Always on our route to Viroqua we liked to stop here. We Like the atmosphere but today wasnt the best in several areas. They ran out of lemons for the water, salad was only lettuce, no tomatoes. The fish fry was extremely greasy. Not sure we will return anytime soon! read more

Rarely do I give 5 stars because between two of us, it's unusual that we both love our meals. Stopped on our drive through WI for lunch and hope we plan our route through here again just to visit Kickapoo Corners. I had the senior 1/2 club sandwich and soup. The sandwich was incredible with real turkey, ham and bacon. It was the best club sandwich I've ever had. Very good "lasagna" soup too. Partner had a fish sandwich and he's very judgmental about his fish. He said it was the best he's ever had! Way to go Kickapoo chef! The server was friendly and attentive. 5 stars read more

We were looking for a late lunch and it was obvious this place was busy so we pulled in. We loved it. We had our first serving of fried cheese curds with dip. They were good. It was a great appetizer. My husband ordered the hot beef sandwich. He loved it and I had a fried cod sandwich. Which as it turned out was on a great home made bun and I took the coleslaw as my side. We liked it. It was fresh and seasoned right. It did come out early, but we were hungry so we made short work of it. We thought this was a lovely local place and it made for a perfect stop. The restaurant is to the left. They do have a gift shop as you enter but it's to the right as you come in. They had some nice things. Look around if your looking for an item. read more

1. I ordered the Monterey chicken... The chicken was awful. Either a. It was frozen and thawed and refrozen and thawed again b. it was microbaved instead of grilled or c.just spoiled chicken. It was the strangest texture of chicken I've ever had. 2. When I sent the food back I ordered a burger. The chicken was not taken off our bill!! We were told the front knows they should take it off. We weren't really ever apologized to for the bad food nor were we offered anything. 3. When I approached to pay. The girls at the front wasnt friendly. I suggested that the burger shoulsnt be charged either because the chicken was so terrible. She ignored me and just restated the price to my boyfriend who reluctantly paid. I will never go back to this awful place. A note to the staff... Offer some pie or ice cream and take the food off the ticket when its clearly spoiled and if you don't believe its spoiled taste it!!! I call B.S. on the calling B.S.! This place is horrible! They charge way to much for portions that would be more at home out of a vending machine! I orderd the Wisconsin Steak Melt, and it comes with your choice of fries or coleslaw. My girlfriend ordered the Salmon Wrap and it came with nothing but good luck! The coleslaw came out first and not with my food, so that means it came out of a big jug that came from some distributor somewhere. Even KFC slaw is fresher and better tasting than this stuff. The Steak sandwich was more like the end of a steak sandwhich. Some dry meat and cheese on a roll. Folks in Philly would just laugh at it and throw it back! It tasted ok and that was a surprise. My girls wrap was the size of half a bean and cheese burrito and tasted rather bland. So, feeling like I had barely ate, I ordered the fries so we could snack on them. They came out looking so burnt that a friend of ours at the table asked if we had ordered sweet potato fries! And they where very shiny from all the oil they cooked them in! I tasted one and it tasted like old burnt oil! When I brought them to the attention of our waitress, she promptly told me that they where a new fry they had just started serving. Really? Burnt fries are new to you? When I told her that they where burnt and not just different, she got a bit stiff about it and insisted they where supposed to be like that. So, one of our friends told her if that was true, she should eat one herself, only then did she take them back. Our friends ordered Chef Salads that where mostly iceberg lettuce and very little of anything else. Our total came out to almost $25 bucks for that! So do yourself a favor if you are in that neck of the woods, and it is the woods, to just go down toViroqua to the Viking Inn and have a nice meal at a reasonable price! And to the person calling B.S., you should really drive out of town more often! read more

We went to this restaurant for Mother's Day and had the most exceptionally delicious brunch. The people here are really nice, the food is fresh and we all agree that this is a really fabulous place to go! Closes at 3pm. For dinner ,go to the Creekside for a delicious upscale meal. I don't know what happened that there are poor reviews. This place has fresh, awesome food. I like that it's not a chain and is locally-owned. We always have a great meal and wonderful service. We have taken out-of-town guests there several times and they've always enjoyed it too. I've also taken groups there for meetings as the back room works well for a working lunch. I travel several hours to visit a doctor in the area of my family's origin, and this is our "go to" lunch stop. We absolutely love the atmosphere and the service. Then the food is served, and let me tell you, the deep fried goodies are hand battered and wonderful, the salads are even to die for, and the fish is the best around. I stop here often. They always have a great special everyday! Good homestyle food with a large menu. Its all good.

It's OK. Food was good, but the coffee was horrible. Someone needs to go get a different brand of we'll have to bring our own next time.

the food was disgusting! my husband's fish was soggy and had no flavor, my French dip sandwich was tasteless, the bun was soggy, the may was overdone, and the dip tasted like straight salt.... we ordered the children's hot dog meal for our two toddlers... the bun was so hard, they couldn't eat it and the not dog had been over cooked in the microwave. we would never go back... not worth the money... read more

I won't eat here again. Had a fish dinner with a side salad, potato, and roll. Salad was obviously old: brown lettuce, dried-out shredded pieces. Fish was ok. Roll was the usual factory-produced "parker house" variety with no flavor. I didn't send the salad back, because I've often heard that wait staff will "adulterate" your food if you do that. So....I ate a part of it. Since it was the only uncooked item on the menu, I believe it was the cause of a "gastric disturbance" within 2 hours of coming home. Food in most cafes and diners is deplorable. This place is no exception. read more
