Deceptive.....everything may look gorgeous, but sickeningly sweet. Maybe it was just me I thought, until I started seeing cake slices in the trash . Add to that the size cake they say feeds 30 people caused us to have to buy a grocery store cake just to have enough. They should clarify that. I prefer guests to have more than a shaving size slice of cake. The grocery store cake actually was eaten quicker. Also the writing on the cake was embarrassing to present. It was not professional at all, I was shocked and pink and blue icing for a man? Nope, don't trust their judgement . Shameful for the cost . All in all, approx $180 for a cake that didn't 't go around and 2 dozen cup cakes. The cupcakes were pretty enough to look at , but also sickeningly sweet. (All the flavors of the day. ) Suffice it to say, the amount left over and put in the trash by the guests said everything to me. I expected way more . Never again ! We've given them two tries. Ordered cupcakes for a friend's birthday. Expected to pay about $25-$30 for a dozen so a bit of a sticker shock for it to be $43. My bad though, I could have changed my mind and said no, but I wanted to give them a shot. Went in to pick them up and as I am leaving, their huge, heavy door closed right on the box tipping over all of cupcakes. Not happy. If you know you have a heavy butt door like that, maybe offer to open it for the customer who has a huge box in their hands? At any rate cupcakes were good. But not worth the price. I wanted one of their pre made cakes . I asked if they could simply just scrape off 4 flowers and write something on top for me. Would have taken them a total of 2 minutes to do and they said their cake decorator wouldn't do that for me. As I heard them all talking and laughing in the back. They clearly had 2 minutes to spare. Service was terrible. How sad. Will not be back. I can go to any bakery and get better service for a simple request. It's the little things in life that go a long way. read more

I was also recommended One Apron Bakery (recommendation by the Confectionery Cupboard) for custom made baby shower cookies, and soooo happy with all of it. My favorite splurge is cupcakes...hands down. I don't want fancy clothes, jewelry or shoes no thank you I want perfect moist but not fall apart cake, decadent icing with buttercream or ganache deployed and flavors that make me crave you...out of 6 cupcakes my husband bought for my birthday yesterday only 2 were craveable and not for losing anything but dry crumble apart bottom cake OR just way too much frosting on top and no flavor in. The Guinness or Bailey chocolate cupcake was so rich that I couldn't eat the full quarter without pacing (we split all the cupcakes in fours and all "taste" them all. Now the flavor delicious - just like the Boston Creme - delicious BUT the bottom became mush. Ok so that was two down. Peanut butter - great flavor, moist cake but icing all over and nothing inside. The s'mores and snickers had it all goin on on top (like a massive ganache ball just sitting there) but again dry cake and nothing in the middle...so number 6 a Reese perfect specimen. I would definitely try them again because really I love cupcakes and these have been the best eastside by far...and it was an amazing birthday surprise from my kids and hubby...from the pictures on here they have a champagne one and that my friends is ALWAYS worth a go! read more

Delightful, little shop! As you walk in the door your senses are indulged with a splendid array of beautiful confection options, amazing scents in the air, and a sweet greeting by the staff. My selection was Double Chocolate - chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. The cake was very moist and flavorful but it was the frosting that really made it great! Sometimes buttercream can bee too sweet, but this had a good balance of rich and chocolatey. Wonderfully delicious. I'm looking forward to my next visit and what flavor I'll select next! read more

I stopped in to buy a few cupcakes because I heard they had really good ones. The cupcakes I purchased were very unique. BACON! Who ever heard of bacon on a cupcake? LOL Actually it was not bad!! For looks and presentation, 4/5. For taste and speciality, a 3.5. Batter and icing aren't elevated into new heights, but these cupcakes are definitely better than the local grocery stores, prettier, with gift-worthy presentation to boot. The preparation and presentation of these beauties deem the prices as quite fair. I got a half dozen yummies here for a simple vday this year and we were happy to share the batch over lattes at home. Best tip is to leave the cupcake out of the fridge for a few minutes before having with coffee or tea, as it allows the cake and icing to soften. Eating it cold may give you the wrong impression that the cake is dry when it is just stiff bc of its temperature. Also, cold diminishes some tastebuds so the icing also tastes better and has a creamier consistency if allowed to improve temp. Just a few minutes, not a whole day, ok? Tucked inside the building for Putt Putt you will find this little gem. They sell the obvious hot dogs, nachos, pop and chips for the Putt Putt and the game room - but the first thing you see is several pastry cases filled with delectable chocolates and - wait for it - cupcakes. Now, you're saying to yourself "that cupcake thing is so over." Take my word for it - it's not over - these cupcakes are unlike anything you've ever had with flavors ranging from Bananas Foster to Casata Cake to Lava Cake to Peanut Butter Chocolate to Neopalitan - oh I could go on and on. To help you understand these cupcakes and their superior qualities allow me to describe a few. The Casata Cake is a white cupcake filled with bavarian cream, frosted with a wonderful vanilla buttercream and topped with fresh strawberries in glaze. The Banana Foster cupcake is a banana cupcake, filled with bavarian cream, and frosted with banana frosting and garnished with a slice of dried banana (these are my son's favorite!). I could go on and on about these cupcakes. My favorites are the filled cupcakes, but they make unfilled as well. I took a dozen to my son's graduation dinner. They would make good birthday gifts for a co-worker or even dessert for a dinner party. They are attractively packaged, and look beautiful. If you need a dozen of a special flavor - or 12 dozen - just call and ask and they will help you. In my search for an awesome cupcake, not knowing this place even existed I stumbled upon it. I'm a baker myself with a cookie business and dabble in cupcakes and other treats. Her cupcakes are big, rich and very modestly priced at $2.25 - $2.75 each. I bought a Butterfinger, Espresso Madness, Orange Dreamcycle, Snickerdoodle & Apple Cinnamon one earlier this week. They were very good but so very rich and sweet. I didn't get there in enough time for the "infamous" brides cake cupcake she makes so I went back and bought one a couple days later and it was yummy! Her cake isn't like any other cupcake I've had before. My husband and I agree it's kind of like a twinky; a combination between angel food cake and pound cake. It's unique in that respect and over all her cupcakes are fabulous! If I can't bake them myself or want a treat without the work, it will definitely be my go-to cupcake/cake store! My first visit to this cute little shop. A nice selection of flavors. The owner's mother waited on us and she was so sweet. I purchased a double chocolate with chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream frosting. The cake was moist and flavorful but the frosting was really great. Usually I am leery of buttercream because it is so sweet, but this was rich and chocolatey. Really delicious. I'm ready to try more flavors! read more

