There was tiny sharp pieces of plastic in our food. We had 4 meals, it wasn't cheap by any means! The lo main had the plastic and there were these third size of a toothpick also. At first thought it might have come from opening the container but the plastic lids were all intact! Not sure we're these please of wood came from. Someone suggested it might be bone from chicken, I don't know but will NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. Far too dangerous. Oh I did call and they did nothing! read more

I get the lunch special or dinner special. My favorite is the sesame chicken or the chicken and mushrooms. The prices are actually really good and portions are generous. Best in town food-wise, but kinda lacking in other areas. They give you plastic silverware (which I personally despise) and everything used to be served in styrofoam (which I also dislike) but since they switched to plastic containers, it's much better. Yum Yum Yum, I got to admit the Veggies and tofu were amazing here! It's all I ever had, but this food was great! Easily the best Chinese food I have ever had served on paper plates! The service was so so, I had to ask multiple times for a cup of water and it never got refilled.. And the bathrooms left a lot to be desired. I'm writing an update and I hate to give a lower score, because the employees here are still extremely friendly and the food is always delivered and prepared very quickly. However since writing my first review, the quality of the food has gone downhill and the prices have skyrocketed. The last two times that we ordered food, we paid extra to have the food prepared spicy. I even wrote in the note, "Please make the food so hot that my wife cries when she eats it." We've never tasted blander food. We will probably not order from here anymore because there is better competition in the area now. read more

The food is decent. I had the orange chicken which had a good flavor. The fried rice the chicken came with did not really look like real rice. It's almost like little tiny cous cous-shaped things. The portions were large and I was definitely full afterward. Maybe the actual order of fried rice is better? If I ordered from here again I would have it with the white rice. Anyways, the egg roll was a standard egg roll, tastes like any frozen egg roll. I ordered an appetizer of the teriyaki chicken and it was pretty terrible. I definitely would not order it again. It honestly did not even taste like chicken. It was pretty dry too. The website is a disaster. It's slow to load and looks like it's an Angelfire website from 1998. That could use some work, but I haven't found many Chinese restaurants with well functioning websites.. Ordered delivery while staying at the Hampton Inn downtown. Delivery was fast. Sesame Chicken was delicious. Fried donuts were yummy.

The rice isn't even fully cooked. It tastes like it was cooked in old oil. We got the wrong sides and I've never seen dark fried rice, like it looks almost black. And the customer service was shoddy. read more

The food here is horribly sub par. My wife and I ordered take out orange and sesame chicken respectively, and they were both bland. Their fried rice is the worst either of us have had. The final nail in the coffin was that the egg drop soup had cigarette ashes in it. It smelled so awful, and was totally discolored. I've been a frequent customer for almost 12 years now. Keep on coming back for more, because their food is always freshly prepared, service is lightening fast (though sometimes not so fast during lunch & dinner "rush"), and everything I've ever eaten there is fabulous. Wish they still offered the fried Chicken Wings, but that I'm disappointed they discontinued that menu item is the only negative thing I can say about them. I wanted to handle it discretely and just get my money back for the food since I wouldn't be going back anyways and the woman (owner?) spoke very rudely on the phone to me, and said I got myself sick and her food was always "hot". I placed an order for delivery at 5:30pm and was told 30-40 minutes. Dinner around 6pm sounds great!? We have a four year old and a mom who just had a baby. Dinner arrived around 7:15, and that was after 5-6 phone calls trying to track down the driver and find out what happened. The cashew chicken was fine, but I got curry beef, broccoli and onion. I ordered food here while on military orders at fort McCoy, they were swamped that night so delivery took about two hours, not a big deal considering the circumstances. However, the delivery driver never called me to let me know that my food was on the way like I had requested, and he needed up giving my food away to someone else that had ordered from the same restaurant. They let someone else sign for my credit card and gave away over $60 worth of food without confirming the identity of their customer. I was lucky enough to be outside making a phone call and over heard the people that received my food discussing the fact that the order was not theirs. I tried calling the restaurant at least 20 times since then and I can not get ahold of them. This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant in La Crosse! The food is very good and fresh tasting. There's a huge variety. The only thing I would change is that they do not have egg fu young. Wrong entre was brought to me with delivery. I called to have the situation remedied.The woman on the phone made me explain the problem 3 times. I had to insist on the correct entre being delivered. No apology from her. The original delivery person stopped back to retrieve the wrong food, no apology from him either. This was our go-to Chinese restaurant in La Crosse up until we moved about a year ago. Since then, we haven't found anything that compares to the food quality that we used to enjoy at Great Wall. We usually ordered for delivery and never had a problem with our order showing up on time. This little restaurant has fantastic food. You can watch them cook the food in the kitchen while you order. I think most of their business is take out. We just happened to find them when we walking down the street in downtown La Crosse. The dine in experience is very simple, paper plates and soda in a can. The food was terrific, low priced and delicious. We ordered lo mein and orange chicken. The lo mein was recommended to us a by a couple sitting next to us. The woman exclaimed it is the best lo mein she has ever had. We also had egg drop soup and spring rolls. The only food I would not order again was the spring roll, it was more like an egg roll and was very small. I would definitely order take out from this restaurant again. read more
