Wandering thru the back hills of the countryside and "needed food. Literally...we would NEVER do an Asian buffet place. In fact....we've never gone to one together. First time for everything. Sunday nite: 7pm Parking lot: Empty Anxiety level: high Upon entering, we were greeted by the most pleasant employees, we were tended to very quickly & we went to the bathroom to wash up. By the time we returned, the parking lot was filling up, the workers were scurrying about and the food looked fresh and delicious. Bottom line: Effing delicious food! So impressed! We are in town for the weekend and in this tiny little town there are not very many options. I must say, we have pretty high standards for food and don't do buffets ever. This place has a great system of bringing out small amounts of each food so they're always fresh. We are also pretty healthy eaters and loved the variety of options. With excellent food at great prices I doubt many places can compete around here. If you are looking for a good hot fresh meal, this is a good spot. read more

Wow, some of the best Chinese I've had in a long time! I'm staying at the hotel across the road and thought I'd give this place a shot. Don't let the average outward appearance fool you, this place is good. My sweet and sour chicken was excellent. The meal was very hot and tasted fresh. The chicken was crispy outside and had good size pieces of white meat inside. The fried rice was legit too. My egg roll was crispy, golden and tasty as well. Portion sizes were great and it was very affordable at $7. I carried mine out but the interior looked very clean and the staff was nice. read more

So, let's go ahead and preface this by noting it's location. If Dragon Buffet was in Madison, certainly four stars, and in Richland Center, a solid five. In a town of five thousand, it's hardly assumed one would find good asian food. In fact, there's actually two restaurants rather close to one another here. While I can't speak for the other, Dragon certainly is fantastic. With an ample buffet, and quality choices, not even I had any complaints. Sure, some of the options were pretty generic and lacking in flavor, but by the same token, there were options that were absolutely fantastic. There was a chicken dish, served with jalapeno that I had to sample thrice. The fried entrees and the overly sweet desserts were very well done, and still very run of the mill. I don't think I'd ever drive out of my way to stop here, but any time I'm in the area and have a hankering for asian, I'll be sure to stop by! read more

Sometimes the food is great here, other times not so much. Today was one of those bad days. The mushrooms (both in the chicken dish and stuffed ones) had clumps of black dirt. I am local to the area and eat there often. The lunch menu is excellent, they keep refreshing the food. Very tasty and for a good price. There is an area for salads then on.to the entrées followed by a dessert it is an all you can eat buffet. If you leave hungry it is your own fault. read more
