Great floors did a beautiful job on two of my listings. Made all the difference in the world and basically sold the houses !

Five years ago I had a great experience with Great Floors on a carpet install for a home I was going to sell. What a difference 5 years can make since I've heard Lowes has purchased Great Floors recently. I'm selling another home and the customer service was far below acceptable. I was told a crew would install the new carpet. Only a one person crew showed up for the install. Old carpet came out in 2 pieces and new carpet went in in 5 pieces most likely because contractor could not handle carpet weight in 2 pieces. I now have showing seams every 4' to 6'. We were told that Great Floors would make it right by our salesman but that was another lie. Also I was lied to about the warranty transfer to the new owner of the home. They refuse to make anything right. I will never use or recommend Great Floors to anyone ever anywhere because of the lies and excuses we have received from the Coeur D' Alene store. read more

Great Floors installed all the flooring in our house 20 years ago and did a good job. We went back in recently to replace the carpet in part of the house. The sales rep took all of our information and said he would email a quote within 24 hours. No response the next day or the day after. We called and left a message. No response. We stopped in and were told he was off that day so we left our contact information again and waited. Two days later and still no response. We are going elsewhere. read more

74 year old couple, no pets. From Coeur d,Alene, Idaho. Bought Mohawk carpet from Great Floors with a 25 year warranty and within the first year I had them come and look at the wear and fibers coming out of the carpet and they refused to honor the warranty. Said I shouldn't be using a battery operated Dyson vacuum and would not be honoring my warranty. ? No wear in the warranty does it mention not using Dyson products. Not doing business with them or Mohawk products again. read more

Disaster! Great Floors Destroyed our home and our lives! No exaggeration. May I add that they were a sub contractor of Daum Construction, who has also remained silent. Run for the Hills! Do Not give them your business!! They botched a flooring installation, causing black mold to grow under the flooring. After 3 years, they showed up to repair and that's where thing fell apart. They used high power grinders to grind up the mold. The filled our entire house with mold infested toxic cement dust. To this day, they have not answered our complaints. They remain silent. The people encountered reacted as though I annoyed them by shopping. I knew what I wanted, they had it, but that ticked-off attitude sent me running. Friendly? No, in no way. I don't get it. Overly busy? Two other customers were visible. I am polite and pleasant, don't smell, and am flexible. Though this clan was unaware, I also pay cash. I found the door pretty fast. I don't know, maybe an employee recently died at work or they were about to be laid off. Wow, and never will return. read more

We needed to replace and repair flooring that was installed by another vendor after the warranty ran out. Roger (at the Coeur D Alene store) went above and beyond to make a very stressful situation as stress free as humanly possible. He is extremely knowledgeable about various product lines and the pros and cons of each. We purchased our home new in December of 2023. Moved in and everything was going as expected in a new home, until the flooring failed, and we needed to have it looked at and inevitably replaced. I was contacted by Justin who began to set up and ask me for dates I would be available for the replacement. This is where things begin to become very disorganized and messy. The dates I gave the company for my availability meant nothing and Great Floors scheduled the first day for base trim to be removed on 5/20/24. I asked my mother-in-law to be at the house Monday, and Great Floors was a no show. I messaged Justin my contact thus far, and he told me they would be there tomorrow, but Adam was in charge of this project. Adam had been included in all the emails and never responded. It was Justin communicating with me. Anyway, Tuesday the 21st came and Great Floors again no showed. Until about hour 1600 when the crew showed up, dropped off the flooring and complained about the furniture being in the house (Yes, we live in the home). No one came to the house again Wednesday or Thursday and finally Friday the trim guys showed up to remove the trim. Unfortunately, we now are going into the long holiday weekend, and I was forced to have a home tore up and furniture all over on my daughter's birthday where she had 8 friends stay the night. Tuesday the 28th now arrives. The plumber showed up at 7:30 and did a great job. The flooring crew however was 5 hours late from the anticipated arrival time. The main flooring guy walked right up to my ring camera and turned it away from viewing my home. Now remember, the dates of my availability were not taken into account, and this forced me to open my home to strangers with no one home to supervise. I gave them my garage code and trusted. I didn't expect them to TOUCH MY PERSONAL PROPERTY AND REMOVE MY ABILITY TO WATCH OVER MY HOME. Luckily my mother-in-law was close by and she was able to return to the house to correct the camera view and inform the flooring guy that they are in our home alone, with no supervision. I immediately contacted Great Floors and left a voice mail with Lynn and sent a message to Adam's cell with a photo of his guy moving my camera and when I contacted Adam, he denied my call and replied with "sorry,l I can't talk right now", but never returned my call. 24 hours have gone by since I contacted Great Floors and I have yet to receive a call back from Lynn. I was forced to contact the corporate office who clearly informed Lynn of my call and when Lynn called, he refused to own the problem. He argued with me that he was on vacation, Justin was responsible for the entire problem and Adam was a liar that he was going to "do more than talk to". I barely got an apology and here it is Friday the 31st, 3 flooring guys are in my home alone again because I can't be there, and Great Floors has completely lost any future business I would ever give them. read more

