I purchased a car from a company that has a commercial account at the AutoZone in Cary Illinois …read more The company purchased a refurbished battery for the car, and within a week I had been stranded more than three times because the battery was completely dead and needed a jump. I went to the Cary location after I had the battery jumped , and the female manager , who is not at all personable , advise me that because it was a commercial account I was not able to trade the battery back in for a working battery . I had to bring the dealer into the location, as well as, the defective battery to the counter. This female manager , refunded the dealer the money that he spent on the battery, and she even tried to imply that the purchase was not within 30 days . The dealer showed her his receipt . I intended to buy a new battery that fit my vehicle, and upon checking out , this manager looked at me straight in the eyes and said that I could not use the battery as a core, because she considered it as damaged . I argue that the battery was defective , and she would not allow either of us to use the defective battery as a core and I would be up charged $22 extra because of that fact . I ended up going to Walmart where I had no problems buying a new battery with double the warranty and I could go anywhere in the country if there was a problem rather than involving the dealer . I can honestly say, that I will never , do business with AutoZone because of this female manager who I felt was trying to defraud me . That store should take a look at her abilities, she has no business sense, and doesn't know how to promote good customer relations . I am done with AutoZone forever .

I was here a couple weeks ago trying to figure out my antenna on a 98 Honda Civic. I bought one…read morefrom the autozone in Crystal Lake that was supposed to work but did not. I returned it to the Cary Auto Zone with out the receipt. There is some kind of code on a receipt that allows another store to access the other store to make the return but with no receipt, the code was no place to be found. The employee at the Cary Auto Zone took some time to call the other store to have them look up what purchase and get the code. Then the Cary Auto Zone employee made the return for me. I was not expecting that kind of customer support on a $10 item. He was very good to me. I only wish I had gotten his name so everyone would know who he was. He was fantastic and a credit to Auto Zone and there hiring practices.
