Hole in the wall bakery with street parking. Lots of Italian cookies. Snickerdoodle wasn't dry entirely but was pretty darn tough like it was made days ago. Not too flavorful either. Macaroon type mini cookies were incredibly hard to chew and had a very strange not coconut macaroon traditional type flavor and were inedible. Cruller was not dry or rubbery but otherwise unremarkable. Blueberry cake donut was moist but the blueberry flavor was artificial and strange. Sour cream donut was actually moist and had the right flavor. The cronut wasn't bad at all! Flaky without any off flavors. Chocolate cake donut wasn't bad tasting thank god but was sadly dry. They're very affordable here. It's just super duper hit or miss as far as what you get. read more

Awesome, old school neighborhood bakery. You can tell that this place is family owned and has been here for a long while. There was a cute sign that says "down home bakery" which made me feel so cozy and warm. The majority of the pastries are $1.75 each, which obviously feels like a steal this day and age. I tried a glazed croissant and some type of turnover. The croissant was delicious. Soft, flaky, and sweet, I also got one of their popular pizza bagels. It's kind of a loose term "bagel" more like a round ball of bread, with marinara sauce and cheese on top. It was very tasty and fulfilled a savory tooth in the morning. There was one sweet woman working the counter and I think there is another baker. Of course the place could use some upgrades, but it's always nice to step inside a great spot that's been in the neighborhood for a long time and is still standing because they offer a great product. read more

BAKED GOODS AND KINDNESS I was having a bad day. I had just left my aunt's burial service, pouring rain. I drove by Buettner's Bakery and decided to treat myself. There were tons of baked goods to choose from - and I chose well. I don't know what it was called but it was flaky, kind of sticky, buttery apple goodness. Sue was working there and heard about my sad day and GAVE me the pastry for free. God bless her. Thank goodness for a fabulous bakery and that people like Sue still exist in our crazy world. Sadly I live out of state but you can bet I'll be back at my next visit to place a big order with Sue. Do yourself a favor and stop in! read more

First off, the lady working here was so nice! Not pushy, patient with me because she new I was a complete newb walking in. She sensed when I took everything in and then took my order. I asked for a big box and ordered 16 dollars worth of pastries. My husband and I split a few of them later in the evening. Great old world bakery full of fresh yumstrosities. Nice selection, no $5 cupcakes here. Everything very reasonable - dozen donuts $8, all super fresh and awesome. Opens early (like 6 am?). Got hooked by walking my dog past in the morning and smelling freshly baked heaven. I knew it had to be good from the smell, and the fact that stream of people come through even that early. Donuts, fritters & croissants are all yum. Even the pizza bagel was light, fluffy and well done. Haven't gotten through the entire bakery - might not make it thru the door if I do. This neighborhood bakery is just AWESOME! Small bakeries like this are few and far between. I stop here on my way to work, on occasion, and pick up goodies as a treat for my co-workers. Everything is always fresh, delicious and inexpensive. I can't believe how reasonable the prices are. I always leave a little extra, because they truly don't charge enough, especially when I think about $8 desserts that I've had at restaurants, that pale in comparison to the fresh baked goodies here. This is a great neighborhood bakery with plenty of standards (delicious doughnuts, danish, kuchens, bread) but also the best pizza bagels for miles and wonderful cakes. Like most small bakeries they are busiest early in the day and some things sell out quickly. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is super! The cranky counter person mentioned in some earlier reviews is long gone. Preorders recommended if you absolutely must have an item but won't be there early. read more

Buettner's doughnuts are the best in the Cleveland area at very good price. I have tried the pizza bagels which are very good, the pizza is good if you are looking for a snack of cold pizza, I was. Chocolate chip cookies!! I pick up a dozen almost weekly for myself and I take them to Michigan when I visit my people as they love the cookies and always request I bring a dozen for them.
