We had a group of 9 people last night for Dinner & ALL was excellent; from the Food to friendly staff & Service. I had the Jalisco Fajitas and were EXCELLENT. I had to take 1/2 home. My Wife had the Chicken Enchiladas & were also excellent with good portions. Must be very Popular as was very busy, yet the Service & wait times for food were very good. I get it, it's a small town Mexican joint. If you don't like it - go to Wichita. But please give me a little customer service to keep me coming back. The food was good, I always like when a restaurant serves their fajitas on a sizzling plate and boy did my plate sizzle. They do give you a lot of food to enjoy. I was the only person in the entire place for a late lunch and I felt ignored. I think my server had to get going because she left my check at the front counter and it was up to me to find it. The food is great. Service is lacking. The last time my husband and I had lunch there, we were waited on right away; got our drinks and food quickly, but it was down hill from there !! They never returned to our table to see how we were doing; no beverage refills or dessert offered. We had to go to the register to retrieve our ticket, after sitting there 30 minutes first. Not crowded at all, maybe this is why. It's one thing to have slow service, but to basically be ignored I find that unacceptable. read more

Tonight their food was horrible they're cheese dip con queso was like milk runny 2% milk no taste they said wait it has to set up 45 minutes well by then it's cold with no flavor . I had been craving fajitas & a Margarita. This place hit the spot. Perfectly seasoned, sizzling beef fajitas with all the fixings. Refried beans & rice on the side. Large servings. We had to take some home. Even better the next day. The tortillas were warm & fluffy. My son had quesadillas, I think. They were good too. My Margarita needed a splash more tequila in it but I wasn't complaining. It was tasty. Wait staff was very helpful & accommodating...very pleasant. It's nice to know this place is in Valley Center. I'll go back often. It's as good as any Mexican food you'll find in Texas. read more

I'm embarrassed to admit that I had not realized Tequilas had been here in Valley Center for TWO whole years! I kept seeing reviews and ads, recognized the "Main Street" address and kept looking for it in downtown Wichita. Finally noticed the phone number and realized it was in Valley Center. Duh!! So, yea, slow on the uptake but we have been back twice now, since I started this review. It's officially on the rotation since I like their Chicken Tortilla Souo - think they called it Caldo de Pollo? We've also enjoyed their Spinach Enchiladas and Taco Carne Asada. One thing I really like (some of you "kids" won't understand this, yet...) is that the menu itself is much easier to read!! Nice dark text and headings on light background, large text, don't really need my 2.5 bifocals. It's not like some Mexican Restaurants with a pale red heading on darker background and smallish type. Might be picayune, but part of the enjoyment of picking out what to eat is reading the details, and if the menu isn't readable, welll.... So I digress but this place isn't like those others. I'm thinking they do serve some wines and beers, for those who are curious. Hope to get back soon!! read more

Very clean, wonderful meal selection, and full portions. I had the Burrito Deluxe which consisted of good sized chicken and beef burritos with the usual topping and a delicious sauce. Price was very fair and the "requested" HOT Sauce was hot and delicious. Well worth the visit! read more

The Mexican place near us was closed so we decided to drive into Valley Center to satisfy our craving and were very pleasantly surprised! I had the Grande Chimi and my wife had the Bandera Mexicana. The Chimi was fantastic; crunchy outside and smoking hot inside with steak, chorizo, and pineapple. The side guac salad was a perfect pair. My wife found a new love for the chili relleno and the rest of her dish was great as well. Service was great, free chips and salsa were delicious... would seriously consider driving in to eat here again! read more

