Comfortable vibe and my breve was perfect. Wish there were more pastry options but I don't really need them.

Homemade bread, homemade chips, homemade pepper bacon. Every dish was delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich on a pretzel bun with bacon, egg and cranberry sauce. It was amazing! My son's grilled cheese was the best he's ever had. My husbands cranberry BLT was so good and my daughter had the man n cheese and was homemade and delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Ambiance was lovely but food and service were severely lacking in quality. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Really cute atmosphere, had very high expectations. Ordered a latte, and they forgot to add the espresso so I ended up with hot sweet milk. 2 stars given because the Greek yogurt bowl was delicious. read more

Not open late enough but, great food! The Tuna Jack is my favorite, with candied bacon and great tuna salad! I also really like the Cuban sandwich! Anything you get here is worth the price. read more

We were in the area and looking for a place for a light lunch. Their menu was full of salads, soups, and sandwiches which fit the bill. Orders are place at the counter and picked up once your buzzer alert. The food came out very quickly. The cafe had plenty of seating in a cozy environment. There was a large fish tank near the register that seemed to be a favorite for the kids. The prices were very reasonable and portions were generous. Two of us had the 1/2 and 1/2. I had the Cuban and the cranberry walnut salad, both were delicious and came with a breadstick. My daughter had the tomato roasted garlic soup and grilled cheese, she said they were the best she's ever had. The bread is made in house along with their cookies that we couldn't resist. read more

recently in area looking for breakfast. food ok. shop attractive. wait staff not so much. snarky customer service unwelcoming & full of attitude. when their energy was returned could hear them behind counter talking about us. luckily, we live out of state! read more

While camping nearby (Wyalusing State Park), we craved some good coffee and we were not disappointed. Both the latte and cappuccino were very good. We also ordered the Tuna Jack sandwich - superb! http://www.simply-cafe.com/eatery.html#sandwich The only disappointment - several customers did not wear masks despite a "masks required" sign posted at the entrance. Otherwise, this was a nice find in downtown Prairie du Chien! read more

The raspberry white chocolate scones are addictive. Fair warning! Seriously, my husband drives about 400 miles, round trip, for these. Ok, so he's in town for other business but he schedules his trips around the cafe hours. I. Am. So. Addicted! Folks, I shouldn't even be telling you how great they are, 'cuz I'll have to share. The employees are fantastic. The atmosphere is charming. The menu has variety that'll even satisfy "that one" in the group. (You know, That one). Small town charm hiding massive chef skill. Did I mention the scones? ;) read more

We only got the drinks, but they were good. My husband got the maple bourbon latte. I think she said it was seasonal? I got a decaf with cinnamon and milk. Not much of a sugar free syrup variety, only a couple of fruity ones for other drinks. The atmosphere was really nice and cozy. read more

Great food. Friendly service. Cranberry BLT and Lavender Lemonade. Delicious Menu has a lot to offer.

We stopped in on a weekday for lunch after visiting the Effigy Mounds near by. The sandwiches are so good. My son is a chef that went to culinary school in New York and he loved his sandwich. We also had my 16 month old grandson along. They had high chairs and a big fish take that made his visit fun, too. I highly recommend. read more

Really excellent food...great sandwiches and soups. And the coffee is also top notch. All served in a fun, kinda funky setting. They're no longer serving breakfast, except for a few baked items, but lunch is a real treat. The owner has told me that they may get back into the breakfast routine, but it sounds as though getting help to work the early hours is a real struggle. Hopefully that will happen soon...Prairie du Chien does not have a lot of good breakfast options, and Simply had some excellent breakfast sandwiches and other dishes. read more

What a wonderful find! We were staying in my Moms old home town along the Mississippi River to visit the area last Fall, and discovered this place through Yelp suggestions. We ordered 2 awesome lattes and for food, 1 Smoked Turkey and Avocado on Focaccia bread and 1 Chicken Po Boy on Ciabatta bread. Both came with a side of kettle chips. OMG, these sandwiches and their handcrafted sauces were so incredible! We will be moving to Wisconsin this summer and we really look forward to returning to this awesome place! read more

A fabulous coffee shop with a great vibe. Friendly service and everything tastes homemade and fresh. I love their basic cappuccino. They have a breakfast sandwich with eggs, pepper bacon, cheese, tomato and a special sauce that is amazing. If you get one pay the extra dollar to get it on the home made multi grain bread. You will love it. read more

Best place to eat in town - hands down!! They only serve breakfast and lunch so get there before 2! The decor and setting is funky coffeehouse vibe. Music is usually louder than most but they play a good mix for everyone ;) It's counter service so you order and they bring the food to your table. The menu is soup/salad/sandwiches plus smoothies and coffee drinks and desserts. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is delicious. I have tried just about everything on the lunch menu and have never been disappointed!! My favorites are the sweet cranberry BLT and chicken poblano pepper. 3/25/18 - continues to be my favorite place to eat in town! The roasted garlic tomato soup is my 2nd favorite soup. I still need to try some of the coffees!! read more

In town for a business trip and didn't know where to go or what was good. Asked the customer I was visiting and he said Simply Cafe was the best place around for lunch. Came here four days in a row. Food was excellent and service was top notch. Had the Turkey Bacon Club each day. Prices are very reasonable and you will not leave hungry. read more

Busy place and for good reason. Very friendly and the food is unique and tasty. I had the Korean grain bowl which had just the right amount of heat and a very interesting side sauce. Portion size was good. The grilled cheese sandwich on french bread was also very good. Great place to stop by for lunch. read more

The food was 5-star all the way. Mediterranean bowl was just outstanding. Really disappointed the one woman at the counter who stepped up to help us was not wearing a mask and she was freaking coughing as she walked back and forth. Not even bothering to cough in her elbow. COME ON!!! Wear the damn mask. You are still allowed to cough, but if you work in food service and you are coughing, go home!! read more

This is the cutest little place downtown and their grilled cheese is the BEST I've ever had!!!

