My favorite Chinese food place! When I visit Newton this is always where I want to eat! Fresh vegetables and light sauces. Egg rolls are delicious! Kitchen is very clean. I am shocked they don't serve tofu dishes! They really need to add this as an option. I've never been to a Chinese restaurant where they didn't serve tofu. I ordered honey chicken and sweet and sour chicken. When I brought it home, my honey chicken was the wrong order. I called and said I would come back to get what I ordered. They told me it was their mistake and they would deliver. I live out in Peabody. Still can't believe they drove all the way out here. I was very grateful. The food tasted amazing and was piping hot. I feel like we know what good Chinese tastes like and this was no where near good. First the girl taking our order had a language challenge so we were concerned our order would be right. The food came out with different vegetables than pictured on the menu. Spices were closer to other ethnic food than Chinese (cumin??). The sauce was sweet and not spicy as shown on the menu. Tried the Kung Pao shrimp and Szechuan Chicken combination plates - both were great! I will say that I didn't think the Kung Pao was very spicy - but I do like spice. A little sriracha is an easy fix. I love that they offer combination plates with fried rice and egg rolls, it's a good value. Will be back again for sure! read more

I absolutely love it, easily the best Asian food restaurant in town. I am a frequent customer here and I always try something new, or stick to my favorite meal. The people who work here are also super nice and their service is top notch. When ordering through phone, they always have that crucial 10 minute mark on the dot, I love it! Everything is cooked and made on the spot with great ingredients as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very welcoming in my opinion. Even better, the prices are stellar! I recommend giving this place a stop, I definitely think the food is good, try it for yourself! It's also safe to say that they got the best Lo Mein noodles in town! read more

The wife and I stopped by here for Sunday lunch. It was empty except for the employs table and we got our food fast. We had the Sesame Chicken combo plate and the House Special Lo Mein. They both were good and was enough for us to take home for dinner also. There are better Chinese places in Wichita but for Newton this place is great. Coming from the Wichita Great Walls, I'll say this one is a disappointment. I always get the generals chicken and literally every time, it's hard and crunchy and tastes like crap. I waited about 2 weeks assuming it was maybe just a bad batch, went back and ordered it again and it was th exact same! Very disappointed. This place is probably about the okay-est "Chinese Takeout" place in Newton, but their sauces are too ladened with MSG flavoring. (Newton just doesn't have any really good Chinese food, even with Panda Kitchen coming here this year from Hesston.) We've tried The Great Wall twice and they could be great, if they would just get their sauces on lock. There are several places in Wichita that have their sauces together, with the right mix of MSG and actual flavoring, so that it actually tastes good-if that is the kind of food they want to serve. They are very friendly, the food is a good portion, and they do have a nice little location on the south side of Newton, near the developments. But, unfortunately, we have to quit them to save our tummies from the sauces. :( read more

We LOVE this place, the food is great, the staff are friendly, the restaurant has always been clean when we go, The portions are large, the selection is vast, the prep is fast (even for large orders, less than 15 min. for a HUGE order made Fresh is FANTASTIC! The prices are in the mid range, not too high, but not fast food cheap either. This is by far the best Chinese in Newton and surrounding areas! We come here at least once a month & we live 40 minutes away. The staff has always been friendly and helpful! You will have a small wait time for your food but it is alway HOT, FRESH & DELICIOUS! I recommend the Pineapple Chicken & Black Pepper Chicken & definitely get the big package of Crab Rangoon (You can thank me later!)