Amazing place! I have tried cupcakes before, but not as fantastic as these! I went in on valentine's day, they were so busy. Even being super rushed as they were, they were still very kind and helpful. The cake decorator Jamie, brought out the most beautifully done cake I have ever seen, and talk to my wife and I for a bit on how'd she done it. She was very kind and funny. When it was our turn, we picked out two cupcakes. A Brides and a chocolate carmel pretzel. Everything tasted so fresh, and the girl was every nice. We will be going back again for all our cake/cupcake needs. I highly recommend them! read more

We love this place! The cupcakes are delicious, but the other reviewers are right, you have to get there early. I was there a couple minutes early and they were kind enough to let me in while they were still setting up. By opening, there were four people behind me. I understand why they don't make more, any they have to throw away is just money in the garbage. Also, first of all the strawberry frosting is unbelievably delicious. And I don't mean, pink delicious. I mean whipped strawberry awesome. Best on their chocolate cupcake. Best cake is the almond, so light and airy but grounded with the almond. I am sorry but I have to be very BLUNT. To charge for a 2 tier cake at the price of $145 and then a $20 stacking fee is absurd. Further, the place was VERY dirty and there was no "lux" feel or an "elite" feel to pay these kind of prices. Sorry but their are far superior places to go that don't charge an arm and leg because they are trying to keep the lights on. Sadly, I didn't even get to taste any cakes to even persuade myself into thinking this place was a contender because, oh yea....they don't offer tastings!!! I attended the bridal cupcake tasting event on 2/19/17. I was impressed, so I spoke with an employee and gave them my wedding details and contact information. She said she'd email me a quote, and we would take it from there. Great! For the next 2 weeks, I checked in twice (once by email and once by phone), politely asking for an update. Used to receiving quotes back quickly from other wedding vendors, and seeing that the bakery had been very active on their social media account, I thought maybe I was just accidentally forgotten. It wasn't until I contacted them over Facebook that I was acknowledged. I was promised I'd receive a quote in 3 days. Nothing happened, so I reached out again. They claimed having sent it out, but that maybe they had my email address wrong. They asked for it, despite it had been provided multiple times in various forms of communication. I shared it and was guaranteed a quote within a day. Yes, I was contacted the next day, but without a quote, stating they thought I was a different customer in our previous conversation, and that my file was now pulled and prioritized due to the mix-up. I finally received the quote a week later on 3/19/17. It incorrectly showed cupcakes for 190 guests (instead of our max capacity of 120) and a 2-tier cake (instead of 1-tier). I'm not sure how, since this information appeared to be taken down at the tasting. I requested a corrected quote and also had 2 simple questions regarding the mentioned cupcake tower rental and deposits.  That was 11 days ago, and still no response. Now having been 7 weeks since the tasting, my patience has certainly been tested. I'm beginning to wonder how many more weeks it will take to hear back? Regardless, I've reached my limits with this potential vendor. Overall, it sounds like they were ill-prepared and don't want the business generated by an event they voluntarily hosted. read more

I signed up for a Yelp account solely with the intention of providing a review here... I had to pick up cupcakes somewhere after work (I get done at 5) but almost every bakery in the area closes at or before then. Luckily, TCC is open until 6 and I do emphasize "luckily"... this place was awesome. I got an assortment of 6 to split between myself, my wife, and two friends, and everyone loved these cupcakes! My wife even declared they "were the best cupcakes she's ever eaten".
