We shared these things: Small plate with scallops, pork belly, cantaloupe. Pork chop, flattened & breaded & fried, with amazing sauce and fresh green beans. Delicata squash, stuffed with a feta forward filling, with hummus and fresh mushrooms on the plate as well. My descriptions do not adequately capture the depth of flavors & sauces on each plate. So many flavors in pleasing combinations! Finally, this place is a great value. I'm not saying it is cheap. But you can spend this kind of money on much less interesting food.

The decor is that old school Wisconsin wood bar and restaurant with a bar one one side and a dining room on the opposite. Service was great and the bar tender was friendly, one of the very few who didn't panic when I said surprise me with a cocktail and she gave me a dirty gin martini. We ended with some donut ice cream plate which looked good but I didn't try it. The place is a friendly rural Wisconsin bar and restaurant.

What a hidden gem!!…read more We were just passing through and stayed at an Airbnb nearby. Unfortunately missed dinner--but after seeing the menu, I wish we hadn't! Duck, quail, rabbit, steak, and so much more. The menu was incredibly impressive. However, breakfast was delightful. We had an omelet made with fresh vegetables from their garden, French toast, a chocolate croissant, an almond butter croissant, herbal tea, and fresh cold-pressed grape juice. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. On our way out, we even picked up some tomatoes and carrots from the farm table. 10/10 on everything. Beautiful farm-to-table food, fresh ingredients, and wonderful service--all served by nuns! It really doesn't get much better than that. We'll definitely make a point of coming back for dinner next time.

Last time I ordered the prime rib, which ended up having as much flavor as a piece of paper. Tonight I ordered the crab cakes and lobster bisque. Again underwhelming. The crab cakes didn't have much flavor and the lobster bisque had no chucks (big or small) of lobster and tasted like it came from a can. It didn't taste bad, but I expected more from lobster bisque. One person ordered the salmon and really enjoyed it. Several people ordered the Thursday special BBQ chicken and ribs. The chicken was nice and crispy and the ribs were fall off the bone delicious. I really like that they ask if you want white or dark meat chicken (and most ordered the dark). The salmon and BBQ specials were very generous. In fact most took at least 1/2 of the ribs and their side home with them. The rest of the food was fine, but no one indicated exceptional. My recommendation is go for the chicken and ribs.