We went into this store twice looking for flooring, getting ideas, learning about the different kinds of flooring. After the first time, we compared it with several other stores. Some of the other stores had absolutely no one to help us. At Great Floors, we were allowed to browse by ourselves, ask questions, or have all the help we needed. They were so wonderful! We got in on the tail-end of a sale that they still honored. Josh Martinez sat down with us and discussed all the necessary components for installing the flooring after which he worked out the best prices he could offer us. We were treated with respect! Never were we pressured to buy or upgrade. It will be the first place I check for flooring and countertops, etc. They have a fabulous selection! read more

So.... after my review I was contacted on yelp quite quickly by Greatfloors and encouraged to contact Shad Waite in the the corporate office to discuss my customer service complaint... I spoke with Shad who seemed genuinely concerned with our situation, he assured me that a finish carpenter would come to my house and make things right... last contact was on Sept 24 2019, today is October 8th.... not a word since... I am very happy with my experiences with Great Floors. Kelly Zion helped us coordinate the measurements assessment & installer. She was very knowledgeable about the products. She answered all our questions and had great suggestions. We have cats & dogs so she thought the waterproof backed carpet would help protect the subfloor. We decided that was a great idea for the bedrooms, stairs & landings. Our previous experience, choosing laminate for the main floor, has proven to be the best decision. The only problem was the product is no longer available. This is not because of Great Floors. I wish the manufacturers would continue less expensive handsome flooring. Boooooo I told him I was too busy and needed for him to find me laminate or snap flooring floor in a neutral or gray color scheme at the best price then to get in touch with what he found. March, 2022 As senior citizens, we wanted to remove our carpeting and old flooring to install new laminate throughout the house. It seemed like a daunting project but Dennis Bush at the CDA Great Floors provided some wonderful guidance because he listened to our situation. He worked patiently and diligently with us in choosing the right flooring for our house too. The installers Derek and Samuel were talented young men that made the project less stressful for us. Josh Martinez hands down has made 3 flooring purchases an absolute breeze. After listening to what we were after, showed us examples that did the job. Anyone with big dogs needs to consider LVP Pergo flooring. It's bullet proof and cleans up with a swifter. The installers for the carpet with a pattern, Dale and Shane are masters at their craft. Plus the nicest and tidiest installers I've ever worked with. Great Floors has the selection, and installation that other big box places can't touch. Josh is very responsive when I call, he has raised the bar for how professionals should be. Our building owner hired Great Floors to do the flooring in a large remodel. Great Floors contracted out to Mike & Bill of Tuff Knees Flooring. What an exceptional experience! Mike & Bill are extremely professional, on time, neat and orderly and kept us, the tenants, posted on every move so we knew what areas could and could not be used for a while. But after what I went through and such a low review average for all locations I'm so hesitant to use your company. I might end up using you though, I sure hope I'm not sorry. After years of driving by and saying, "if I ever need flooring, I'm going to check them out". I wish I didn't, what a mess. Didn't end up using them for a list of reasons but the one that really pissed me off was the square footage they measured for the master bath was way high. Hello again! Awhile back I posted a very positive review of the service I received from Great floors CDA. Though they did a good job on what they did, they did not finish. There is a transit strip approximately 10" or longer that needed to be placed to transition from our new wooded floors to a carpeted area. It's been approximately 5 months and I've called about 4 times asking when they would come out and finish. I received a call a week ago from one of the installers telling me they are on a huge apartment project and they can't come install my one short piece. As I said before they did a good job but apparently they don't have the time, once they get your money to finish. Be careful when you choose. read more

