We were out of towners and this was a tasty restaurant. The service was friendly. The food was delicious and different than what was around our home town. Highly satisfied. read more

Fried rice, lo mein, troll, wonton soup all great!!! General tso's chicken a bit dry. Overall pleasantly tasty:)

I've eaten at Peking in Rhinelander most of my life and the food has been really good. However, I ordered Orange Chicken on 9/1 and it was terrible. The chicken was VERY dry and seemed old. I'm not sure what is happening, but it appears the food quality has really gone downhill. I've had a few bad experiences over the past 3-5 years or so... not sure what has changed. read more

Outstanding food, outstanding service. I have seldom enjoyed a Chinese (or any) dinner as much as this one. We made the 30-mile trip from Minocqua and intend to do it again soon. Try the Happy Famoly, you won't regret it. read more

Definitely a nice find, don't let the outside dissuade you from visiting. Pretty traditional American-Chinese food. Service was excellent. Good portion sizes. Cost seemed to be average to a little above, but not unreasonable for the cost of everything today. Small parking lot in front with more parking behind. We will definitely visit again. read more

Outstanding service! Delicious beef with broccoli and sizzling shrimp! Very reasonable prices. Wine is just so-so, but the food is worth the trip. read more

I ordered General Tso's chicken and pork fried rice. Definitely a red flag that they told me the carryout order would be ready in 10 minutes. I can't imagine how they could prepare that in 10 minutes. The pork fried rice had chicken in it, so I guess they messed that up. Although it was definitely the better of the two dishes. The General Tso's chicken was gross, one out of five stars, would not eat again. The texture was off, it was overcooked, and the sauce was horrendously sweet and syrupy. The few little morsels of overcooked, limp broccoli were shameful. I'd rather have gas station food than this again, much better value and at least toronados are reliable. read more

Peking was a pleasant surprise! I tried go a couple times but they was take out only. I finally got a chance to dine in. General tso chicken could be spicier but given the area I understand. Seafood basket was amazing lots of seafood an the noodle basket was edible. read more

Sesame chicken was absolutely terrible. Don't think the chicken was even fried it was so slimey. Beef fried rice was also on the same level. Stay far far away. read more

Stopped here for dinner and it was so good. We'll be back again and again. Best Chinese in the Northwoods.

Ordered fried rice with extra beef 3 times over the course of 2 weeks. Price went up over $1.50 each new time I ordered. Last visit I paid almost $20 for a $11 order or fried rice with a few extra pieces of beef. Was up charged almost 70% of original price. Shady read more

I went here recently for nostalgic purposes. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants as a kid. The decor looked exactly the same and it brought up some nice memories. I have to admit the food was just okay (not bad, just not as good as I remembered), but the prices were unbeatable. We had three adults and two children in our party. After ordering two lunch specials, rice, a few orders of crab rangoon, and soup, our total was just over $20. To me, it was totally worth it. We all went home full and had extra food to spare. read more

When I dine here, which is a few times a year, I always dine in because I live far enough away that take-out would get cold by the time I get home. The food is good quality, and seemingly very fresh. I had a dish marked "spicy," and it was was moderately spicy; I could have used more, or hot sauce on the table to add. What I most objected to was the background music, which was the same song played over and over. It was "It Is Well (With My Soul)," played by piano and cello. Pretty at first, but eventually very irritating and incongruous. read more

They are OPEN for business with great "distancing" protection in place. Stop in or call in an order,,,very SAFE (ingenious) pick up system. And of course,,delicious food !!!!! read more

This restaurant has 3 stars on Yelp right now and that was my expectation coming in, but I completely agree with every other 5 star review on here. Our servers were friendly, humorous, and attentive. The restaurant was very clean, though a little empty when we walked in. My sister said it's the best Lo Mein she's ever had and my chicken and broccoli was great as well. read more

Having grown up in the Chicago suburbs, I've tried quite a few Chinese restaurants, and the food here ranks right up there with the best of 'em. Had a small issue with the temperature of the food, but it definitely wasn't anything that'll keep me from coming back. After a bowl of hot'n'sour soup, a couple egg rolls with the house hot mustard, and the "House Special Beef" dish, I left a very satisfied customer. read more

If I could give it a negative rating I would. I found a bandaid in my food tonight!! The owners will not do anything to rectify this except "get me a new one". This is absolutely a HEALTH HAZARD! read more

Food isn't horrible for northern Wisconsin Chinese food, but the Lo mein had the color of beef stroganoff and chicken fried rice was not worth taking leftovers home. Also, the food smelled troubling. I will not be returning; the egg rolls were KwikTrip-quality. Sweet and spicy soup was actually pretty good. read more

What happened? I have loved this place for decades! Went there in August and the egg roll was not the same- NOT good. Chicken with broccoli was not the same- terrible! I now live out of state but my mother also said it was different. I mean I guess it's a step above the buffet, but still... read more

Sigh...who would have ever thought that you'd find the best Chinese food in America in Rhinelander, Wisconsin? Granted I am biased as I grew up on Peking, but I have been to Chinatowns in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Washington DC and I still have yet to find Chinese food as good as Peking. Living in Chicago now, I have tried about 20 different local Chinese places, hoping that they match up to legacy of Peking. Not even close. With authentic decor, fast service, and the best hot and sour soup you will ever try, Peking is a jewel of the Northwoods. read more

