Beef With Broccoli
Kyle S.

There's no lot so it's all street parking, usually doesn't get too packed in Silver Lake. Great Wall looks like a hole in the wall but it feels more spacious on the inside. The floor and tables were very clean, and the owner was very friendly. I didn't know there was a $15 credit card minimum and he cut me a break. I came here just wanting to fill my belly after a long day, I wasn't expecting to be impressed. The food here is very good, I got the beef with broccoli lunch special. The sauce was thick and flavorful; the beef and veggies were delicious. I am usually skeptical of quality control on new restaurants but this place delivered. The pork fried rice was seasoned and cooked properly. The wonton soup broth was a little too peppery for my taste, but the dumplings in the soup were good. For less than $10 I was impressed with what I was presented with. Delicious food for an affordable price is a rarity nowadays, definitely check out Great Wall if you're in Silver Lake.

Just an average place nothing to rave about. The sesame chicken was nothing like I ever had, I don't know what that was. The complementary black hair (I'm blonde) was a nice touch. I will not return. 2 stars for the effort.

Found this spot last minute, wanted to eat Chinese food nearby. Closes at a late hour, and accepts dine in. Food price is reasonable and serving size was great. This place was a small restaurant that had a couple tables for dine in which was perfect. This place has a great selection of food on their menu, and the food was served pretty fast. The beef low mein, spare ribs, and garlic broccoli was delicious. There was more than enough food for two. I ordered the shrimp sweet-and-sour which was a little different than my normal. It was basically deep-fried battered shrimp with a side of sweet-and-sour sauce. It was still delicious and fresh, but was not the dish I had in mind. The food that we ordered was amazing and delicious and would highly recommend. Overall this place is great!

General Tso's soggy, bland chicken. NO chili peppers, 2 broccoli florets.

I'm not sure how this restaurant has so many good reviews on another site. This has to be some of the worst Chinese takeout I've ever gotten. The General Tso's chicken was soggy, gummy and the sauce was not like any other restaurant. I had to look up my order receipt to see if I had ordered sesame or orange chicken by mistaken. There was no spice and there were no spicy chili peppers at all. The fried rice was also not good. Bland and nothing but onions and bean sprouts and barely any pork. The egg roll was much thinner than any I've gotten before also and was practically no filling at all - it was mostly soggy wonton wrapper wrapped around 3 layers at least. I'd say not even a teaspoon of filling. This is the most disappointing takeout I've gotten in a long while. I will not be back.

Large Orange Chicken, Steamed pork dumplings, small beef lo mein, and white rice and two sodas for under $25

Great Wall Chinese take out is definitely the best around. Honestly, I didn't even know how much better it was than others until I moved out of town and started trying other Chinese restaurants. The owner and his wife opened this place probably about 15-20 years ago. Although the decor is original and out dated, the food is just as good as it was when they opened. Delivery can be a little long during dinner hours, so picking up is the way to go.

Pleasantly surprised to discover that the restaurant inside my hotel (the Marriott Residence Inn)…read morewas actually a solid dim sum spot! I stopped by around 1:30-2pm on a Sunday and was seated immediately with no wait. Service was quick and efficient throughout the meal. I also liked that each table had a QR code so you can either order online yourself or through the server. Having both options is very convenient and presumably a major time-saver during their busier periods. The food came out promptly, and as always with dim sum, my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. I completely overordered, but honestly, no regrets because the leftovers made a great dinner later that night. A highlight for me was that they offered sweet silken tofu, which can surprisingly be hard to find. The tofu itself was silky and satisfying, though I personally wish the syrup had been just a touch sweeter, however, the ginger flavor came through wonderfully. It was also served closer to room temperature, which caught me off guard since I was expecting it chilled, but that may just come down to personal preference. Favorites from the meal: * Stuffed Eggplant -- very tasty * Shrimp Noodle Crepes -- one of my go-to dim sum dishes, so I was thrilled to see it on the menu * Salt & Pepper Squid -- definitely recommend; great flavor Overall, a really enjoyable and convenient dim sum experience, especially for a restaurant tucked inside a hotel lobby. I'd happily return the next time I'm in town for a meeting.

Aberdeen was the first restaurant I tried after moving to Westchester, and it set the bar high…read more From the tea to the atmosphere, it instantly reminded me of my trip to Hong Kong--comforting, authentic, and elevated. I ordered the shrimp rolls, meatless turnip cake, hot & sour soup, veggie dumplings, chive dumplings, and (very ambitiously) General Tso's chicken. Every dish was delicious, but the chive dumplings were the standout--perfect texture, fresh flavor, and not heavy at all. I could've easily ordered more. The hot & sour soup was comforting, and everything felt well-balanced rather than greasy. I was too full to fully enjoy the General Tso's, but even a few bites were great. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they validate parking (I thought it would be free, but it ended up being a reduced rate, which is still a great perk).

Worth a try. When…read moreyou walk in you can tell it has been newly renovated. I did an online pick up order with a friend. Said 35 minutes. It was ready in 20. Since it was online, I didn't get a real sense of the service. I can say he was polite and told us where to get anything we needed. All around, good Chinese food. They offer a lunch special which is worth the amount you get. Food is tasty and fresh. Only down side is the packaging for the egg rolls make it soggy.

We asked for tea - to lift the chill from outside. Flavorful jasmine tea (we were advised to let it steep for a couple of minutes). The menu has lots of interesting options - we went for the lunch specials - soup and rice included with the main dish. Wonton soup for the Honey, Hot and Sour soup for me - we usually end up tasting both so this is a good choice. Both soups were excellent! The Wonton flavorful with a good "body" with several wontons, tender wraps and tasty filling. The Hot and Sour soup deserves its own star! Delicious! Well balanced heat with lots of mushrooms and other vegetables in the flavorful bowl. The best in a long while! I chose the Sesame Chicken, the Honey, the LoMein. Both with brown rice. Good choices. Well portioned and obviously freshly made. We did share these too! We'll definitely be back!