I can not stress enough that this company, Great Floors in Coeur d'Alene is worth avoiding! As a company they were hired to re-floor my entire home prior to moving in in the Winter of 2017. The product when it arrived was damaged, and yet still used. The employees damaged my house, left trash everywhere, and did such an overall poor job, a secondary contractor had to be brought in to correct their mistakes and damage. They also left food and pink cake frosting all over my counters, which took a long time to remove due to staining. In addition to the above, they swept all of their dust and debris out into snow outside my garage which clogged my drain and resulted in my garage flooding during snow melt, not to mention all the garbage I picked up in my drive and yard left behind. As a local realtor, I was shocked and complained to the company. They REFUSED to come out and personally review damage after I requested this. I was told to just take pictures. They did eventually cover some of the repairs to their work. I also had to pay the original contractor on site extra cash because he felt the original price was under bid !!!! I recently sold another home being built and was forced to use Great Floors again in 2019. I was very hesitant due to my previous experience, but the contractor required them as part of his bid. The first and immediate issue I had was scheduling. The sales staff was difficult to coordinate with and required several contacts before being able to set up a date. The excuse I was given was that the responsible needed some days off and would it be available. Problem was I was in middle of property price bid, and was concerned about time frame. I was told that I could not use other staff and was forced to have to use one person who at time was NOT wanting to come in due to wanting to take extended days off. Eventually this worked out but after several attempts to schedule. Now a month in a half before closing, I get a call telling me that tile I picked was no longer available due to company going out of business. I would have to come in and change order ... my question is WHY did they not order sooner and instead wait until I now have a closing date issue? Again, I am now having an issue setting up a date to come in due to Great Floors wanting me to take a day off of my work to fix their mistake, because they do t want to come in on their day off on the weekend. Again, this is worked out so I come in at agreed upon time which involves an hour each way and using my days off to fix their problem. Today, I show up at agreed upon time and the salesman is NOT THERE, I am told he is off. I talk to Manager who says he doesn't have this persons number, but he would try to locate him. At this point, I just left ... They are unprofessional, not worth my time, and have at this point cost me money and precious time I do not have. We needed a small job done carpeting some stairs. We didn't want to pay a lot since it's not our main house. Our rep Chris immediately found us a very cost effective remnant and the total price was half of what another store quoted. The day they came to install, there was a problem with the amount of carpet that was sent. Our rep went above the call of duty and brought what was needed to the installer. The job was completed in a timely manner and we were very satisfied. The installer was great too. Thank you, Great Floors and Chris for making this a good experience. read more

First, the good: Salesperson Sabrina is fantastic. She helped us immensely with selecting the tile, wood floor, carpet and everything else we were looking to buy for our home construction project. If only I was able to work solely with her.... Dennis was our default salesman, as he handles referrals from our home builder. As buyers, we're well aware of our budget, our "allowance" items and approximately the total amount of money we would spend for our entire house. Based on our selections, we knew that we were coming in well under our flooring budget. However, Dennis kept trying to convince us how we had selected options that put us right at the top of our budget. This made no sense based on our rather conservative floor covering choices. We stayed the course and asked Dennis to send us the quote. He refused, citing that he works for the builder and not for me. He would only provide the quote to the builder. I explained my position; that I was the customer and since I was paying the bills, I wanted a copy of the quote. He refused, stating I would have to get it from the builder. I advised I would appreciate transparency in this process and I was willing to take my $30K elsewhere if I could not get a copy of the quote. This somewhat protracted conversation was getting me nowhere. Surprisingly, he watched me walk out the door. So my question remains: what is Dennis trying to hide? That he's going to give the builder a discount and they would, in turn, charge me full retail? Or was he trying to pad the quote to get up to my budget maximum? No matter the answer, not being able to get a copy of the quote is unacceptable. I don't know about Great Floors, as a company, but buyers should proceed with caution with Dennis at the Cd'A store. The whole process sure seemed shady. And my apologies to Sabrina. She worked diligently and was super helpful, sorry I couldn't do business at your store. We're looking to put laminate in our 1-year old home. Checked out several stores in the area and found ourselves at Great Floors. Talked to Paul who helped us pick a flooring. He said his guy that measures would call so we could set an appointment to have our space measured. He called the next morning from down the street saying he was on his way! Not a great way to start, an appointment would have been more professional. He left and said that the quote would be coming soon. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally after 3-4 days my husband called and was told "someone will be in touch". We waited some more. Another couple of days and we called back. Same response. We called again, not realizing they were closed for Labor Day and got the store voice mail. My husband left a pretty stern message saying how disappointed we were with the lack of Customer service and if they still wanted our business to please call us back. The next day he got a call at 7am which he tried to pickup but the line was dead. I'm sure whomever called realized how early it was and hung up. We've yet to hear from anyone! read more