It's actually quite sad that an ownership change in mid 2018 turned this from one of the best places in town to one of the worst. I used to be a regular and have tried several times to get redemption but it is clear that their food standards are now very low. Take note of recent reviews compared to the older ones. It is clearly old, reheated food and after stopping there last night got sick from the food. It has gone from great to not good to dangerous. I'm done. Seriously don't eat here. read more

Used to be great. Heard there was an ownership change in the last year, which explains the quality tanking. Beef and broccoli sometimes has an odd taste. The chicken is chewy and gross. read more

I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. In truth it went through a few rough years during a change of ownership but now it is back under the original family. Their pepper steak is unmatched and I recommend the two flavored beef and chicken. I now live in a large city with many Chinese restaurants and u can't find an egg roll that comes close to those at Peking. When I get in to town, one of the first things I do is head over to Peking. You should too! read more

Got the standard: Gen Tso's. The chicken was monstrous chunks of fried chicken in a nonspicy (I specifically asked for spicy) sauce w/ some limp non-Chinese broccoli squished/drowning at the bottom. And this is the "good" Chinese place (out of 2) in town. Here from out-of-state for work & won't be back. Seating inside is cheek to jowl and the take-out area is pitifully small. This place needs a renovation - or new building - in the worst way. Parking is abysmal as well. read more

I had lunch today at Peking. Service was good the food however was over the top!!!! I ordered sechuan shrimp and shrimp eggfu young, also had hot and sour soup, along with eggroll and crab rangoons. The food was amazing! Plenty of food to take home too.. I will definitely be suggesting to others to go there they will not be disappointed!!! read more

My wife and I had dinner at Peking today. The employees were very friendly and courteous and the restaurant was clean. Our order came quickly and the food was excellent. We will go there again when we are in the Rhinelander area! read more

This is a great Chinese restaurant! Generous portions of fresh, hot food with an attentive server. Never had to ask for ice tea refills. We will definitely go back. read more

new owners have changed a few menu items & I'm saddened that most are not for the better. Eggrolls are worse, Gen Tsao chicken used to be nice, big chunks of white meat, now are small dark meat with poor flavor. Many other small changes are going to ruin an established business. Very sad to see another great staple of Rhinelander go down the tubes due to cheap ownership read more

First timers eating here and the food was fabulous. We had the sesame chicken and the beef and snow peas. Both dishes were excellent. Service is really fast. Egg drop soup was also great. Would definitely recommend this place to others. If you see something on the menu that is spicy and would like it plain you just have to ask. read more

I am absolutely livid with Peking. After finding a huge piece of cartilage in my beef & broccoli (by wedging it firmly between my molars - I can't get the cartilage out!) I requested that particular item be taken off of my bill. That is when all the fun started. No one speaks more than a few words of English, so I tried to explain what cartilage is - and got a run around that none of their flank steak ever has cartilage or bone - except they do and I handed over my nice big chunk of it. No one would do anything - I can't have an item listed for $8.75 removed. I really hope that the $8.75 I requested be removed from the bill is worth the loss of a sale totaling $47.65 (after I initiate a charge back at my bank) and the amount of bad business I am giving them. The after taste of Chinese mixed with massive amounts of blood from my murdered gums is not a pleasant combination. Needless to say, Peking will never be receiving my business again. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. read more

Great service! Crab Rangoon is amazing! We have always had great food here. Portions are generous.

Food and service has always been fantastic over 25 years. I've been to Chinese restaurants all over the US and have not been to a single one with food better than this restaurant. I read the previous reviews that rated this restaurant lower than 2 stars. One girl got meat stuck in her teeth. Come on! Don't eat meat if you can't stand it getting stuck in your teeth. Another user, Gene "nothardtoplease" B., wanted to taste their soups before buying them and throws a hissy fit when he can't. Really? I wish I could try every menu item before I decide on one. read more

Stopped in for lunch today; I had the sweet and sour chicken and hubby had shrimp chow mein lunch specials. Food was just meh; the only veggies in the sweet and sour chicken was carrots. I found one microscopic piece of pineapple and one small slice of water chestnut...no green peppers and onions which are usually standard. Stingy with the rice, too. At $5.50, price not bad, but now that we have tried it, doubt we'll return. read more

Fast food, great service, and good lunch prices. Had the beef with vegetables which was very tasty.

My husband and I are ones to go to Chinese buffets, but decided to give Peking a try. We were thoroughly impressed with our meals everything was very tasty. Service was great too. Even though they were pretty busy with to go orders and there were quite a few people in the restaurant. We will be back no doubt about it. read more

When in Rhinelander, we make a trip to Peking. For the Northwoods, their dishes are very good. But yesterday, I tried Fuzon Chicken for a change. Among the ingredients is crabmeat. What came on the plate was imitation crabmeat ( aka monkfish/shark meat ). Unfortunately, I won't be ordering anything from their menu that has crabmeat as an ingredient, on future visits. read more

Best Chinese food option in Northern Wisconsin by far, and one of the best places to eat in Oneida County, period. Good for dining or carrying out. I love their hot and sour soup and the crab ragoons. I recommend the pepper steak, broccoli with garlic sauce, or the pepperada chicken. Always had good, quick service. Thumbs up, Peking! read more

Will never go back! Granted we are used to choices from the Waukesha area but have never came across chinese this bad. Tasteless fried rice with steamed pork, peas and carrots. Egg fu yung with cabbage???? Imagine that limp mess. No brown gravy, came with some kind of oyster sauce concoction. Picked out the shrimp and threw the remainder in the garbage. Crab rangoon was tough but flavor ok. After leaving we realized we were overcharged by at least $5.00. read more
