Four stars because our server was incredibly awesome. Otherwise, a solid three is where this would have landed. For me, the donuts were meh. Too "bread like" for my preference. The chicken was good though, had a slight kick but not overpowering. The sandwich got picked apart and most of it left on the table to be tossed. The restaurant itself was very clean, the patio seating was nice and again our server was dope. I don't recall her name but she has a shirt pocket full of Lego pens. Also you can jump over to Downtown Diz for a quick visit with the parking validation from the restaurant if thats your thing. read more

We loved our first visit to Great Maple in Anaheim. We've been to Pasadena and Newport Beach and while there a few growing pains still being worked out on service, the food is still delicious. Don was our fantastic server. He was cordial, engaging, and attentive. The only downside we saw was the cocktail service and the meal wrap up. The cocktail wifey ordered, a cucumber gimlet, arrived mid-meal. I got my lemonade promptly so imagine this has to be on the bar, not the server. At the end of the meal, it took a little bit to get the check, but we could see he was bussing three tables and delivering checks all at the same time. We ordered the ribeye melt with fries and the Cobb wedge salad. The ribeye melt was delicious and the meat was perfectly tender and tasty. The fries were slightly stale. The Cobb wedge was good with lots of chicken, bacon, and blue cheese--I think the GM Chopped I had last time at Fashion Island was better. Being Disney fans, we really appreciate what Great Maple has done with the old PCH Grill space. A much needed face lift, an awesome alternative to Disney food when you need a break, and an overall good time (but in-line with Disney prices). read more

There are many reasons I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars: 1. Easy to make and modify reservations with OpenTable 2. I called in to modify my reservation the day of since we had a very large party and they were able to accommodate and seat all 12 of us at one table! 3. The hotel is newly renovated, modern, and clean. The restaurant has an open side with firepits which creates a nice view and ambiance. 4. The food quality was all very high, even the kids menu items. 5. The service was fast and friendly. We got seated punctually, orders taken punctually, and served punctually. 6. We will definitely be back, especially because my husband has the cast member discount of 20% off! read more

Great service, happy staff, and delicious food. The critics likely have zero kitchen experience - opening a new restaurant is no easy task. People management, food prep & execution. Yes it's newly established and it will be slow, but it's worth the wait. Tips: Chicken & donuts, rib eye Sandwich, Mac and cheese, all tasty. Skip the truffle fries. Give it a shot read more

Great Maple - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Anaheim, California

I really, really wanted to love this restaurant. Came here for Brunch, and this was one of our most anticipated restaurants to try out. First off, it's a beautiful restaurant. I loved the ambience of the place. Secondly, the Chilaquiles were on point and easily the best of the meal. Unfortunately, this is where it ends for us. I got the Smoked Bacon Scramble which was a huge disappointment. The scramble itself was extremely mediocre, and came with potatoes au gratin...which is kinda weird to be eating for brunch imo. Taste, and looked nowhere near a $23 meal. The Benedict came with biscuits, which were dry and overdone, but the ham was fine. What really boggled my mind, was my wife ordered a side of bacon which was pretty good bacon. Fairly thick slices....however a side of bacon cost a whopping $9 for 3 pieces! I guess bad on us for not looking at that beforehand, but $9 for a side of bacon is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen at a restaurant. Our server, while nice, was also surprisingly not attentive at all. She only came to our table maybe 3 times total including to take our order. The bill came, and was over $90+ (over $100+ with tip) for the three plates pictured, as well as one side of bacon & one coffee. You be the judge of what you want to spend your money on, but as for me this was nowhere near a $100+ meal. Overall, likely won't return here on my own accord. If someone else wants to go, sure I'll join and try something different. But I won't go out of my way to go back here, specifically for breakfast/brunch when there are much better options for the same, if not better pricing. read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant through the Disney phone application. It was the only restaurant accepting reservations. It's about 20 or so minutes walking from Disneyland entrance. You walk through all of downtown and about 5 minutes more. The walk wasn't terrible but you cannot take your Disney stroller and you have to allow search upon return. The location is at a hotel and the ambiance is relaxed with hint of upbeat. The food was great, we personally enjoyed the hummus appetizer. The price is about 30 dollars per plate. The service was good and the place is clean Try their seasonal donuts, they're great! We had the pomegranate donut read more

When I heard this place opened at downtown disney I knew I had to try it. I came with some friends for dinner and we ended up ordering all breakfast items lol the food exceeded my expectations. Everything was so good but I think my favorite was the French toast logs. It literally melts in your mouth. Needless you say, I'll definitely be back! Oh, you also get free parking validation at the hotel structure so that's a plus. read more