Dennis, at Great Floors, is hands down the best and most honest salesman I have ever worked with. He goes above and beyond whenever I have worked with him. He always has time for me and knows me by name as soon as I walk in the door. He always does what he says he is going to do, which is something that is very hard to find in the sales industry these days! We recently purchased a house, and are doing several of the projects ourselves, one of which was adding laminate flooring. We are new to the "DIY life", so we decided to shop local, and went to the Coeur d'Alene Great Floors location. We arrived after work on a weekday - we fully expected to be ignored due to the fact they would be closing soon. We could not have been more wrong in our assumptions. We were instantly greeted by Josh Martinez. Josh was both welcoming and knowledgeable about his inventory and products. He helped us select several samples to take home to see how they looked in our lighting (Pro tip! The sample I LOVED in the store looked totally different in our house). Josh was patient with us, as we were very indecisive on what we wanted, but with his guidance, we found the perfect flooring for our needs. This is a DIY project, and we have been moving slower than expected, but even after the sale was made, Josh has continued to follow-up with us to make sure that everything is working for us. We purchased a new home and the prior owners had let their dogs urinate all over our carpet. We had no choice but to replace the carpet and padding and were referred to Robert at Great Floors by our kids. He was awesome!! I was so perplexed with all of the choices and he was very patient with me even when I changed my mind a few times. The guys that installed our carpet were awesome as well. We have been working with Dennis at Great Floors for many months now. We are in the midst of a major remodel and have relied on Dennis for all our flooring needs. He has been attentive, informative, and extremely customer-focused the entire time. He sent us home with innumerable samples as we struggled through the design phase. He guided us to select the proper flooring for this four-season climate. He followed up with the suppliers on every order, and he called us regularly with updates on delivery schedules. He worked closely with us and our builder to schedule the flooring installation at the proper time in the reconstruction process. He conducted a personal site inspection prior to the installation. In addition to being a polished, informed, current, and experienced professional, Dennis is sincere and personable. I happened to be in the store when a home owner demanded that Dennis violate his agreement with his customer in order to provide a copy of the estimate directly to the home owner. My respect for Dennis increased as a result of his handling of the loud, disgruntled home owner. Dennis remained calm and professional as the home owner publicly dressed him down in the store. Sometimes reviews say far more about the reviewer than about the subject. Dennis is a reliable, honest, and concerned professional. I strongly appreciate that he honors his agreements with his customers, whether those customers be one-time customers such as us or repeat customers like home builders. This has to be the worst flooring place in the world. I had a house built and had to go through them. They put a seam in my laminate hard wood floor in the middle of the kitchen instead of maybe in the hallway. They cut the laminate short in the laundry room so there is plywood visible. The carpet pad is lumpy all over. We had a glade plug in accident and melted some laminate floor and we ordered a small replacement piece and haven't heard from them in over 5 weeks. They only accept 1 star as lowest but I would never shop there again and give them zero stars. read more

The sales rep way over estimated the square footage needed and there was tons of waste when they were cutting at my house (enough for whole rooms) but they did not even let me keep any remnants. It took me over a month to finally get a hold of Steve, his story started with "not enough materials delivered to the site to have any remnants" and changed to "the builder must have stolen them". I was way over charged and no remnants or even small scraps to take furniture shopping of any of the 3 flooring materials in my house let alone enough to actually use for repair. read more

I had purchased a new home through Benway, who uses them. We picked out the flooring and specifically asked if this was durable flooring for pets and if steam mops were ok to use on the flooring. Oh course we were told it would be perfect. Well the flooring swells and whoever installed it did horribly. I have contacted Great Floors multiple times and even had someone come out to look at the flooring. He basically called me a liar, saying that my laundry room had flooded causing the flooring to swell in spots. Which if it did the base board and flooring in the laundry room would have had damage but this was all through my house?? Then he said you can't use a steam mop on this flooring it's too wet. I don't know how else to clean the damn floor if I can't get it wet. If this guy has ever used a steam mop he would know that it doesn't get it wet like a normal mop??? He told me he would call me back, never did. My husband called repeatedly and we never got any assistance. It has now been over a year since we first contacted them and we have yet to get this resolved...worthless. Don't waist your time. read more

I had a terrible experience with Great Floors in Coeur d'Alene, ID. They installed my kitchen floor on the improper underlayment, using particle board instead of plywood and now all the particle board seams are visible through the flooring. Their installers had no idea how to install my Marmoleum properly, using the incorrect glues and doing the seams wrong. Great Floors in Coeur d'Alene have refused to rectify the issue and ignored a letter from my attorney. I spent tens of thousands of dollars with them by having them install all the carpeting, tile, granite and Marmoleum throughout my new house. I recently had a Forbo expert who was trained by the Forbo company on how to properly install Marmoleum inspect my floor and he detailed what was done wrong and give me an estimate to fix it. I would never buy anything here ever again and I tell all my friends about my experience. My next step is to file a lawsuit. All I wanted is for my floor to be fixed, but they ignored me. read more
