I saw a culvers nearby, then spotted this chinese buffet from the road. It's in the 'mall'. They have a Radio Shack, and lots of crafty stuff. Anyway, the buffet was suprisingly busy for 1:40pm on Thursday. That's a good sign. All the items were good, I didn't have a bad bit of anything. A few items were quite tasty. Service was typical non-involvment style of most chinese buffets. Dislikes: Sugar on the peanut sauce chicken? no thanks, really. I couldn't find the hot mustard, then was shown the packets of 'kari out' mustard. What? That stuff is such crap. It's so cheap to mix up hot mustard. I'm bordering on three stars b/c of this. No Sriracha, but they did have hot chili oil. Overall, it fit my expectations and needs, and I left with a satisfied belly. Plus: You can shop, eat, then shop.

Checked out their menu and saw that they had hibachi dining, but they also had a menu to order from. When I walked in, I only found a few large hibachi tables, but no individual tables. Because I was by myself I really wasn't too interested in joining a group of people. So I asked someone if they had individual dining, where I could order off the menu. He said yes, and asked if I'd like to sit at the bar. The bar was small, maybe had four or five seats. I sat down and was given a menu. I sat there for 10 minutes, never got a water or had anybody come over to take my order. So I left! As far as I could tell, I think they only had three people working. All three of them at one time or another, during my 10 minute visit, were behind the bar mixing drinks. None of them addressed me in anyway. Point to this review, I'm sure the foods good. But not sure if this is a place for the non-hibachi crowed. Especially the individual diner.

I ordered the Mushu Poke Bowl and the Philadelphia roll. I took my beeper and sat down. I waited about 15 minutes for my food to come out. The poke bowl appears small, but the bowl is deep. It comes with raw tuna, seaweed salad, lettuce or rice, spicy mayo, avocado, cucumbers, squid salad and ponzu sauce. It was really good and filling! The Philly roll was a normal Philly roll and was good. The menu has some fun items also like bubble tea and a variety of Asian food. My biggest issue was that everything came out all at once. Soup, Roll and Meal was too much all at once. But I guess that's what you give up with this style of cafeteria ordering. Overall the sandwich was pretty good and the chicken was moist. I appreciated the ciabatta bun that it was on so that it could absorb some juices without being too soggy to hold. I will say the sandwich did benefit with some mustard that I added when we got home. We also ordered the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and soda. This was an upcharge, but worth it for the onion rings. They were nice and crispy and didn't feel overly greasy. The burger was juicy and well proportioned.
