Tacos Y Mas is an authentic, small Mexican restaurant. Food is fine. Problem is the noise. Not only is a child of the staff loudly blaring an electronic game 10' from you, but the television in the sitting area is on maximum volume. It is so bad that hearing anything else is difficult. The reviews are correct, there is a lengthy wait time here. Is it worth it? Not really. I had the chicken fajitas. They weren't served on a sizzling plate but did come out covered in grease. So I guess that's good? If you have to use the restroom it might be best to find another place. I had to do some creative maneuvers in the back hall to get there. read more

I would not recommend this place unless ownership changes. I came here twice and was overcharged both times in regards to the tip that was processed. The service tends to be on the slow side, even when the restaurant is empty. If you have gone here recently, I would suggest checking your online statements, if you paid with a card. I had the chicken huarache & the chicken was so flavorful and moist! I'd never had a huarache before but I think it's now my favorite Mexican food item! Very very good! I had thirty minutes to get food before work. I wanted tacos and this place was the first one I saw as I was driving to my workplace. I didn't see any cars in front of the establishment which gave me hope that I would get my food a lot quicker than usual. I quickly parked my car and walked in. I saw a lady behind the counter so I walked up to her and told her it was my first time there and that I wanted tacos. She didn't understand me, so I repeated myself. Communication issues made the process longer than necessary, but that did not bother me at all. English was not my first language either. After getting my order down, she walked back behind the counter and into the kitchen. I had to seat myself. The lady came back with a basket of tortilla chips and two bottles of salsa (mild and hot). I ate the chips and looked around. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. The colorful walls and tables along with the background music made me feel as if I had traveled to Mexico. Great atmosphere. Approximately six minutes later, the lady returned with my food. I got two soft tacos: barbacoa and steak sans rice/beans. The barbacoa taco smelled great. The taste was so-so. It was rather bland. I've had better. The steak taco, on the other hand, smelled a bit off-putting. I gave it a try anyway. The initial bite wasn't anything special. As far as the food goes I would say the tacos were so so. I had the barbacoa and the carne asada street tacos. Pretty good flavored meat but the meat was a little dry. Tortillas we're warm and moist and came with plenty of onion and cilantro. One thing I did not enjoy was the stale chips. They had probably been sitting under the heat lamp all morning or from the day before. Another issue with the place wAs a very long wait for a to go order. How long does it take to put 6 tacos together and some chips and queso? I waited about thirty minutes. There were even people that showed up after me that got their food first. Tacos are great. Street style, small doubled up corn tortillas with lots of onion and cilantro. They offer many dishes and meats including lingua. Menu is the same as la posada, the previous tenant. If you ask, you can order some things that dont appear on the menu. My fajitas were very good, I got quite a bit for $12. Service was spotty. My waitress really seemed like she had a better place to be that particular day. Seated myself, then had to wait until the gentlemen across the aisle were finished ordering before I got any menus. I also had to ask her as she walked by for silverware and plates after my food had arrived. However, even though being the only waitress there, she was quick to refill chips and drinks, and to bring out the food. We ordered a chicken chimichanga, beef enchiladas and a couple of grilled beef tacos. The bill was a little over $21 which is not too bad. Everything was a little salty. Grilled beef was very chewy and kind of weird. My chicken chimi was so salty that I only ate a little bit and threw away the rest. This time the waitress was a little better, but now buy much. She first told us I was going to pay $10 for adding rice and beans to my 4 tacos $2 each. And then it turn out she meant to say $10.99. My husband got a torts for $5.99 and it turn out to be $7.00. So our bill was $21, she even told me it's so high because we charge tax, you know tax right? Really? My husband and I wanted to try a new restaurant, and since this place is beside the fabulous Churn and Burn, we thought we'd see if we could get two homeruns in a row. But this was a huge strike out. It was our date night, and we arrived with 50 minutes until we had to pick up our son from his grandpa's house. Seemed like a reasonable amount of time, since the menu had only quick-to-make items on it (I cook a lot for my family and have made everything that was on the rather limited menu at home). So we seated ourselves, as a sign at the door told us to, and waited. Around ten minutes later, just as I was asking my husband if we were supposed to get our own menus as well, our waitress appeared for the first time. The place is not that large, so I am not sure what took so long, but it did seem she was the only waitress there, so maybe that was why. She brought us menus, and took our orders for water to drink. Around ten minutes later, she came back with water and chips and salsa. The chips were odd; they were more chewy than crunchy, and left a nasty after taste. The sauces that came with them were odd as well; they were liquid with no texture. The mild one tasted like a blandly flavored tomato sauce, and the green one was just hot, but didn't have a pleasant flavor to add to the spice. About ten minutes later, the waitress appeared yet again, and took our orders. I was getting a little worried about time, but we ordered items that were easy and quick to prepare. I expected the food in ten minutes or less, based on other restaurant experiences, as well as my own cooking experience. Twenty minutes later, we had to go. We asked the waitress about our orders, thinking we could take them "to go" after waiting for nearly an hour, but she seemed to indicate that the cook hadn't started preparing the food yet. So since we couldn't wait any longer, we left without tasting anything but nasty chips and bland tomato sauce, and having wasted a night out. We will definitely not be back. read more
