We chose to visit Yen Hing Dragon Restaurant. The interior is a little dated, but this is typical of small town restaurants. It's obviously family run. Seating is a combination of booths and tables and chairs. The menu is pretty large and there's something for everyone. We went with the House Special fried rice, a lunch special of Sichuan Spicy Chicken (lunch special with hot and sour soup and an egg roll), an order of crab rangoon, an iced tea and a water. $29 and change before tip. The food came out after a very short wait. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted good. Our server was very attentive. If you're passing through Waukon give these guys a shot. We were pleasantly surprised and left happy.

So glad we tried it out. My husband said it was the best General Tao chicken he has ever had. His egg drop soup was so-so. I had off the lunch menu the 3 delicacies which consisted of shrimp, beef and chicken in a savory sauce. I opted for the chicken wing for my appetizer and the hot and sour soup. A bowl of crispy noodles was set on the table to accompany the soups. My soup was good but I've had better. My chicken wing was exceptional and so was my main entree. Restaurant is very clean and women's bathroom is huge. We would not hesitate to come back here if we are passing by at the right lunch/dinner time.

It's almost like little tiny cous cous-shaped things. The portions were large and I was definitely full afterward. Maybe the actual order of fried rice is better? If I ordered from here again I would have it with the white rice. Anyways, the egg roll was a standard egg roll, tastes like any frozen egg roll. I ordered an appetizer of the teriyaki chicken and it was pretty terrible. I definitely would not order it again. It honestly did not even taste like chicken. It was pretty dry too. The website is a disaster. It's slow to load and looks like it's an Angelfire website from 1998. That could use some work, but I haven't found many Chinese restaurants with well functioning websites.. Although the review sounds pretty negative, it was a standard Chinese restaurant with okay food. I would try other places in La Crosse but would order something from here again too.

If…read morethere aren't many cars, there aren't many customers and that's a signal of a not so good place to eat. However, I discovered this place is TO-GO only. That changes things. No wonder there aren't a lot of cars there Yelp reviews were pretty good so i gave it a try. I must say I am impressed. I have eaten there three times in 10 days. It's easy. It's fast and it's good. Service is always friendly and helpful. The ambience is what you'd expect from a To-Go place. And the food is very good. Was there just yesterday and there was a steady stream of cars in and out; people who called their order in or ordered online. Me? I'm still new to this place so I enjoy walking in and deciding what I want. You can see into the kitchen a bit and see how fast and efficient they are working on different orders.
