**5 Stars** On Fire Bar and Grill was *fire*! The Latin cuisine is top-notch, and they offer so much more--whether you're craving street tacos, hamburgers, or even pasta, there's something for everyone. I had the street tacos for the $8.99 lunch special, and the pork was absolutely off the chain. For an appetizer, we got the Carne Asada fries, and they were to die for. The food was amazing, and the service was fast and super friendly. The vibe is really nice too--perfect spot for a chill hangout. I could definitely see us coming back just for margaritas. A hidden gem on the south end of town!

    Grilled chicken plate. So delicious.

Our food tasted amazing and we couldn't finish it all so gladly took some home. The service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone is the Newton area.

I'd also recommend the Tortilla Soup, very delicious with big chucks or peppers and chicken. The Ham Flautas are amazing, the Papa Sancho, just a ton of great options. Service has always been awesome, they have a great staff and no problems with long waits. The decor is great, lots of booths and TVs as well if you're a sports fan, not just in the bar. The Margaritas are ... meh. Not terrible but I stopped ordering them after the first couple times.

If you have never had a jumbo taco try the King Taco which is as big as a dinner platter and will even come smothered with queso or chili con carne for eating with a fork. They also have a nice selection of house made margaritas. Try the jalapeño margarita, its spicy but not overly hot and it is not made everywhere. The staff is very friendly with a family feel in the dining area. The front entrance has a variety of authentic Mexican goods including sandals, hats and even real vanilla from Mexico. If ever driving through Newton this hidden jem is worth a stop!

It is seat yourself style like most diners. They had a whole wall about Kansas/Kansas city memorabilia. They had a Joe Montana jersey , that brought back awesome self memories. Food was diner food which is expected. I got B&G half order with hash browns, I asked for extra crispy hashbrowns, they definitely weren't crispy and not extra for me. The biscuit was more on the dense side which some people like. The highlight was the sausage gravy. Smother everything. It's a cute diner and it's the option you got that is not fast food or buffet.

Lots of sports memorabilia but nothing telling us if Curtis C was an athlete or how they tied together (if they did). I had French toast and bacon. I enjoyed my FT - it appeared to be deep fried and gave it a beignet type flavor (which I love). Bacon was cooked well. Hubby had egg plate and was disappointed in that it appeared he got the end of the day's batch - many small pieces of potato, many of them burnt. Toast was cold. Eggs and bacon were OK. Our food came out quickly but no one stopped by to see how things were. Seems like a spot for regulars as many customers were greeted by name.

Dockum has both great cocktails, and great entertainment. I really like the atmosphere here every single time. It's dim, it's romantic, it's lively. Our waitress every time has been the same girl and she's fabulous and attentive. Her name is Elvia, shoutout to her! We have our favorite drinks here, but always try something new each time. Never had a bad drink here. Our favorites are: The Last Word, Dizzy Dame, Cinder and Smoke. You can't go wrong with anything you order honestly. We could sit here for a few hours. It's also a speakeasy. It's under ground, you have to knock to get in. Overall it's just a cool vibe for something downtown in Wichita. It is my favorite spot to go. If you are in town visiting or a local, I recommend this place 1000%.

When our waitress came by, we told her it was our first visit and that we needed a little time with the menu. We ordered drinks, but they came out at odd times--two arrived quickly, while the other two took noticeably longer. My husband ordered a Bijou, which is a unique cocktail, and it seemed to take a while for the bar to figure out how to make it. Still, the drinks were good once they arrived. For food, we tried the burnt ends and the JoJos. The JoJos were excellent--crispy and flavorful--but the burnt ends were disappointing, served a bit cold and lacking in flavor. Things really unraveled with our second round of drinks. Service slowed to a crawl, and we eventually learned that our waitress had been sent home by the manager even though the bar was packed on a Friday night. A young server, only two weeks into the job, was left to take over, and unfortunately, he had no idea what he was doing. Another waitress stopped by to help but admitted she usually works upstairs in the restaurant and didn't know the cocktail menu either. The shift in service quality from the first round of drinks to the second was very jarring. There was live music, but the sound system wasn't great, so it didn't add much to the atmosphere. We did order desserts from the upstairs restaurant, which were a nice finish, but by the end of the night it was clear the staff was overwhelmed. As we left, we even saw the manager outside looking exhausted, which made us feel bad for the whole team. Overall, while the drinks were solid and the JoJos worth trying, the experience was inconsistent and stressful. Maybe we just got caught up in an off night of drama, but I wouldn't recommend Dockum for more than one drink.

I wouldn't call Ol Stuga a dive bar, but I also wouldn't not call it a dive bar. It's definitely not fancy or trendy. This is not the place to get a glass of wine. (I'm not entirely sure they even have any wine.) They don't have any local beer on tap. But that's not Ol Stuga's fault -- Kansas isn't really a craft beer state, I've learned. Bud Lite and domestics are what you'll find here, mostly. One of the first things you'll notice when you walk into Ol Stuga is all of the money on the ceiling. I sat at the bar, next to a guy who seemed like a regular. I asked the guy why there were so many dollar bills stuck to the ceiling of the bar. He told me, and unfortunately for you, I don't remember what he said because there was alcohol involved. If you want to know why there is money on the ceiling of Ol Stuga, you'll just have to visit and find out for yourself. They have a few things on tap here, and I got a fruity beer from Missouri. I wanted something "local," and Missouri was the most local place that Ol Stuga had on tap. The beer was really good -- light and refreshing. Later, I told some locals that I had visited Ol Stuga, and they high-fived me and asked, "Did they treat you OK?" I was like, "Um, yeah? Why?" And they said that sometimes fights break out every once in a while. I didn't see any fights while I was there, unfortunately, but everyone at OS was great and I had a great time.