Finally got to try the famous great maple. They have one at fashion island and I was told it is pretty much the same. The biggest highlight was indeed the fried chicken and donuts. They were amazingly fresh and airy. Super delicious donuts. The fried chicken was a great addition to eat together with the donuts. Better version of chicken and waffles. Aside from that, everything else is just decent. Nothing to write home about. read more

First experience at Great Maple and delicious all around. Ambiance is great with a good balance noise level. All of our dishes were delicious and serving size were very generous. The donuts were more delicious than we expected as the balance of sweet and savory were perfect. My only constructive feedback is that there was a donut sampler to try both the maple bacon and seasonal donut, and that the brew bear was a slightly bigger. read more

We visited twice during a trip to Disneyland. If you're unfamiliar with the hotel it can be confusing to leave the park go through downtown Disney and wind up at the hotel. Once you are there, it's a very pleasant spot with an enticing decor. The food was outstanding. The staff are very friendly. My only complaint is that it took quite a while for our waiter to come to our table on both visits. Since we arrived 30 minutes before lunch was over on our first day, it did induce quite a bit of anxiety, waiting for the waiter to say hello and then take our orders . Knuckle it all went well. The food was ordered it arrived, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Enough so, that we went back the very next day for lunch. The delayed arrival issue was present the second day with a completely different server. The fried chicken and doughnuts is a winner. The doughnuts are huge but not too sweet. The chicken is well seasoned and moist. read more

So instantly you get amazed with all the Disney decorations in the hotel. We came came here on a Friday morning and we got seated right away. Our server Alicia was very helpful. Me and family ordered water all around and I did not like the taste of the water. We ended up ordering water and each cost $8.00 for a glass water bottle. So if you guys are picky water drinkers, I suggest buying your own water at a gas station LoL. I ended up getting the Fried chicken & donuts ($27) which was OK honestly, the donut just tasted like a regular donut but the chicken did have a good flavor. My wife got the ribeye hash ($30) she enjoyed her dish alot. My kids got the French toast logs ($23) which they said they were OK, they were a little bit too toasted. Overall this place is good, the place inside is beautiful, service is great BUT it's super pricey but hey that's Disney for you LoL read more

We were staying at the Grand Californian Hotel and made reservations to have dinner with family and friends. The Great Maple restaurant is located inside of the Pixar Hotel across the street from the Grand Californian. We ordered a variety of different foods ranging from salads, main courses (ahi tuna, hot chicken sandwiches, lemon shrimp linguini, fried chicken with donuts, and Mac n Cheese). The dining was casual, and the service was attentive and professional. We all enjoyed the food that was moderately priced based on location. We forgot our Yeti cup at the restaurant and a server came running out to return the cup to us, a true testament to their honesty and great service. We finished our meal with beignets dusted with powdered sugar and accompanied by lemon curd. The coffee was exceptional. The dining room has a modern feel and there's ample room. We used the Disney app to make reservations in advance for a party of 9. read more

Food: 5/5 Customer Service: 3/5 Wait Times (before dining & during dining): 2/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Best "Fried Chicken and Doughnuts" dish in OC! Their "Modern American Breakfast" was okay, but the avocado toast was sooooo fresh and delicious! The "Chicken Noodle Soup" also tasted very homemade and with fresh ingredients and herbs. Besides our server mixing up our order with two other tables' orders, and another server incorrectly trying to put down another party's dishes on our table, the ambiance and decor of the restaurant was very good, even though the customer service was slow and kinda sucked. It seemed as though there were a lot of new employees training or newly hired for this Anaheim Great Maple location. Come for the food and Disney ambiance! read more

Looked forward to dining here for over a year and ended up coming here for a friend's bday a few weeks ago. Service with the hosts was good, but our waiter and surrounding waiters (two males - one in his 20s and another maybe in his 40s) treated us like an inconvenience and all of us at the table felt the vibe in the air. To make matters worse they messed up one of our orders and blamed us claiming we had ordered that when we clearly did not and had been pointing at the menu as we placed our orders to ensure he (our main waiter the 20 something) heard us right. I honestly wouldn't come back to this place and was really disappointed, we just expected better since it's within a Disney hotel. We're honestly not the type of people to complain because we know sometimes people are going through things that we may not see, but wow this time we felt like we had to let people know to maybe consider another spot. There's a lot of restaurants in the area you're better off going there. read more

