We enjoyed the calamari and ordered another. The artichoke dip was average. Nothing special. Good, though. We all ordered the lasagna. Very generous portion. Nice thick sauce with lots of cheese. Meh. Pretty flacid food. Very "chain" like. The Chicken Marsala was hugely forgettable. The flatbread pizza was pretty good though. If you want actual Italian food, I would (amazingly) suggest Olive Garden. The Calamari is great at Olive Garden and their salad is exceptional!!!!! read more

Great Italian restaurant. Had it all, great service, great music and great food! Sat at the bar and was really impressed with the service. I was literally in and out in about a half an hour! Ordered a salad and entree... salad was out in minutes (and was the best part of my meal ... highly recommend the Walnut Gorgonzola Salad). Once i finished that, my main corse was on its way out. I was traveling alone for work, so I was pretty happy to to have a quick, good meal. The whole time I got to listen to a playlist of all of the greats that need to be on at every Italian restaurant... Martin, Sinatra and Bennett. Menu was not huge, but it had more than enough to chose from. Plus, I would rather a restaurant make a fewer number of dishes well,than a whole bunch of mediocre ones. Winner. read more

I remember when Madison, WI had a Ciatti's restaurant back in the day, so I was excited to find one in La Crosse. We were visiting for only one night and this the restaurant I chose to visit. It was as good as I remember it. Upon arrival we were promptly seated, our server, Holly, was very attentive and friendly. Drinks were ordered and soon arrived along with warm breadsticks -- they are sooooooo........ good. For starters I ordered the Caesar salad which has tomatoes, olives and egg which is not traditional but was extremely good. My husband ordered the pasta fagioli soup. It was delicious. Both starters were big enough to share. For entrees we chose chicken fettuccine with vegetables in a Parmesan cream sauce and mostaccoli with contains Italian sausage, mushrooms, onion, tomato sauce covered in mozzarella cheese and baked until golden brown. Both portions were very large and scrumptious. If I lived her I'd dine here every week which wouldn't be good for my waistline. Try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed as the food is excellent, the service attentive and the prices reasonable. read more

Used to love, love, love Ciattis. Have gone back a few times since the end of the pandemic, as well as done take out. The take out was disappointing. Seemed like they knew they had a captive audience at home and the portions and presentation was not up to par. Went back recently with friends and got the Gorgonzola and walnut salad. It used to come with croutons and dried cranberries. This time it was a heap of greens with maybe 2 oz of grilled chicken, and a handful of walnuts and a cherry tomato or two and maybe 2 tablespoons of blue cheese. I can make a better salad at home for about $3. Very, very disappointing. The others in the group, except for one who got the salmon, were not pleased with their dishes either. The food and the service was great!! As far as ambiance: it wast lacking; 1: The music was way too loud for this type of restaurant. 2: there was no decorations to be found on the walls or anywhere else in the dining area. I would go there again with the aforementioned concerns. read more

Back in August I had dinner at Ciatti's with a group of friends. We ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner - a few of us had wine with our dinner. We were sitting chatting and finishing up our meal when the hostess came over to the table to inform us that we were coming up on the 2 hour timeframe and that they needed us to leave because they needed the table..... there were plenty of other open tables in the dining room and we were all a bit confused as to why we had to leave.... I have always enjoyed the food there and they have one of my favorite wines, but I am reluctant to go there again. We figured out after we went to the bar to finish our drinks that they had a larger party that needed the table that we were at, but they could have explained that and offered to move us to another table or to the bar - even comped a dessert for our trouble. No they didn't do that so our party of 5 people who each had a bill of over $30 will not be heading there again. Writing this review so this doesn't happen to anyone in the future and they learn how to treat customers better.... read more

Came in as a solo diner about an hour and 15 minutes before closing. The hostess asked "just one?" Why, should I have more? Why do restaurants ask this? I was seated in the vacant half of the dining area, with no other people except for my hostess, now server, busily preparing for closing. However I did get some restroom traffic past my table. When I left at about 8:40 chairs were already on the table tops. I did not feel welcome, since I could tell my server was preparing to leave ASAP. My entree was good, the minestrone soup was decent but not as good as Olive Garden's. Service was fair. I'll try other options the next time I am in the LaCrosse area. read more

We would have given 5 stars except for the long wait to be seated. There was no one to greet us and the waiters looked at us but didn't seem to see us. Eventually we were seated. It was worth the wait our gentleman waiter made up for the wait he was joyful, jolly and made us feel like he wanted us there. This was a quick last minute lunch stop decision. We decided on Italian mainly because of good reviews . We were introduced to our sever Jason . He's explained the menu and specials. He returned quickly with drinks . We ordered quickly due to the long road trip ahead . The server explained opinions on smaller salad and portions . This was very helpful. My wife ordered the Seafood Cannelloni. This was the lunch portion which was only $10 . She loves it . It was filled with crab, shrimp, scallops . It was topped with Alfredo and broiled until golden brown. I ordered the Mixed Greens Gorgonzola Walnut Salad . I also received the lunch portion as well. It was perfect . Very well done . Lots of cheese and walnuts . I also ordered the Spicy Beef Tips appetizer. It was served with two sauces . A Béarnaise sauce and a Horseradish Sauce . Both were great . The beef was cooked exactly Medium Rare as I requested. These did have some heat just be aware. Lastly the service was top notch . Despite my waitress' advice that the flatbread worked as an entree for her, I got one as an appetizer. It was about 12" in diameter, and well-loaded with prosciutto, arugla, pine nuts and parmesan strips. The toppings tended to fall off, but the taste was excellent. On top of that, I got the tortellini "Straw and Hay". Not sure where the name came from, it was more like tortellini alfredo with peas, ham and mushrooms: also very good. Service was good. read more

The spicy chicken penne is to die for, every time my girlfriend and I go there, I get my penne and she gets the Fettuccine Alfredo and we share a appetizer of toasted ravioli. For a nicer restaurant, the food comes out quickly compared to others at its caliber. The servers are always nice and patient. When you walk in you see fine decorating with good flow in the space. The potential for a great place is definitely there. We sat in the bar. They have booths, low and hi tables. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly. I didn't get the greatest reception from the front door, but I truly was the first one in the door. So that can be a sign. Alexis was an awesome server with extreme knowledge and friendliness. She knew the menu and if she couldn't answer our questions she found the answer and was not arrogant for it. Ciatti's is pretty unusual in that it has a steakhouse feel yet still serving excellent Italian. In fact, I would say Ciatti's exceeds my expectations for both a steakhouse and Italian restaurant at a tremendously reasonable price point. I came to Ciatti's by high recommendations from co-workers while traveling in La Crosse. I have to say that everything written here and told to me was ON POINT. Service was excellent and in many cases above and beyond my expectations. The waiters on all three occasions were friendly, funny, and fast. I never felt my drinks were less than half empty before a fill up - it was almost a challenge to beat. I had the Butcher's secret sirloin with a side of fettuccine alfredo for all visit - it was just THAT GOOD. The steak is well seasoned and cooked to exacting standards - rarely have I seen a steak consistently medium rare (the only way I eat it) across all visits. Otherwise, the calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and toasted ravioli are all excellent appetizers. Would easily come back for a fourth time if I had more business in La Crosse! read more