Hot Damn. Ever had a sandwich that made you feel just a little bit sexier? Well I did and I got it here. This place, raved about by my friends, is the bomb. They took a simple thing like a Turkey and Cheddar sandwich and gave it....depth. I took a bite of my friends and thought "no way could this be any better than something at any other sandwich shop." I was wrong. The sandwich I ordered was complex and interesting and it brought immense joy as I tried to eat it as slow as possible to make the pleasure last as long as possible. I'm telling you, try the Sweet Cranberry BLT. There was just the slightest kick to it which just pushed me over the edge. Literal food ecstasy. Sandwiches these good, well, they don't come around often, so if you are in the area, stop. Your taste buds will thank you. read more

My wife and I love this place. The people are so nice, the space is warm and inviting. The coffee is great and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious.. Don't know how many people visit Prairie Du Chien, but this is on our list of places to stop at while in town. Happy to have found out what apparently all the locals already know. Oh and props to the DJ. read more

Simply's is by far a must stop spot when going into this small Wisconsin town. The sandwiches are amazing while having a great variety for other choices as well. The decor and feel of the restaurant is truly one of a kind and should be put on anyone's list of nice brunch places! read more

This place was recommended by a local friend and had good reviews, so I ordered the Chicken Po Boy and two scones: the blueberry and the orange cranberry. I also got a house coffee. The coffee was pretty good. They had almond milk and oat milk options, which I appreciated. The blueberry scone was alright. The scone was moist, which was nice, the flavor left a little to be desired though. The Chicken Po Boy was especially disappointing. The flavor was good for the first bite or two, but then I realized the mixed greens on it were completely soggy: warm, soggy lettuce. Not appetizing. Unfortunately, I had to remove all of the greens. While doing so, it appeared that some of the greens had gone bad. It was hard to tell since it was all completely soggy. I ate a bit more of the sandwich after removing the greens, the flavor of the sandwich definitely begged for the addition of fresh-edible greens. It's been only been a little bit since eating, but the sandwich has left my stomach feeling a bit off. read more

Absolutely incredible little cafe! We're from out of state, and this was recommended by a local. We were beyond impressed. We ordered breakfast sandwiches and oatmeal and coffees. We couldn't believe how big the sandwiches are! We were expecting glorified bagels, and boy were we wrong! Massive, amazing quality. I mean, everything about this place was fantastic. It reminded me of a coffee shop back home. The baristas were fabulous!! 10/10. We will totally be back before we head home!! read more

Really cute place. I had the roast beef sandwich and added the sweet bacon on gluten-free bread. It was delightful. My wife had the sweet Gobbler, and also reported it to be outstanding. Really nice flavoring, even to the kettle chips. Absolutely great place to have a mellow, casual dining experience. Quaint, nice rustic ambience. Looking forward to many more visits as we pass through. ----- lunch was so good yesterday, we came back for breakfast today. The (2) All American and the Wake Up Call - both good. A nice gathering place to sit and chat with friends. read more

Always delicious food, different options compared to other local places and smoothies are amazing!

This is always, without a doubt a stop of mine when I'm in town visiting family! The sandwiches are simply some of the best gourmet sandwiches I've ever had-period! Being locally owned and operated, you can see one of the owners in the back making your sandwich in the back after you order and it's great to support a fantastic local business! The coffee and drinks are always great too, pretty much year-round I get the "Christmas Morning" and whenever I go in the friendly girl that takes my drink order pretty much can already guess that's what I' getting. SUCH great service! They also have giant cookies, rice krispy treats and various bakery items that tempt you on the counter as you're waiting in line-smart selling technique for hungry patrons! A huge plus is that everything is priced more than reasonably for the quality of product that you're getting-which should make you feel even better about eating here I'd say! My go-to sandwich is the Turkey and Cheddar, there's just something magical about the bread and the meat and cheese they use along with the special mayonnaise. It's mouth-watering, savory and delicious! I want one right now! read more

Stopped in to pick up sandwiches and was so glad we did! The sandwich selections all looked delicious. We got a couple of types of turkey sandwiches and they were huge and super tasty. We also tried their special - I think it was a Korean bowl - that was excellent. Finished off with a couple of huge cookies. Only took off a star as the staff and patrons didn't have on masks, we came from out of state and are used to seeing them, not sure if they weren't required, but I wish people (especially in restaurants preparing food) would take masking more seriously. read more

This place is the absolute best. The workers are friendly and polite the menu is simple but perfect they have every a coffee house should.

A gem of a coffee shop in a small town. Excellent coffee, some of the best sandwiches I've had anywhere, affordable prices. Even decent wifi (can't expect Google Fiber in a tiny town in Wisconsin). Staff is friendly, great decoration, fun music. If you come here on the weekends in the summer, you'll need to walk up the street to get a burger from Pete's. 5 stars. It's great, I'll be here everytime I'm in town visiting family. read more