Before you do anything else... Definitely double the order of the mushroom fries because they were such a hit at our table. We came here as a larger group on a weekday dinner - the place didn't seem too busy but the service was on the slower side. The food was absolutely delicious - from the apps we shared to the beignets to finish the meal, everyone in our group was happy and satisfied. I especially loved the chicken bowl with grilled veggies as my entree as it was filling but still allowed room for a dessert. Love that there were plenty of healthy options for entrees and a mix of fried and non fried foods that would meet the needs of a mixed crowd. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area for a nice sit down meal with vibey decor! read more

On your next visit to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, if you are seeking a little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle, the Great Maple fits the bill nicely. The renovation of this space, along with the entirety of the re-imagined Paradise Pier, is done in a bright, airy California Casual style. These clean lines avoid clutter and distraction, creating a relaxing, albeit staid, atmosphere. The menu at Great Maple is All Day, so there's no need to worry about arriving at an appointed time. This spot is ideal if you're already at the park. However, if you're not, keep in mind that parking at the Resort can be a bit cost-prohibitive. The servers are friendly and accommodating, an essential part of the dining experience. Our server made some helpful recommendations, starting with the donuts. Apparently, they are giant, and an order of three would have been overkill. Here's your first hint: you can get a single donut, although it's not on the menu. Great Maple makes a warm, doughy, sticky, and bacon-riddled beauty that fulfilled us nicely. This was paired perfectly with a large cup of fresh-brewed coffee. We had a relatively light meal this visit but really enjoyed our time there. Afternoons on any day are a nice break from the parks, especially from the heat and crowds. We started with the soup of the day, Chicken Noodle. It tasted like a homemade number with even broth, chunks of chicken, and cavatappi pasta. This was a nice, light, and fulfilling soup. The Rib Eye Hash was the reason we came. In Anaheim, many of the hotels have this as a standard dish, and they range from exquisite to everything in between. Great Maple's take on this was different, and I appreciate their spin. The potatoes are cut thin, like baked potato slices - crispy but dry. The rib-eye was of good quality, but it felt muted by the other items in the dish. Some slight alterations would help the meat stand out a bit more - perhaps ask for the Hollandaise on the side and introduce it as you need. The Brussels sprouts and the poached soft eggs were the highlights. To finish off lunch, I had a Great Maple Old-Fashioned. This was a well-balanced and not overtly sweet - not sure what bourbon was used, but it was mid to top shelf for sure. The bacon was thick and a nice finish whilst enjoying. All in all, Great Maple is a spot to keep in mind if or when you are looking for a place to unwind away from the bustling crowds. This was my first visit on my birthday. The place was very packed, but I thought the waiter did his best to help out our table of 5 among the other tables I am sure he had. My friend ordered the portobello mushroom fries for us to share and they were delicious. I tried the salmon which came out last but still was not cooked. They tried again but the dish came back smelling strong, and still looking quite uncooked. At this point I ordered the steak instead, and I am SO glad I did. I was not charged for the dish that went wrong. What a difference a dish makes here. The steak and truffle fries were delicious and cooked to my satisfaction. There was also a small arugula salad served which added to the flavor. I didn't get a photo of the other food because we all gobbled it up, and I forgot. But my friends all seemed to enjoy their dishes. No birthday treats were offered but after my day at Disney that was probably a good thing! The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. read more

The food was good. Everything we ordered was tasty. The problem was the wait time. It took 20 minutes before anyone took our order and another 20 minutes before we got our food. I'll cut them some slack because they just opened, but honestly it shouldn't of been that long because only 5 parties were in the restaurant. Our waiter was nice but his manners were lacking. For example, he would be talking to another member of the staff across the room. It was very unprofessional. The ambiance was nice. Very mid century, which I'm a fan of. Unfortunately, since this place is new, contractors were walking around talking about what needs to be fixed. Once again, very unprofessional. Being on Disney property means you have higher standards, regardless if your new or not. It seems like this place forgot that. I'll be back in a few months and update my review. Hopefully it's better. read more

Food was good however the wait was ridiculous. We had a reservation and they took their time getting us back to a table. They said we had to just wait until the other party left. They messed up my 3 year old nephew's order and had to sit for 15 minutes starving and eventually fell asleep before he could even eat his meal. The waiter was super friendly and nice. They were just incredible slow. The food was really good except for the hair that was in one of the dishes. I mean, expect everything at Disneyland to be overpriced, but my meal was good. I got the smoked scramble and it was plenty of food with some left over. The apple pie donuts were good but nothing worth $6 a donut. This was one of those l, we tried it, probably wont go back places. The hotel itself is cute and the theme is fun, the restaurant is clean and nice. read more

