Used to eat here years ago but hadn't been in the area again until recently. Loved it years ago and still do. Lots of choices in the main food area to choose from and everything was good. A little skimpy on the desserts but I mainly go for the main dishes so that's not an issue for me. The place is large with plenty of seating and it's appeared clean each time I've been there. My son was with me and this was his first time. He LOVED it. We will be back soon. read more

Best food I've had, people were very friendly. This one waitress was really nice and always picking up our empty plates and cups and asking if we have any problems. Overall I loved this place and it wasn't even that expensive as some buffets I know. I would recommend. read more

I was quite impressed for a small town having a very clean and well stocked buffet with plenty of fresh food at lunch on 10/18/2021, a Monday. I was greeted promptly and pleasantly by the woman tending to the front entrance, dining room and who spent plenty of time keeping the buffet area cleaned and presentable. I also observed her being pleasant the whole time as others came and went. I thoroughly enjoyed tasting a majority of the items, though couldn't possibly try everything. I was determined to write this review and post photos after arriving and seeing this was much nicer than I expected from reading some rude reviews that didn't seem accurate to me. I hope others patronize this place as a small town's businesses need support to keep going. I'm only visiting the area, and almost didn't go here to China Buffet in Antigo, due to reading the bad reviews, but asked one person who said it seemed good to them, so I went, and glad I did. Very pleasantly surprised! *update- I wrote the above while there after eating, but as leaving I spoke to the woman, and she explained they were new owners for less than 6 months. So, ignore older bad reviews. read more

As a chinese myself I find the food not up to par. But There's limited options in antigo and for $11 with tips included for 1 person all you can eat then this place is good for your bucks. I been eating here quite often for the veggies and proteins. Not much options in antigo. read more

IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO CHINA BUFFET IN ANTIGO FOR A WHILE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GIVE THEM ANOTHER TRY. Wow has this place changed. The food and friendliness are so much improved. They offer hot, tasty food all day parts and there is a friendly person working now. No children there waiting for their working parent and running around being obnoxoius. Definately a welcome change in Antigo..5 stars could have definately been more. read more

You are better off spending extra money for gas to drive out of town for Asian food, buy frozen and make it yourself or choose a different cuisine at most of our other local restaurants. Staff is unfriendly. Food on the buffet is usually old and barely warm. Cost is always higher than anticipated. :-( read more

I'm new to the area and will be soon working right next door to China buffet... we decided to stop in and check it out since we're pretty big fans of Chinese food. The waitress that seated us seemed like she just hated her job and was pretty rude in general. The food was underwhelming to say the least. The food was cold, someone else must've complained because when we went to see what else they had put out, all of the sauces were boiling. Probably will not be back. UPDATE: we've ordered a handful of times for takeout, the food is much better than the buffet but the service is still awful. Anytime I call I end up talking to three different people before a guy comes on and is so rude. He doesn't tell you how long it'll be and then hangs up. I've gone to pick up the food and 97% of the time the order is completely wrong or they'll charge me for the more expensive option, which is fine, but never what I order. It also doesn't seem like they have any sort of air conditioning in there as it's always sweltering. read more

Food seemed like it was sitting a while. The sauces were discusting. There was a mysterious yellow thick sauce that about made me throw up after seeing it. I couldn't eat anymore after seeing that. I came here years ago it was always good was in town and decided to go, will not go back. Hoping myself and my family does not get sick. We'll see later tonight. read more

It was one of the worst dining experiences ever! Cold, rubbery food and LOUSY service--rude and uncaring!

We stopped for dinner- the waitress seated us and got our drinks- she then went on break or somewhere- the next waitress came out talking on her cellphone. She sat behind the counter picking her nose and wiping on her jeans- I was pretty much done eating then! So I watched and she waited on a lady who came in for a to-go and seated two guys- the whole time still talking on her phone. Went into kitchen to fill another to go order. Don't think she ever washed her hands! My husband had to get up and refill his own soda. No tip for you!!! read more

Stopped in for lunch and was quite taken back with the number of choices they had. What I liked most was they had the portions small enough so that everything was fresh even though they are not serving a 100 people an hour. My wife and I ate at the buffet yesterday. When we walked in I noticed that the water bath under the food was turned on high because you could hear it boiling and steam was visible the whole length of the buffet. We went in at 12:30 expecting fresh cooked dishes. I first got egg drop soup but noticed not a lot of egg strands and appearance gave suspicions of two much food coloring. I grabbed a plate and got long green beans, peanut chicken, potstickers, and chicken broccoli in garlic sauce. The food was luke warm. The peanut chicken was tough. I didn't have a knife and could not bite off bite size pieces so I put the whole pieces in mouth and chewed them up. They were also luke warm. The broccoli tasted really old and not fresh in the garlic sauce. Half way through the meal I felt I was eating left overs from the previous day. As trays emptied they replenished from the kitchen but I did not sample any of those dishes to verify freshness. Some visits have been good but this one I lost my trust and gained sucpiction of food safe risks. The steamers on high, food taste temperature and toughness texture of meat was evidence to confirm my suspicions. read more
