. The puzzles were extensive and there was a lot to do. Almost thought we weren't gonna finish on time though, but you can tell they put a lot of love and effort into this. I cannot say that much about the rooms, but I HIGHLY recommend it. Anyways, there will be street parking. Once you get to the building, you'll notice it looks like an apartment or motel. There's a large gate that they'll open when you let them know you're here. Once you walk into the place, just wow. Lots of fun, interactive, and spooky things to do. It's well-decorated and super cozy. You'll get what I mean if you go! Anyways, the owner is a sweetheart. She was just the best. She was informative and fun. You can definitely tell that this place was made with creativity and love. The game master too was so chill and honestly I highly recommend coming here. They just make you feel so welcomed. My friends and I are planning to come back for Beans and the Mush Room for sure!

Daddy took our 10 year old and they had a blast doing the mushroom room together! The staff was all very kind and helpful. We are already planning to come back as a family. Thank you for making it such a great experience for them!

I had so much fun doing the mush room at this location. I did it with my girlfriend for her first escape room ever for her birthday. She absolutely loved it and thought it was so cool and creative. It was a bit challenging but we got a lot of clues and made it just in time ! I would highly recommend to anyone because you can do it with anyone and with any group. They were so nice and welcoming. I would definitely come back!

Great firt time experience for our 3 small children. The two staff members present on 1/26 at 515 pm were wonderful. They were so patient with our kids and gave us helpful clues. Very well-run and fun room (we did the mash room). Our 6 year old daughter particularly loved it and already wants to do another one.

My husband and I have played well over 100+ escape rooms and this Mush Room one made our top 10! Loved the decorations and intricacies of this room, definitely kept us stimulated and the theme was super fun. They even added a nice touch for our wedding anniversary and made it personalized for us :) many thanks

NEW ROOM ALERT! My friend and I had the pleasure of being the first official booking for this awesome new room at Escape Room 66 - The Mush Room!!! This new room is at their LA location! Upon arriving, we were graciously greeted by the amazing Tuesday who is a pleasure to talk to. It's always fun to find new rooms near me and even better when they're run but people who enjoy what they do. If you get the chance, go check out The Mush Room! You won't be disappointed!

We escaped!

We had such a great time doing the Inksidious escape room! Our game masters Tuesday and Cole were full of energy and really made our experience fun! We even had some guest game masters, Beans the cat and Farley the doggy! Escape Room 66 has 2 of our favorite rooms that we have ever done! We cant wait until they open up their next room!

I give it 3 stars for a few reasons without giving anything away: 1. Rooms are too linear. Puzzles were done one at a time. Thats really fun for a smaller group, not a larger group. 2. Puzzles. Have you ever played an escape game on your phone and when you ask for a hint or clue, a circle highlights an item for you to help out with the next step? It felt the same way in one of the rooms where the next item was lit up. Made it too easy. 3. Jamar also helped us too often. He was very eager to help. Happened on 5-6 occasions where he spoke to us via the radio without us asking. He didn't even give us 5 min to ponder and think. We beat the rooms with so much time to spare too. Please give us some time to suffer bc thats part of the fun. I think there should be a policy that the moderator only helps if all participants agree and raise their hand... or they can warn the group that they are severely behind and ask if they want a hint. Other than that, just let it be. Another minor complaint we all had was in the Avalanche Room, the second room seemed to belong to Area 51. The theme shifted drastically so it felt very odd. However, it was impressive. Despite all that, we had a LOT of fun and would go again. Was worth the money and Jamar was still an awesome moderator that made us feel comfortable right when we entered.

They have more upstairs. Check-in process was fairly simple. Just like all the other escape rooms, you will need to complete a waiver. If you havent fully paid for the room, they will collect the balance there. The price is a little high for a one hour experience and tip is optional at the end via cash or a cashapp payment. For 8 people, on a Saturday, it was over $400. I read somewhere in the comments/questions section, there is a yelp check-in discount. I didnt see any on the website, so maybe check with them? Also, there is a code for $15 off your room in the photos section something. I didnt take a photo of it, but I do recall seeing a similar image at the check-in desk. Ive done about 12 escape rooms so far and this experience may have been the best teamwork me and my friends have participated in. We enjoyed ourselves and had a fun time with the theme! The puzzles were challenging which was great, but they kind of had to happen in sequence. So you could really only do 1 or 2 puzzles at a time in a pretty small space. There weren't a bunch of smaller puzzles or locks or anything like that to keep everyone occupied. It would probably be really fun for up to 6 people max. The space is fun, and the service was decent. There is a bar/lounge area with arcade games. The bathroom was clean. The cost was about $45 per person. We escaped in 37 minutes with the help of a few hints, but didn't make the leaderboard. I think it's pretty pricey for what this room experience was. It looks like some of the other ones come highly recommended, but this is my honest experience with this particular room.

From the moment the game kicks off, the immersion is on another level. You get fully suited up in prison gear before the clock even starts, which completely sets the tone for the rest of the experience. The set design here is phenomenal. It is a massive, two-story prison layout that genuinely makes you feel trapped. The puzzles are incredibly clever, forcing you to use real subterfuge and even a bit of physical dismantling of the environment to progress. It doesn't rely on basic lock-and-key tropes; instead, it uses awesome in-world elements like a "one phone call" mechanic that feels completely authentic to a prison break. The staff was fantastic, and we loved finding out that a portion of their booking proceeds goes to the Innocence Project. We had such a blast that we are already planning to come back and tackle Escobar Part 1. If you want to see a full look at the gameplay and the room layout, check out my video on TikTok @peachmodetriesit! Highly recommend this spot if you want an escape room that actually pushes the boundaries of production value.

Everyone in our group liked it and thought it was a very immersive experience. Having 7 people in the room did seem to be a bit too many people as a lot of the time it felt like half the group was just standing around waiting. As for booking the room: When we made the reservation online, they had a special where if it was someone's birthday month, they would play for free. We had a birthday person in our group but it was confusing how we should have reserved the room. We ended up reserving for 7 people online and they said the only option was to give us a one player free coupon for next visit (which was fine as this is a super generous deal already!). But for those who may also be confused, make sure to book the room for everyone minus the birthday person. Overall, great experience, super friendly staff, definitely will be back!