Tried out Great Maple on a Saturday night when the downtown Disney parking lot was actually full! We walked right in as a party of 8! Didn't realize this was still a hidden jem. Our waiter Dawn was super knowledgeable and also made us laugh. He went above and beyond to accommodate the three kids in our party. Our table tried a variety of foods and we all were very pleased! The table favorite was the chicken and maple bacon doughnuts. It's brilliant that they have an all day menu! We also loved that this is an elevated Disney dining experience without breaking the bank. They had a vast drink menu and the doughnuts change seasonally. We are excited to come back and highly recommend! read more

Today was ok. We came when they originally opened and the service and food was wonderful. Today the food was dry and the service mediocre. Really sad because it's such a cute aesthetic. The service was amazing as you'd expect from a restaurant on Disney property. However, some things were kinda off if you're used to dining RSVPs at Disneyland. First, I made the RSVP on the Disneyland app and checked in 15mins before the rsvp time but instead of getting a text to let me know my table was ready, the hostess was calling my name from the front desk! It's a good thing I was in the area to hear it. We were seated in a booth near the front of the restaurant and the table was extremely close to the seats so it might be a tight fit for some. Next the food, we ordered the Liquid Patience and Great Maple Mule. I was kinda disappointed to find out that these cocktails are premixed after sitting near the full bar. The drinks were just ok, just tasting like juice to go with your brunch. Then we ordered the Steak and Eggs and Fried fish sandwich. I ordered my steak medium and it definitely came out well-done, I would not nitpick unless the dish wasn't a hefty $40. The sandwich was ok. We ended the meal with the seasonal lemon blueberry donut and it was huge and crispy on the outside and soft inside. The total was $140 with tip. Finally, Great Maple is not owned by Disney but the app and other reviews say they take the 10% Magic Key discount. I was told that they only do on Weekdays.. I won't be back. read more

This restaurant was such a let down. Visited Disneyland for D23 weekend and made a reservation here as I haven't had the chance to eat there yet. The restaurant decor and ambiance is probably the best thing about this place. The food and service was subpar. I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich. The sandwich lacked any heat and the chicken had this fishy taste to it. I have seen other reviews that said the same thing about the chicken. I picked at it and ate the salad that came with it. I asked our waiter if the chicken is cooked in the same fryer that fish is cooked in. He said no, and that the chicken tastes like that when the fry oil is nearing the end of its life and needs to be changed. How gross! Change your oil! My aunt order the BLT. She said that the bacon was too thick and chewy to make the sandwich enjoyable to eat. I understand that thick cut maple bacon is one of their signature dishes, but we believe that the bacon needed to be cooked longer so that the fat could be rendered more and make it less chewy. My husband ordered the burger and he said that it was mediocre and nothing stellar about it. My uncle ordered the lemon shrimp fettuccine and a tortilla soup. He said that both of his dishes were tasty, but that he has had greater food elsewhere. Overall, I probably would not make another reservation here. read more

How come no one talks about this place? We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! We were missing home cooked food a bit and were worried that another burger would just be so boring and not hit the spot. But Great Maple definitely did hit the spot! We loved every dish we got and finished it all! We ordered ribeye melt, mac and cheese, Cobb salad, baby back ribs, and chicken and maple donuts. Everything was delicious! Ribeye melt was my favorite. Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. Baby back ribs is only half rack. Meat falls off the bone. And the chicken and maple donuts... that was our kid's dish even though it's on the adult menu. She loved getting 2 large donuts with her dinner. I would say the maple isn't strong and tasted more like glazed, which I'm totally fine with. Lots of bacon all over the donut was a plus for my daughter who loved bacon. Highly recommend every dish! Vibe check- if the photos didn't have Disney characters, are we still at the Disney resort? The walls are adorned with Pixar characters in black and white filter, so the decor isn't "in your face" Disney. The decor is clean and modern. The food and service here are excellent! It was my first time coming back here since their big renovation. This is a very nice place for big groups. The only downside is that it's a bit of a walk from the parks. The food was amazing, though. Everything is a bit in the pricey end but well worth it. This is one place I would recommend to anyone. The hostess was very nice and seated us right away. The restaurant was not busy at all. It was 9 am on a weekday. There were probably 5 tables occupied. Walking to our table I noticed a table that was covered in dirty dishes which wasn't a good start for a first impression. We were handed menus and the hostess left. The server came to the table after a few minutes to hand us a small seasonal menu then left. She never introduced herself or offered recommendations. After about 5-10 minutes she returned and said thanks for waiting. We put in our food and drink orders and she again left. My mimosa was delivered to the table by the bartender and after a reasonable amount of time our food was delivered. Food was great! The server checked in after a bit and then we didn't see her again.
