This is a small restaurant in a small town. I've been stopping here with my boys for many years. Today the boys and my daughter, Madison are all heading to Chicago. We stopped in and we all got a host of great food. It was mostly chicken but some shrimp too. Veggies. Good desserts all the way around. Soup. I don't know if we caught the place on a bad day or what, but we did not have a good experience at all. The place seemed fairly busy for a Saturday with both take out and folks eating in for the buffet, you would think that would be a good sign. The buffet's protein options mostly had like 90% vegetables and very little of the protein. The food was not cold but definitely not hot. We didn't see any white rice and the fried rice was different. The restaurant seemed clean and was well staffed. Again, it might have been just a bad day for them. read more

A pleasant surprise True gem in Black River Falls Spendy, but tasty Matt G found this place on Yelp on our way down to Madison when we were looking for some lunch. Have to admit I was skeptical. Didn't think you could get decent Chinese food out in the boondocks. I was wrong. Three buffet stations with some items that were real standouts. The dumplings were fantastic. Stuffed shrimp was super tasty (think it was shrimp with egg foo young). Dynasty shrimp were kinda small, but great flavor. Crab cream cheese wontons were also delish. It was a little spendy at $11.99 considering most AYCE Chinese Restaurants in the Twin Cities are under ten dollars. However, it does include your beverage. Would gladly spend that amount for something similar in the Twin Cities. read more

Yum! The outside of this restaurant is deceiving, it might not look great on the outside but inside it is much better. The food was hot and fresh, they kept everything well stocked, the service was prompt, and the restaurant itself was very clean. A couple dishes I didn't care for but that is just personal taste. Very nice American Chinese Buffet. Typical offerings on the buffet and a typical menu to order off of if you wish to do so. I ordered the chicken wings off the menu and had the buffet as well. The wings where nicely cooked but lacked in flavor. The buffet was fresh and everything was not warm but hot. The family that runs this place are all very nice and hard working. The only thing I wish I could of had was authentic Chinese food but I didn't see any indication of a secret menu that some places offer. I would go back if I was in the area. read more

Best. [Americanized] Chinese. Food. Ever. This has been a staple in my life, and to the BRF community, since its inception when I was a kid, starting out as a simple small carry-out place, but killing it in quality. Since I have moved, I have spent nine years in Madison trying to find anywhere comparable to no avail. It is a must-stop every time I go back home to visit. Their buffet selection is really quite good, and sometimes I do enjoy having the variety to choose from, but I usually just ask for my classic takeout order, which they STILL remember, no joke, all these years later, even though I only make it in a couple times a year now. The owners are the kindest people, and they have really put their heart into making this restaurant fantastic and consistent. I know you might not believe that some chinese restaurant can really be THAT good, but I promise you - it is. I don't think there's anything you could go wrong ordering here, but my personal favorites are the Chicken/Broccoli, Hunan Beef, Black Pepper Chicken, and the best homemade Crab Rangoon and Roast Pork Egg Roll, hands down. read more

This is only the 2nd Yelp review I've ever written, as normally I do not take the time to do this even when the meal/restaurant is great. However, after stopping at Oriental Kitchen on my drive from Wisconsin back to the Twin Cities tonight, I could not wait to hop on and share how delicious their food is! I consider myself a Chinese food connoisseur as it is one of my favorite cuisines and I must say, their shrimp egg foo young was the best I have ever had in my life. Large portion, big shrimps and many of them, and the most amazing gravy that was so good I had to get extra to take home. I wish this place wasn't 2 hours from my home as I assure you I would be a regular customer. If you are considering trying Oriental Kitchen, do it! You will not he sorry. The best tasting soups and selection of soups! Delicious and always piping hot! I live in the area so I order takeout often. I recommend the hot and sour soup. The steamed or fried dumplings are also amazingly delicious! I almost always order the shrimp lo mein, shrimp egg roll, dumplings and soup. When I order take out, even though it takes me 20 minutes to drive home with my food, it is ALWAYS hot and delicious. You can even order takeout on the beyond menu app. Makes it very convenient and easy to browse the menu and make special requests. Awesome. read more

Went there while in black river falls. Based on reviews thought we'd give oriental kitchen a try. Got there when they open so food was fresh. But the beef in the beef hunan was tough, the egg drop soup was greasy. And the eggs rolls we not much to be desired. I will pass on this place next time we are in the area. read more
