Great Harvest used to have stores in the Buffalo area, but they closed a while ago. We still had gift cards for Great Harvest and decided on our way back from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to stop at their Mentor, Ohio store. What a great visit that was! It started with a nice welcome at the moment we entered and were offered a taster right away. Generous tasters, not just a little piece of bread, but a whole slice! I tried the Cheddar Garlic and I loved it. Real garlicky with big pieces of cheddar in it. Needless to say we left with a variety of different breads: cinnamon chip, challah (unfortunately they had not sweet ones with raisins) and the garlic cheddar. read more

This a wonderful place. The company used the have stores in the Buffalo area, but all of them closed several years ago. I have bought bread from their outlet in Pittsburgh (by mail order) and at a store in Charlotte, NC. The bread was great, but the experience at the Charlotte store was terrible, and because of that experience, I called the corporate headquarters. The woman I spoke to there told me about the store in Mentor, Ohio, how it is a family run business. I contacted this store several times before my trip to Cleveland, even getting directions to get to the Mentor store. I was only disappointed that Molly, the woman with whom I had been in contact was not working today as I wanted to meet her and thank her personally for her help. We were waited on by Molly's aunt. She could not have been nicer, bagging up my loaves of bread, telling us to double bag any of the loaves we plan to freeze. It is disappointing that the company has raised the loyalty point level as I anticipated getting another loaf at 100 loyalty points. No one seemed to know the new level needed. I bought challah, cinnamon crunch and cheddar garlic loaves. I used to buy the challahs when the stores were in Buffalo, so know how wonderful it is. We tasted the cheddar garlic and were seduced by it. The cinnamon crunch just looks wonderful, with a nice crunchy outside. This stop in Mentor was well worth the short detour. read more

I still love this place. They have the best gluten-free bread I have ever had. A whole wheat with seeds in it and high-fiber that is delicious. They also have your typical white and wheat plain. They also offer a cinnamon chip white bread gluten-free that's great for French toast. I also enjoy their savanna bars which are similar to a short bread cookie with a crumble fruit topping. The gluten free bread comes in a few different flavors. This place is so solid. Location is kinda weird, they used to be in a really easy to find location...somewhere closer to 615 but now they are tucked into a shopping plaza where the old Staples used to be. I'm guessing rent was cheaper. :D Anyway, they make awesome bread, sandwiches, muffins, brownies - you name it. It's a family ran spot with I think a brother and sister combo running the joint. Not sure but that was the vibe I got. Either way, worth a visit. They also offer Dog bones for your pup and they're BOMB. Our dog mows these things with vigor and he's picky about snacks. This is a great bakery and they never disappoint. I've tried several of their breads and they are all really good. The cinnamon swirl bread is amazing if you want a dessert bread. We recently found out my daughter is gluten free and they have a great selection for breads for her. The granola bars are amazing, as well as their soup mixes. Instead of wearing pink, on Wednesdays Great Harvest turns gluten free! I stopped by at the end if the day and they still had lots of good options. We got a loaf of Dakota bread, which was awesome and nutty; red, white, and blue desert bread, which had berries in it and was delicious and we ate it for breakfast; and a brownie which tasted like a proper brownie, none of the tell-tale gluten free texture or flavor. They had several other gluten-free breads available, of which I only remember cinnamon raisen and white sandwich style. They also make sandwichesto order, so keep Great Harvest in mind at lunchtime if you're nearby. I whole-heartedly recommend you stop by too! read more

Great food. I just stopped and and pick up some lunch less than 20 minutes ago. And it was the lunch I have had in a while absolutely love the sandwich had fresh vegetables on it the bread was delicious and I tried one of their cinnamon twist and it also was amazing thank God I live 3 hours away because I'll probably go there daily there was a young lady at the front counter who was very polite. She was the one that made my sandwich and I would give it a 5 out of 5. I am a truck driver so I go to a lot of different places but you just don't find these small family-owned places that often. Excellent, wholesome breads, muffins, scones, cookies, etc. I love having the opportunity to taste samples of the bread before buying. The store is warm and cozy and you can't beat the wonderful aroma that greats you when you walk in the door. The location is a little tough to find--at the rear of the shopping plaza where Staples used to be--but it's worth the effort. I especially recommend the Cinnamon Chip and 9 Grain breads, along with the Raspberry White Chocolate scones! read more