Meals priced from about $7.50 to $15.00. Nice atmosphere, food seemed about average. We had enchiladas supreme. They were fine but nothing to write home about. The food is good. I just don't get the service part. They are a small place, family owned I believe, but the service is poor. First time visit, they were busy around dinner and I excused the waitress ignoring us and not know what types of liquor they serve after she asks what a guest wanted in their margarita. Waited forever for most of the service. Second visit, lunch time, it's empty - we are the only two customers. Different server, young boy, barely mumbles out words for our drink order. I ask to order some dip. Was almost rude because he was so disinterested in anything to do with us. She orders a margarita, here we go again, what kind of liquor he asks finally after visiting the bar and another employee. Comes back to ask which kind of tequila, she asks what kind they serve, he left. Another guy comes back who knows and she orders it. He drops the dip off without one word. Order our food to the pure look of disappointment, regret, or anger I'm not sure...he just is maybe a super depressed person. It was he worst time ever for us! He never once smiled. Not a single damn time! We were polite and she tipped him well, I wouldn't have given him much! There were no other customers on a beautiful afternoon, and this is the only restaurant in town! That says a lot there. Definitely won't be returning. There are literally hundreds of amazing Mexican restaurants a few miles away with the best attitudes and service! read more

We had an appointment across the Street -- so I talked Hubby into trying Tequila's after Our meeting. I had looked at a 'Tequila's Menu' Online. What they have is an ABBREVIATED version of that Menu. We were seated. The Staff was NOT Happy & Smiling and No One had on Name Tags (that bothers me). We ordered a couple of Margaritas 'On the Rocks; and after perusing their Menu -- we placed Our order. Hubby ordered Steak Fajitas (they didn't offer Carnitas) and an extra order of Guacamole. I ordered their Carnitas' Dinner. Everything was very Bland. The Salsa for the Chips was very Bland, the Chips were Hard & Cold and that extra Crock of Guacamole had no Flavor! I ordered their 'Carnitas Dinner' and it had 5 Chunks of very underseasoned Pork. Hubby (I know this because I used 3 and brought 2 HOME for Puppies) ordered their Steak Fajitas and said that it was a bunch of underseasoned vegetables with about 10 very small chunks of steak. The Server (whatever Her name might be), did come back to check on us once. I don't think that we will be going back there! read more

We went twice over the weekend. The hot sauce is amazing, mild is good too. I can't wait to go back. I ordered tacos both times, and a cheese enchilada to go with it. I definitely have mixed emotions about Tequilas. I stopped in after work tonight because I didn't want to cook dinner. I got the Chicken Fajita Taco Salad, which was delicious! But the wait staff was pretty rude.. I loved the salad, chips and salsa, but was not impressed by the lack of enthusiasm by the workers. read more

We have eaten here 3-4 times. Nice to eat someplace good, that you don't have to wait in line for 30 min. Food is quite good, selection is good. My only complaint would be the chips. Warm chips would be preferred, instead of cold, but the salsa is very good. This is our go to place for Mexican when we want to avoid Wichita's weekend rush hours. We had extremely poor service tonight, had to wait 15 minutes just to place our order. When the order finally arrived it was wrong. Sent the incorrect order back and then when it came, it was cold. The manager who had brought out the corrected order asked if we needed anything I gotta else, we asked for drink refilled which never came. When we went to pay and have the ticket corrected as we were NOT going to pay for that mess, the manager acted as if it didn't matter at all. We love going to our local Mexican restaurant! We always have great service and the food comes out fast and fresh! We are big queso lovers and they don't let you down in that department either! My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is so, so good, priced very fairly. We always have great service with the exception of maybe one or two times when they were extremely busy. It's nice to have an authentic Mexican food restaurant so close to home. They have a big party room in the back, and the staff were very helpful as I was setting everything up. Had not been here for awhile. I had the Camarones Tequila which was excellent. The sauce they came up with is very tasty. My wife had the Mexican quesadillas which she thought was excellent also. I had the top shelf margarita which I did not care for. Ok, ok, I did drink the whole 27 ounces...but I didn't order another one...that's unheard of if you ask my wife! Probably my choice for the top shelf tequila was not smart. We will definitely go back again and the waitress was a very pleasant young lady too! read more
