Food is great! The quality is great and the price is very reasonable. I usually get the Mariachi Fajita Quesadillas and either beef or chicken are excellent. I'd also recommend the Tortilla Soup, very delicious with big chucks or peppers and chicken. The Ham Flautas are amazing, the Papa Sancho, just a ton of great options. Service has always been awesome, they have a great staff and no problems with long waits. The decor is great, lots of booths and TVs as well if you're a sports fan, not just in the bar. The food has always been exceptional here. The ham flauta and cheese enchiladas are always my favorite. The food is always fresh and very authentic. If you have never had a jumbo taco try the King Taco which is as big as a dinner platter and will even come smothered with queso or chili con carne for eating with a fork. They also have a nice selection of house made margaritas. Try the jalapeño margarita, its spicy but not overly hot and it is not made everywhere. The staff is very friendly with a family feel in the dining area. The front entrance has a variety of authentic Mexican goods including sandals, hats and even real vanilla from Mexico. The food is pretty mediocre Tex Mex in my opinion, so kind of lacking in flavor and freshness. I had the entomatadas enchiladas with rice and beans. Some people in our group really liked their food though. Service was okay, but a little slow. We didn't get a refill of chips and salsa until our entrees arrived. The margaritas were good however. Think of the best meal you've ever had in your life. This was the exact opposite. First time here tonight. Ordered the Carnitas Platter, 1 Chicken Enchilada and a Sopapilla. The carnitas literally had no flavor whatsoever. None. They were chunks of unsalted, unflavored meat. The refried beans they came with were even more disgusting. I asked for no lettuce or chunks of tomato in anything but I got it anyway. The chicken enchilada is also disgusting. Loaded with chunks of chicken and large chunks of pepper. The red sauce on top looks like old, coagulated blood. All for the low low price of $30. Will never be back here when there's a Taco Bell down the street. read more

Website says Buffet $9.99, was charged $16.72 per person x 4. Showed waiter webpage advertising $9.99. Gave song and dance about website was changed and can't be corrected. Ok, fine, How about posting the price on your sign outside that says buffet Monday & Thursday, or maybe mentioning it when you ask if we are wanting the buffet, Maybe a sign on the door, or inside that says Buffet $16.72? What an odd price for a buffet, how did you come up with that? No offer to make it right. Went to pay horrendously priced bill. Man at register asks how everything was, I grunted and said not really. No response, no what was wrong, no give a darn. So yeah, terrible food. We have gone to this restaurant maybe half a dozen times in the last 17 years, each time with the hope it had improved, its been several years and we had seen or heard somewhere they had remodeled so I had high hopes. Hopes dashed. What was remodeled? Hanging up big tv's in the dining area? Just annoying. Service was fair. Food was disgusting, did not seem fresh. Customer Service is non-existent here and the manager lies, doesn't honor what he promised and is an extremely poor businessman. I ordered a vegetarian chimichanga; the menu stated mushrooms were substituted for meat. Since it was called a vegetarian item, I assumed it would also have vegetables. What I got was a tortilla filled with rice. Nothing else. When I questioned it, the manager acknowledged that it should have had mushrooms. He offered to remake it or give it to me for half price. Since my husband was nearly done eating, I opted for the half price option, added some beans and salsa and ate most of it. When the bill came, he had given a 10% discount on the one item and refused to honor the 50% off he had promised. We went back and forth several times and he chose to earn this review and lose any chance of us or anyone we talk to ever coming back over $3.32. This restaurant is an anchor establishment of my hometown and worth finding if you're passing through. They have a buffet on Mondays and Thursdays and kids eat free on Wednesdays. There's a full bar, large menu, attentive staff, quick service, vibrant decor, and importantly, good food. This is a family business serving family food. The atmosphere is social and relaxed. My family and I started going to Acapulco last summer, because it was one of the only restaurants open for dine in. Talk about a happy accident! The food was plentiful and delicious, prices reasonable, and the staff welcomed us in like family. They go the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect, and we love chatting with all of them! My husband and I particularly love the super-hot salsa. Unlike most places (that give you the bowl of reconstituted orange mystery peppers), Acapulco's is fresh, flavorful, and just plain fabulous. I ate here with my mother, who as a Latina, has been cooking Mexican food (the real deal) all of her life. She's a big fan of Acapulco, so we went for dinner during a recent visit. I have to admit, the salsa that came with the chips could have been spicier, but it was still quite tasty. I had huevos con chorizo, which came with rice, beans and a big scoop of guacamole. My food was excellent and the service was fast and friendly. The place was packed at 6:00PM on a Friday (people in Kansas apparently eat dinner early), so I assume they get a good bit of repeat business. I love Acapulco! My family has been going there since before I was born. The owner's know us by name because we are there so frequently. I love their chips, salsa, and especially the cheese dip! I'm not sure what kind of cheese they use in their food but it is the best cheese I've ever had. Period, hands down, no competition. My favourite dishes are the cheese entomatadas, bean & cheese flautas, and cheese & lettuce tacos. I know cheese & lettuce tacos sound silly, but you know they're doing something right when you can just put some shredded cheese & lettuce in a taco shell and it's a delicious meal on it's own. They also have delicious pork chile verde- and I'm not even much of a meat fan! If you're craving desert, the sopaipillas are delish. I love the buffet night they have on Mondays & Thursdays because you can enjoy a little of this, a little of that, make whatever you like however you like it. Every time I visit from out of state, this is one of the first places we hit up to eat. The only thing keeping it from being five stars is that sometimes the quality of the food can vary greatly- the last time we were there, the cheese dip was meh, which was very disappointing to me as like I said, I'm out of state so it's only a few times a year I get to indulge. We also tried the queso blanco and fried flour chips. The chips were cold and heavy. I ordered the King Size Taco with chili con carne. It's the biggest taco I've ever seen! I didn't eat any of the shell, as it was a bit greasy. Just opened it up and ate it with my fork. I added some salsa and a little queso blanco and it was goooood. That chili con carne is pretty tasty. My date for the evening ordered the Carnitas--Lean pork cooked with oranges and spices, then marinated in Acapulco's house salsa. Served with beans, rice, guacamole and tortillas. He was very impressed and even took some home with him. Check out their signature drunk...the Jarro Charro. It surprises me that this place remains as busy as it is. Over the years there seems to have been a steady decline in food quality. We go every so often, hoping that our experience will be better and regardless of what we order, we are disappointed. The food on the menu is fine, but bland. The buffet is equally lacking in flavor, but with the added bonus of also being cold. We watched as one of the staff poured store bought salsa into the buffet, which just speaks to the passion of the chefs if there isn't even the want to make salsa. Our family's favorite restaurant! We've eaten here at least once a month for over 15 years and have never once had a disappointing experience. Went here yet again because I got dragged along by others. Had the chicken mole. What a huge disappointment. The mole sauce was nowhere near authentic--gummy, bland, not even dark like it's supposed to be. The beans and rice were too salty. The guacamole was quite good though. The pico de gallo could have been a bit fresher, and lacked any punch. We ran out of chips and had to ask for more. Had to also ask for a knife. The horchata was bland too--not like I've had in other, more authentic restaurants. I wondered if it might have been a prefab mix. This place consistently fails to impress.
